I believe that Kai will be divided into two parts, this is the part that we will probably lose and it will have an outcome like Cold Steel 3 where we literally lost, but hope for a better future. And Kai no Kiseki 2 will be the entire cast of active playable characters to bring Zemuria back.

Pretty sure his win rate (excluding random encounters, monster bosses and mech battles) is under 40%. Rean is so pathetic, an AI from another dimension had to pull him aside and force him to grind until he was in a state that wouldn't instantly doom his world. You can't make stuff like this up. Unless you're a writer for Falcom. If Rean was a Pokemon trainer, his Pikachu would be stolen at the start of every episode. The rest of the episode would be about real trainers defeating Team Rocket and giving Pikachu back.

He needs to beat every divine blade at some point. Shizuna finally fulfilling her role of bringing Rean back into the story. Every other MC party barely beats Divine Blades, Rean "1v1 me, built different, etc"

If you are looking closer, you will see that "Silver Grandel (who might Agnes)" is looking ahead instead of facing Van. She just turns back to look at Van with the frame of Agnes' cry. My bet is Van somehow must become a sacrifice to seal the Final Boss (like Rean in Sen 4 bad ending) She knew the future and she became the "Silver Grandel" to do that in Van's place. So we will have the Bad Ending that Agnes sacrifices herself to save Van. and the True Ending that Agnes is saved as well.
See? that's why Kiseki games needs more than a mere one year of developpement time! (hope you'll learn that lesson Masayuki Kato!) just look how much they progressed by giving it 2 years. Can't wait!
I rather them taking some time with each game, since there is not a continuation from game to game I think it is better that they take time to make a polished game. Arise was amazing for me, but I do feel that some parts where rushed, and the new combat style can be improved more

Man this song really *really* grew on me during listens 2 through 5. It might not be the hypest song or whatever but the laidback nature I think fits with what I spend most of time doing in Trails, talking to a million npc's while slice-of-life'ing it lol. Plus the speed up at 0:54 sounds really good.

Yea the same thing happened in reverie with bad ending rean showing up to fight the rean that made it out in the true ending. If the eye mask really was Aaron then he probably turned when Van and Elaine died in the beginning of Kuro 2. I also think if this is true than every time Van died in Kuro 2 the events in that version’s timeline still went on. So maybe there might even be more versions of the arkride crew that come from different times when van died and they didn’t.
This is what a one year break can do for a small company like falcom, the quality of Kai is noticeably better than the first two games. If only Ys X wasn't delayed and they had to rush Kuro 2, maybe we would've gotten a much better finished product
Interesting that there are two masked enemies, one is definitely using two jian blades like Aaron, the other is using a dagger (like Risette). If you look at the second PV, the jian user fought Cao, and the dagger user fought Risette and looks like it also has a weapon in the other hand. Spriggan simulacrum?

Holy crap! Is that Altina?! YES!! My favorite character in the whole series! I hope her relationship with Rean develops more in this game (platonically, of course, I always saw Rean as more of an older brother/father figure towards Altina). Also Kevin's finally returning (unless he came back in the Daybreak games, which I haven't played yet), yay!
Amazing opening. I think this is my favorite of the series. Falcom really show their mastery of their in-house engine with this opening. Cannot wait until the game releases in the west, hopefully by early 2026 🤞
Okay I'm going to drop all my unreasonable predictions here just to see later how wrong I am. Some of them I REALLY hope I'm wrong about. I've seen up through Daybreak 2 already, so if you haven't quit reading now okay thanks. --Those masked characters whose masks looks like they have the same symbols that are on some of the geneses? They're the extra devils/demon lords who got added to the scriptures at some point. I suspect due to us dealing with the sept-terrion of time they are probably the Aaron, Bergard, Naje, and Feri of an alternate timeline or previous cycle that escaped the reset. The GM's plan is called Eternal Recurrence after all and I've seen enough Xenosaga and Nietzsche to expect the GM is trying to pull some Wilhelm shi here (though probably not with ill intentions). ["But internet rando, 4 is not 5, oh did you mean Vagrants-Zion counts as the other one?" Sure, let's go with that for a minute.] --the silver grendel is Agnes, but she's not a devil/demon lord, even though the grendels are restraints/shackles that enable humans co-instantiating with demon lords to use said demon lord's power without summoning/becoming the demon lord. Why is the silver grendel different? Because we've had the sept-terrion of time with us the whole time, and it's our girl, only she doesn't know that about herself. This recontextualizes why time-manipulation things always seem to require Agnes +1 genesis in order to occur. The genesis is the interface, the sept-terrion is the source. --What even is Mare? We've already established that the holo cores are mostly all named after the demons in the Key of Solomon, with mare being short for Nightmare as the only exception. How special is she? Is she the holy beast of time? I actually don't think so. I think the holy beast of time exists in all times/timelines/possible worlds simultaneously, and requires an outlet to do anything that affects any given point in time. Mare is that outlet, so she is not directly the holy beast, but it speaks and acts and influences things through her. Because of this, Mare is ordinarily as unremarkable as any other holo core, but when the holy beast is acting through her, she appears to be bound by the same rules that Ragnard and Zeit have outlined--certain things she's prohibited from saying due to the oath with Aidios, etc. --Why is Agnes crying? Because none of the sept-terrions we've seen so far are still there after the game where they're dealt with. She'll be unable in some form or fashion to remain in the world. It's bigsad. Leaving Van is bigsad. Leaving everyone behind is bigsad. Having to choose between your found family and the world having a future is bigsad. Agnes cry. --Why did Van ditch his sweet coat for a shorter, thinner version? Is that what's fashionable right now? No, probably not, IDK. I think it's to throw you off the trail of the thing I hope I'm wrong about the most. We'll get to it. --Why is Elaine crying? Because Van doesn't make it to the end of the game either. At least, that's the theory. It may not be true, or it may only be partially true due to time-related shenanigans. Please note that near the end of the op movie Agnes and Elaine are together, and they release a bird (symbol of freedom/hope/rebirth) that flies past Van and up into the sky. This is a major flag for, "the love triangle has no answer because insufficient people are still there to answer it." Per my previous speculations, I think Elaine is going to be the sole survivor and none of them will be happy. Also the song used in the op is comparatively pretty soft/light/love-song-y/wistful and big stories usually save that for the ending credits (plenty of people already said it sounded like an ending theme when the mini ost vids came out). This all but confirms some kinda bittersweet ending. I feel like this is how it's going to go. --okay, the part I most hope I'm wrong about. Did you all notice where Harwood is chilling in this op movie? Initially I thought it was the Solutions' Office's couch, but upon closer inspection I'm wrong about that, which is good, but maybe still not enough of an anti-confirmation or my fears. I'm going to say it anyway: if we're dealing with time-shenanigans, and in particular if we have time resets and potentially people surviving those time resets (hi four out of five masked people!), it's possible that there's a universe in which Van survives the end-of-cycle destruction too, but what if it's not in a good way? Like, what if the spriggan just chooses chaos a couple times too many and isn't really himself any more. Like what if he starts smoking, starts murdering, just basically embraces all the demon lord inside of him and stops keeping any promises he made to people and even reconciles a little bit with Walter? What if Umbra Nodens is just Vagrants-Zion with two thumbs up? What if despite all of that he still likes him a long blue coat, and can't completely forget his semi-paternal instinct to show at least some concern for Renne? Anyway, I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect Harwood might be either a Van from a previous cycle that survived into this cycle (in which case current Van is not invalidated and can still choose differently), or the bad ending for Van where he picks chaos one too many times after shit hits the fan. It's just odd to me how many parallel or parallel but opposite connections Van and Harwood have, and he's totally lounging on that couch in a familiar position even if it's not the Solutions Office couch. Less important predictions and stuff: --The whole, "how does the fool be both the 1st & last arcana," is solved: the last enforcer is digital girl Uwuboros, as Campy hijacking Quatre's V-tuber. This enforcer will be, "The World," and it makes sense for them to appear in this game. --New hat guy in mostly black is NOT McBurn with a different uniform, and may not even be Ouroboros. I suspect he's on team extra devils. I also suspect he is actually just Thorndyke in his Harajuku drip. --Kasim on the other hand, will have been an enforcer all along. --Bergard is too. Bergard is whatever arcana indicates betrayal, but his betrayal is to the church, not to Van. I'm torn about whether he will additionally betray Ouroboros or team masked devils, but I'm suspecting the big bulky masked guy is Bergard, and that it is OUR Bergard, not some other/previous timeline one. --Hermes is also an enforcer or an anguis. "Wait but she's working for Gramheart tho!!" Yep. "They said they wouldn't interfere with Gramheart's business though!!" Yep. They didn't say they wouldn't plant eyes and ears into said business though. They fully intended (Harwood excluded) to not interfere, but they never said they wouldn't be present/involved etc. Hermes will do her job in good faith as Gramheart asked, but when the agreement expires, she gets complicated. Gramheart's going to stress over this. Alternatively, Hermes is a maternal relative of Agnes or possibly Sheena Dirke herself. Maybe multiple of these things are possible at once. It'd be funny if the helmet was her tell that she's Arianrhod's replacement, but I actually don't think she is. --Because I think Shizuna is. Sorry to all the Shizuna fans. It's how Rean grows and beats le Guin supremacy allegations. Keep in mind that Shizuna may not be openly hostile to Van's group, especially not all the time. Because Van isn't anti-snake, just anti-Walter and not a huge fan of Harwoo--himself? This IS the arc where Ouroboros is playable. This one. You got an Ouroboros arc, you just didn't realize it. Van, Shizuna, Bergard, Walter, Letty, Renne--there you go. Your Ouroboros cast. It's actually kind of funny how many characters in Kuro could volunteer information that they know/are affiliated with Ouroboros, but just...don't, while also never saying they AREN'T part of team snake. Stuff you wish you remember from Cold Steel III: --that one time, during the ending, when le Guin said to Vita something about whether or not they will be able to succeed, "this time?" I swear this was in the English localization and may have been retconned but it totally raised my, "possible worlds," eyebrows all the way back then. Okay that's all I've got. I WELCOME any proof that I'm wrong about any or all of it (but only until the release date for Kai, please don't spoil Kai for me), because I'm not claiming that I'm right in the first place. Some of it I want to be wrong about.
Hoepfully the fight between shizuna vs rean will be like Reverie (where Class VII vs Rufus and there is a change over in perspective). Spirit unification vs Enlightened spirit unification.

Isn't Rean role related to what Master Yun said to him, other than another beef with Shizuna? The Septium Veins (Earth's Veins) are dying (means that Zemuria as a whole is at it's end), and his master had to do some serious shit to impede it and is related to the demons, like the one he has in his blade... Of course, I may be wrong there and Septium Veins were dying due to the curse before xD
@xXGhostStalker they've already confirmed kuro 2 is coming in early 2025. That more than likely means within the first 3 months of the year. It's not impossible for Kai to also come out in fall 2025, considering they also have YS X coming out this year in October on top of kuro 1 in July.

Even it's farewell zemuria....logically you only say farewell to something you'll leave...so here this title doesn't say it's the players that farewells to zemuria but ofcourse the characters themselves in game....so zemuria might be gone ingame or either they will see other part of the world...

Yea the same thing happened in reverie with bad ending rean showing up to fight the rean that made it out in the true ending. If the eye mask really was Aaron then he probably turned when Van and Elaine died in the beginning of Kuro 2. I also think if this is true than every time Van died in Kuro 2 the events in that version’s timeline still went on. So maybe there might even be more versions of the arkride crew that come from different times when van died and they didn’t.

This is what a one year break can do for a small company like falcom, the quality of Kai is noticeably better than the first two games.
If only Ys X wasn't delayed and they had to rush Kuro 2, maybe we would've gotten a much better finished product

Interesting that there are two masked enemies, one is definitely using two jian blades like Aaron, the other is using a dagger (like Risette). If you look at the second PV, the jian user fought Cao, and the dagger user fought Risette and looks like it also has a weapon in the other hand. Spriggan simulacrum?

Goodness they let the animation team Cook. Although I have a question since Trails through daybreak 2 from what I heard what's still a mostly self-contained story so how are they going to build up to all this crazy stuff they're doing.
Holy crap! Is that Altina?! YES!! My favorite character in the whole series! I hope her relationship with Rean develops more in this game (platonically, of course, I always saw Rean as more of an older brother/father figure towards Altina). Also Kevin's finally returning (unless he came back in the Daybreak games, which I haven't played yet), yay!
Amazing opening. I think this is my favorite of the series. Falcom really show their mastery of their in-house engine with this opening. Cannot wait until the game releases in the west, hopefully by early 2026 🤞

Okay I'm going to drop all my unreasonable predictions here just to see later how wrong I am. Some of them I REALLY hope I'm wrong about. I've seen up through Daybreak 2 already, so if you haven't quit reading now okay thanks.
--Those masked characters whose masks looks like they have the same symbols that are on some of the geneses? They're the extra devils/demon lords who got added to the scriptures at some point. I suspect due to us dealing with the sept-terrion of time they are probably the Aaron, Bergard, Naje, and Feri of an alternate timeline or previous cycle that escaped the reset. The GM's plan is called Eternal Recurrence after all and I've seen enough Xenosaga and Nietzsche to expect the GM is trying to pull some Wilhelm shi here (though probably not with ill intentions). ["But internet rando, 4 is not 5, oh did you mean Vagrants-Zion counts as the other one?" Sure, let's go with that for a minute.]
--the silver grendel is Agnes, but she's not a devil/demon lord, even though the grendels are restraints/shackles that enable humans co-instantiating with demon lords to use said demon lord's power without summoning/becoming the demon lord. Why is the silver grendel different? Because we've had the sept-terrion of time with us the whole time, and it's our girl, only she doesn't know that about herself. This recontextualizes why time-manipulation things always seem to require Agnes +1 genesis in order to occur. The genesis is the interface, the sept-terrion is the source.
--What even is Mare? We've already established that the holo cores are mostly all named after the demons in the Key of Solomon, with mare being short for Nightmare as the only exception. How special is she? Is she the holy beast of time? I actually don't think so. I think the holy beast of time exists in all times/timelines/possible worlds simultaneously, and requires an outlet to do anything that affects any given point in time. Mare is that outlet, so she is not directly the holy beast, but it speaks and acts and influences things through her. Because of this, Mare is ordinarily as unremarkable as any other holo core, but when the holy beast is acting through her, she appears to be bound by the same rules that Ragnard and Zeit have outlined--certain things she's prohibited from saying due to the oath with Aidios, etc.
--Why is Agnes crying? Because none of the sept-terrions we've seen so far are still there after the game where they're dealt with. She'll be unable in some form or fashion to remain in the world. It's bigsad. Leaving Van is bigsad. Leaving everyone behind is bigsad. Having to choose between your found family and the world having a future is bigsad. Agnes cry.
--Why did Van ditch his sweet coat for a shorter, thinner version? Is that what's fashionable right now? No, probably not, IDK. I think it's to throw you off the trail of the thing I hope I'm wrong about the most. We'll get to it.
--Why is Elaine crying? Because Van doesn't make it to the end of the game either. At least, that's the theory. It may not be true, or it may only be partially true due to time-related shenanigans. Please note that near the end of the op movie Agnes and Elaine are together, and they release a bird (symbol of freedom/hope/rebirth) that flies past Van and up into the sky. This is a major flag for, "the love triangle has no answer because insufficient people are still there to answer it." Per my previous speculations, I think Elaine is going to be the sole survivor and none of them will be happy. Also the song used in the op is comparatively pretty soft/light/love-song-y/wistful and big stories usually save that for the ending credits (plenty of people already said it sounded like an ending theme when the mini ost vids came out). This all but confirms some kinda bittersweet ending. I feel like this is how it's going to go.
--okay, the part I most hope I'm wrong about. Did you all notice where Harwood is chilling in this op movie? Initially I thought it was the Solutions' Office's couch, but upon closer inspection I'm wrong about that, which is good, but maybe still not enough of an anti-confirmation or my fears. I'm going to say it anyway: if we're dealing with time-shenanigans, and in particular if we have time resets and potentially people surviving those time resets (hi four out of five masked people!), it's possible that there's a universe in which Van survives the end-of-cycle destruction too, but what if it's not in a good way? Like, what if the spriggan just chooses chaos a couple times too many and isn't really himself any more. Like what if he starts smoking, starts murdering, just basically embraces all the demon lord inside of him and stops keeping any promises he made to people and even reconciles a little bit with Walter? What if Umbra Nodens is just Vagrants-Zion with two thumbs up? What if despite all of that he still likes him a long blue coat, and can't completely forget his semi-paternal instinct to show at least some concern for Renne? Anyway, I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect Harwood might be either a Van from a previous cycle that survived into this cycle (in which case current Van is not invalidated and can still choose differently), or the bad ending for Van where he picks chaos one too many times after shit hits the fan. It's just odd to me how many parallel or parallel but opposite connections Van and Harwood have, and he's totally lounging on that couch in a familiar position even if it's not the Solutions Office couch.
Less important predictions and stuff:
--The whole, "how does the fool be both the 1st & last arcana," is solved: the last enforcer is digital girl Uwuboros, as Campy hijacking Quatre's V-tuber. This enforcer will be, "The World," and it makes sense for them to appear in this game.
--New hat guy in mostly black is NOT McBurn with a different uniform, and may not even be Ouroboros. I suspect he's on team extra devils. I also suspect he is actually just Thorndyke in his Harajuku drip.
--Kasim on the other hand, will have been an enforcer all along.
--Bergard is too. Bergard is whatever arcana indicates betrayal, but his betrayal is to the church, not to Van. I'm torn about whether he will additionally betray Ouroboros or team masked devils, but I'm suspecting the big bulky masked guy is Bergard, and that it is OUR Bergard, not some other/previous timeline one.
--Hermes is also an enforcer or an anguis. "Wait but she's working for Gramheart tho!!" Yep. "They said they wouldn't interfere with Gramheart's business though!!" Yep. They didn't say they wouldn't plant eyes and ears into said business though. They fully intended (Harwood excluded) to not interfere, but they never said they wouldn't be present/involved etc. Hermes will do her job in good faith as Gramheart asked, but when the agreement expires, she gets complicated. Gramheart's going to stress over this. Alternatively, Hermes is a maternal relative of Agnes or possibly Sheena Dirke herself. Maybe multiple of these things are possible at once. It'd be funny if the helmet was her tell that she's Arianrhod's replacement, but I actually don't think she is.
--Because I think Shizuna is. Sorry to all the Shizuna fans. It's how Rean grows and beats le Guin supremacy allegations. Keep in mind that Shizuna may not be openly hostile to Van's group, especially not all the time. Because Van isn't anti-snake, just anti-Walter and not a huge fan of Harwoo--himself? This IS the arc where Ouroboros is playable. This one. You got an Ouroboros arc, you just didn't realize it. Van, Shizuna, Bergard, Walter, Letty, Renne--there you go. Your Ouroboros cast. It's actually kind of funny how many characters in Kuro could volunteer information that they know/are affiliated with Ouroboros, but just...don't, while also never saying they AREN'T part of team snake.
Stuff you wish you remember from Cold Steel III:
--that one time, during the ending, when le Guin said to Vita something about whether or not they will be able to succeed, "this time?" I swear this was in the English localization and may have been retconned but it totally raised my, "possible worlds," eyebrows all the way back then.
Okay that's all I've got. I WELCOME any proof that I'm wrong about any or all of it (but only until the release date for Kai, please don't spoil Kai for me), because I'm not claiming that I'm right in the first place. Some of it I want to be wrong about.

I have also heard in a interview I think tat falcom is finally giving nisa the script before release in japan. So that strengthens that suspicion of mine

Isn't Rean role related to what Master Yun said to him, other than another beef with Shizuna? The Septium Veins (Earth's Veins) are dying (means that Zemuria as a whole is at it's end), and his master had to do some serious shit to impede it and is related to the demons, like the one he has in his blade...
Of course, I may be wrong there and Septium Veins were dying due to the curse before xD

@xXGhostStalker they've already confirmed kuro 2 is coming in early 2025. That more than likely means within the first 3 months of the year. It's not impossible for Kai to also come out in fall 2025, considering they also have YS X coming out this year in October on top of kuro 1 in July.

We still have the entire Eastern Zemuria to explore. Apparently theres two more arcs, so at least one is gonna take place there, and the other should take place in like Remiferia, Leman or Elsaim.

Even it's farewell zemuria....logically you only say farewell to something you'll leave...so here this title doesn't say it's the players that farewells to zemuria but ofcourse the characters themselves in game....so zemuria might be gone ingame or either they will see other part of the world...
