Alot , alot happened, just enjoy the ride my friend , sky FC take place on western side of zumeria continent, this one take place on eastern side of continent
Just finished this game 10 mins ago! First time for me to wait for the next game release! 🥲 Take me almost 2 years from Sky FC to Kuro 2. I fucking love Trails!
its the sequel of trails into reverie which is a sequel of zero/azure and cold steel, so yes it has connection. You will see some of the characters from sky, crossbell and coldsteel appear on this game.
Beautiful opening unfortunately as I play the series on ps4 I should only be able to play after 2024 in english (maybe I already have a ps5 by then). As the game hints at time travel or alternate realities, it could be that the scenarios where you fight Celis or Kasim are not part of the final timeline. Has anyone been able to identify the image that appears in Feri's eye during the OP?
I mean in any Trails game, some sort of time fuckery or parallel world shenanigans is a must. Crossbell and Coldsteel is interlinked in this by having similar openings with different outcomes, Sky's 3rd Chapter albeit in a sham-like version, Hajimari's Rean incident and this.
I think Falcom are smart people. I still prefer the Animated openings or the ones we had from Sky 1 to Cold Steel II. I think artwork never gets old, it's timeless and no matter how many times a game is remastered, if you do a good artwork such as Cold Steel I-II for example, you can reuse that for as long as you have the high quallity artwork you used. I know art is expensive. And I guess they are pushing themselves a lot with those expressions because you can clearly see that in Kuro onward the choreography for battles are awesome. Do I want more animated openings? Yes. Do I think the animated openings are less spoilerer-y. Yes I do. At leaast, in CS1, when I see Loa Erebonius, I knew it was a final boss, but what I was seeing was a representation of what I would find in the game, not the scene itself. It got me more curious about how to get to that point and how the game would convey that to me. Now, it's just spoilers XD. I do think the first game opening in this case was better though.
Time mindfukery is strong in this one. Van and Elaine deaths in the trailer aside, the Crimson Grendel wielder looks awfully similar to grown up Swin, they even use same weapons. Also he is trying to "rectify" history and Swin was talking in the PV about atoning for his actions while apologizing to Nadia. But then again, Falcom's foreshadowing is S tier, so there is definitely going to be some sort of subversion.
The deaths were probably changed through time reverse. Also your notice of the Crimson Grendel wielder looking like older Swin and having the same weapon is amazing! It’s true in the preview he said he has to atone which would make sense though it asks the question of how he knows that’s the future him.
Or it could be ace? He look the same as him too. Which is why we see swin fighting him. Also how do you know hr suppose to be crimson grendel? There's nothing showing that
@@tyrell9232 Well, it's Falcom, so even characters which died in backstories are capable of suddenly reincarnating themselves into the plot. So yea, Ace would also make sense. It would also align with Swin talking about atonement as he definitely feels guilty for taking his life.
@@Unknown-ul2zz I’m pretty sure the Crimson Sin Zolga isn’t the same as the guy that looks like Ace. Crimson sin has a completely different outfit on before he puts on the nightmare.
@@tyrell9232 he is the one using Eighth Genesis and he was also talking about creating new world in the preview . But yea, I might be completely off on this one and he simply hunts for the Grendel-Zolga just like everyone else. But if that is the case, it would be weird for Falcom to spoil him getting Eight Genesis in the end.
Damn, watching Sky FC and SC openings and then watching this one is kinda jaring. I do think, that they did the right thing when they changed artstyle and art direction in Zero onwards, but i do believe that charm and campines of the first game in the series is, partially, in it artstyle and direction. They did right by changing with the times and not becoming stale, but the magic of the first two games are unic and i love Falcom for them.
Will we see the meeting of the Eight Leaves, One Blade practitioners in this one? Shizuna even stated in the last game that she wanted to spar with the Divine Blade of Void.
Someone's bound to do a translation patch for the pc version. It'll take longer than zerofield but it'll prob be out way before NISA releases their version of kuro 2
Damn, this red Grendel just seems to got here straight from Drakereider(If somebody except me know what is this, please comment this, lol. The time I installed this game there was about 100 installs AT ALL, and then it just got deleted from app store)
Visually this OP is good but in term of music I still prefer Ao no Kiseki Evo opening. Also I'm so happy my prediction for the first Kuro is wrong, take a backseat and stay there Rean, Calvard isn't Crossbell for you to interfere.
@@buttertoast1146 and even if does come back I hope he get Princess Claudia treatment, there for the story but didn't do nothing. Class 7 has many great character, they should have they times to shine like Tita and Fie did in 3/4 and Kuro 1.

Don't get me wrong I love violin and guitar together but I felt like that was signature for Liberl/Crossbell/Erebonia and new combo will be piano and guitar (plus the violin felt too shoe-stringed in). Namonaki Akumu no Hate was a "this is a fresh new chapter in modern era" - sadly this feels to me like like a step back.
Honestly, I don't really mind too much. It's definitely a bummer but I'd rather they get better at using their new engine because honestly animation and movements are Falcoms biggest weak point.
@@CalebPorter1105 this. The fact they are using their new engine to improve their animation is good and using it for the opening allows them to do better im choreography than they tried to do previously.
How do you go from making the best game in the series (Kuro 1) to making the worst right after it, this game should've been a DLC to Kuro 1 it was an obvious cash grab, they needed to release something to please the investors.
I do agree alot of the kuro 2 content felt like filler to pad out the games but the later half got alot better. One thing that majorly bothered me was how unfocused the game was, the routes were okay but Kuro 2 felt like Van wasn't even the protagonist anymore for the majority of the story.
@@jackjohnson8305 I'm absolutely saying that yes. I enjoyed CS4 too but it's wild how you think that game is great when its issues are the same as Kuro 2's but much worse and are throughout the entire game instead of one act

These engines definitely work better than it would have older openings but man I’m still partial to the anime style openings to start out. I guess I also just fear this is an example of them catering to more western audiences which I’m not a fan of.

Examples are Van vs shizuna, van vs elaine, Agnes and renne's scene, couple of other fight scenes. Its funny because the animations that they used in the op look far better then the in game counterparts of the same scenes lol. @Ogami yeah, the tales ops are made by ufotable btw, aka one of the best japanese animated studios rn, so it makes sense that it would look good, tales just simply has a waaaay higher budget Speaking of budget, it always bothers me how falcom hires these super AAA japanese voice actors for their games that they can barely afford, which results in the games barely having any voice acting. @@Matthias-pj6th I'm not saying it's impossible and I'd be fine if it was the case but the other Renne is in a mirror, her other personalities are already established, and said personalities were just reintroduced in the last game. Eyes changing color with personalities is also another popular trope in anime as well. They aren't just gonna bring all these things up like that for no reason. Also, the only thing we know of that's capable of creating alternate versions of characters no longer exists and even if we get a cross between an entire parallel world as part of Gramheart's plan I don't really see why another version of Renne is what we would get out of it. It's also possible that the reflection is her other personality but we also get another version of Renne as well. Idk.
1:25 Nice nod to the fact that time is changed, since Van was unable to summon Grendel and Grendel Zolga wiped the floor with the 2 of them. Here, Agnes is with them and Van has the power to use Grendel again
Hopefully both part 1 and part of this game will be released to west this coming 2023 🙏
Just finished the game. Absolute blast. Used a custom self-made overlay app after they shut down zero field.
Just curious what patch did u use to apply btw
I only start kuro 2 recently and oh my, the prologue chapter really surprised me and this opening start and i was like, wtf 😅 Van can't rest yet after that whole mafia crap he dealt a few months before
I love this game
~
I don't know what happen but still. LET'S GOOOOOO.
But i'm still waiting for My Boi Father Kevin. Where is he after all this time?
Hell show up in this one
Who is Kevin?
Kuro really actually did it. It brought back all the energy and magic of the Crossbell games (and the original run before them)
It managed to bring back such energy, that the game is doing terrible. Kuro 2 was a huge downgrade compared too the first game.
@@Lenahfuhuge disagree
@@lightzthestarzI don't know what people problems are with the game and how the west is gonna handle it. But I just got to chapter 2 and this is all straight hype for me so far.
@@LenahfuAgree. Kuro 2 had an interesting setup but the overuse of the gimmick and chapter 3 being such a huge nothing time waster really brings the game down. I know Trails games are renowned for being slow but I've never been downright bored by any of em. Except Kuro 2
@@dan_kotsuThe problem is the 3rd chapter for me. That said perhaps you enjoyed it, after 3 months how was jt?
This opening is very lit.
I like the fact the most replayed part is Renne
This song grew on me a LOT
Holy crap is Swin fighting Ace
Himself from a different timeline
so great 💯💯
Last opening has Van assembled with his Spriggan crew at the end, here he's only with Mare walking away.
This doesn't bode well.
may..be th..ey a..ll di..e..?
JKXD its falcom were talking about. they are known for not killing off any character except the captain in YS VIII and Loewe. they are also known for having their english translations get released 3+ years after the release of the Japanese versions.
@@ChaosEater39 Agnes and Aaron are going to be stuck in the past to become Sunshine Agnes and Tycoon. Risette maybe returns to Marduk (who are going to keep being antagonists for long, so prepare to fight Risette a lot in the next arc) or is dismantled and upgraded, Bergard is the Fifth Anguis (though a double agent who has decided to infiltrate Ouroboros in order to expose their plans to the Church), and Judith and Quatre might abandon Van once he joins Ouroboros.
Van himself is going to join Ouroboros as Enforcer XVI or maybe be sent to the past with Elaine in order to become Harwood's father.
@@vittoriopugliese3352 I LIKE IT!
Elaine does the same thing
@@buttertoast1146 Elaine is either dead or is going tobe stuck in the past with Van and become Ellroy Harwood's mother.
Atm enjoying Kuro 2.
Its maybe not as good as Kuro 1, but its still a good game :)
We too deep in trails to quit anyway
Started the serie with trail of cold Steel 3 but little did I know that u guys waited many years just to have it in English 😭
as someone who is just now beating sky fc, all I can think about looking at this is "wtf happened"
Alot , alot happened, just enjoy the ride my friend , sky FC take place on western side of zumeria continent, this one take place on eastern side of continent
FC and SC has their unic charm in their artsyle and art direction in general, cherish them while you play.
Getting some jotaro vs dio vibe at the start and end
I really hope this game does well. I've heard if not then well.... I don't even want to say it.
Whoever that hooded masked man…we’re gonna find out one way or another.
Frick yall I have to wait a year to even play the prequel to this series
Fuck it I’m gonna play these games on Japanese I ain’t gonna wait anymore for this
Just finished this game 10 mins ago! First time for me to wait for the next game release! 🥲
Take me almost 2 years from Sky FC to Kuro 2. I fucking love Trails!
There is a distinct lack of Barkhorn and idk what to think about that.
Where is Rixia :/
RIP Booba
If I take a shot for every trails op with "kiseki" in the lyrics. I would probably be drunk and wasted.
0:34 I really like the synthesizer riff Idk what tune it should be called
I think it's a saw, but what kind of saw specifically I have no idea
Where is the one-eyed old man from the first Kuro no Kiseki game? Didn't see him anywhere.
He left somewhere at the end of the 1st game and isn't playable in 2.
What I want to ask is: does this series have any kind of connection to the previous series (trail of sky, trail of zero, or trail of cold steel)?
its the sequel of trails into reverie which is a sequel of zero/azure and cold steel, so yes it has connection. You will see some of the characters from sky, crossbell and coldsteel appear on this game.
@@lyner7715 i'm glad to hear that.
Trails series are all connected. It dedicates to one continent. Stories are separated to countries.
Awesome.
Dam we aint getting this in America for a while.
I wrote this 3 months ago😂😂😂😂😂😩😩
I reckon we will get one sooner now the fan translators have been hired I’m optimistic yeah but hey why not
They got hired? Where did you hear this from?
nice bait
i've already downloaded this game, but haven't played it yet, waiting for the ENG subtitle
Wha- how? The Japanese version are different, if you buy the jap ver then you're not going to get English sub
It's Aida
I mean in any Trails game, some sort of time fuckery or parallel world shenanigans is a must. Crossbell and Coldsteel is interlinked in this by having similar openings with different outcomes, Sky's 3rd Chapter albeit in a sham-like version, Hajimari's Rean incident and this.
Who is that reflection at feri's eye at 0:33? Did not look like Kasim
It's Aida from behind. You can see her red shirt and green ponytail.
@@LROlsson no wonder , now i that think of it , her new dance attires was basically a perfect fit of aida's nickname too , firebird
Why jindo never create op music?
can't wait for the western NISA release in 2026!!!!
very optimistic
Looks cool! See you in 2030!
I usually don't like the 3d opening designs but this one is really well crafted
Will we see the meeting of the Eight Leaves, One Blade practitioners in this one? Shizuna even stated in the last game that she wanted to spar with the Divine Blade of Void.
Unfortunately not. However, there is a documentary movie that features Alan during the 100 day war, so...
@@otmshank4778 I was referring to Rean, no Alan Richard.

Sad I have to wait 1 year for PC port + English patch
May not even get a patch since NISA's cease and desist. More likely we're waiting til 2025 or 2026 at least for this
@@garethcf1016 Sadly same thought.
@Ogami true, at least the Kuro 1 (PC version) is alive and still have new update. I played the whole game with it last month. It was so good. 😁
@LuckySlime sad
Someone's bound to do a translation patch for the pc version. It'll take longer than zerofield but it'll prob be out way before NISA releases their version of kuro 2
What is this anime?
is this going to be released before 2030
early 2025. It's already been announced.
Hope he never comes back, Van should be the new face
@@buttertoast1146 and even if does come back I hope he get Princess Claudia treatment, there for the story but didn't do nothing.
Class 7 has many great character, they should have they times to shine like Tita and Fie did in 3/4 and Kuro 1.
Honestly I feel like Kuro 1 was better in terms of opening song.
They should go back to the anime style openings from the older games tbh (sky FC-cold steel 2)
I agree
Honestly, I don't really mind too much. It's definitely a bummer but I'd rather they get better at using their new engine because honestly animation and movements are Falcoms biggest weak point.
@@CalebPorter1105 this. The fact they are using their new engine to improve their animation is good and using it for the opening allows them to do better im choreography than they tried to do previously.
pongan a valimar
How do you go from making the best game in the series (Kuro 1) to making the worst right after it, this game should've been a DLC to Kuro 1 it was an obvious cash grab, they needed to release something to please the investors.
I do agree alot of the kuro 2 content felt like filler to pad out the games but the later half got alot better. One thing that majorly bothered me was how unfocused the game was, the routes were okay but Kuro 2 felt like Van wasn't even the protagonist anymore for the majority of the story.
calling kuro 2 the worst when something like CS1 or even 4 exists is insane
the game has its low points but its by no means "worst"
@@Gaht64 You're saying CS4 is worse than Kuro 2? what? that game was a banger.
@@jackjohnson8305 I'm absolutely saying that yes. I enjoyed CS4 too but it's wild how you think that game is great when its issues are the same as Kuro 2's but much worse and are throughout the entire game instead of one act
@@Gaht64 Its been years since i beat CS4 so i can't comment on the details cuz i forgot but it was hype from start to finish with old sky/crossbell characters coming back, when it comes to Kuro 2 i may have judged it too harshly when i wrote my OG comment
i have since beaten it again thanks to the fanpatch getting finished and i must say my opinion of it certainly improved (ACT 3 was still trash tho, easily the lowest point of the game)
These engines definitely work better than it would have older openings but man I’m still partial to the anime style openings to start out. I guess I also just fear this is an example of them catering to more western audiences which I’m not a fan of.
Sometime I wish the would stop doing full English localisations and just do a English sub versions first for people who don’t mind reading and just want to play the games that way we could play them sooner I play atelier games so I’m used to it I know it would meaning making technically 2 versions but they would make so much more money that way
there's still no localization for first one so they can eat shit, they don't want my money xd
Dunno if you been living under a rock but first one is coming west July 5th this year...
@@CGInferno huh, ty for info
Love this opening but man the instrumentation is so weak
First game op was much better
the song yes
but this one have better animation
@Ogami handdrawn animation take much time n budget lol
@Ogami except believe it or not, most of it is not in game, if u watch the kuro op 1 u will notice that they made plenty of new animations just for the op. Examples are Van vs shizuna, van vs elaine, Agnes and renne's scene, couple of other fight scenes. Its funny because the animations that they used in the op look far better then the in game counterparts of the same scenes lol. The hajimari op was complete trash where they used mostly same in game cutscenes.
U can call the op shit but they are clearly putting in the effort
@@fynaria2221 nah, song fine, and animation clean.
I mean the very, how should I say, filling, they didn’t really show anything.
when I saw the opening of the first game, everything inside me was screaming, god, I want to play this, it looks so epic, this op? no thanks.
@Ogami yeah, the tales ops are made by ufotable btw, aka one of the best japanese animated studios rn, so it makes sense that it would look good, tales just simply has a waaaay higher budget
Speaking of budget, it always bothers me how falcom hires these super AAA japanese voice actors for their games that they can barely afford, which results in the games barely having any voice acting. Like Rean and Van barely being voiced in 90% of the cutscenes lol
Maybe if falcom could get their priorities straight, we could get better music composors and better op songs maybe
Early 2025 guys
