Hi. I have kdl 40w605b and it blinks 6 times. But I take of the screen and turn on tv without screen only with leds. And It stop blinking. Is it a good idea to test?. And when I turn on tv with the screen it blinks 6 time. Please help.
I followed the disassembly instructions and replaced all the back light strips with a kit from ebay. This has fixed the 6 blinks fault. Thanks for the clear instructions.
great
This video has very less views and likes but it was the most detailed video I found on RUclips. Kudus to you.
thanks, like and subscribe to help others find it.
Very nice video.Removing the screen glass is a real mess and in my opinion i think that is better to replace all the strips at once to avoid in the near future new openings the same tv for the same reason.
Indeed check the series voltage and see if they are all within range if a bit off other leds could be getting old.
Thank you for making this detailed video. Mine seems like is dying. There is a distinct buzzing sound accompanied by what appears to me as the tv re-setting over and over again without actually powering off. Ive has it since 2014 and 8 years and multiple moves, cross country trips, I do believe it may be time to move on. I mean, considering what tvs cost these days.
is it LCD or LED?
@@NewsonsElectronics Honestly, I do not know. Is there an easy way of telling?
@@PATW0LF check the power supply board there could be a bad solder joint ie the buzzing sound
hai sir your video is use full to my shop iam all so tv machnie in tamil nadu very very use full and thak you so much sir please many more video you will do sir thank you lot of
no problem
Hi @NewsonsElectronics. Thank you very much for this helpful video. Unluckily (for us viewers), your kindly provided link to buy the LEDs has now gone dead (25th March 2024) and finding the correct LEDs is proving quite difficult these days. To clarify: they are, of course, 2 mm x 2 mm square, surface-mounted 'chip' or 'bead' 3-volt, white light-emitting diodes (LEDs). (In another comment you also mentioned that they are 1-watt LEDs. Is that correct?) Since the television's backlight is dimmable, does that mean these LEDs need to cover a voltage (and/or power) range (e.g. not just 3 V, but 3.0-3.4 V, or something)? Also, is their colour classified as 'neutral' white (Do you happen to know their colour temperature in kelvin)? A lot of the similar-looking LEDs online seem to include a four-digit model number in their listings. Is there a particular model number of LED we could search for? Thanks again. 👍
great video!! i have a sony nsx-46gt1 and i need to replace some backlight led i am wondering if the procedure is similar
all backlight replacements are very similar.
I have the 48" version of this TV. It will power on and stay on with a green indicator light, but the screen will be clear/visible for only a few seconds before going to black. The backlights are still on and there is sound, but I'm not getting any video. Hard reset didn't work, nor did changing either the TUS or main boards. I also ruled out the power supply.
There's an LDHM board that the power supply plugs into, but I don't know what that board does? I've also seen comments about changing out the t-con board but I don't know if this model has one? Any thoughts or insight would be very valuable! Thanks!
The power light change from green to Red and no picture after that. What is the problem n what to repair/replace.
My tv Sony model KDL 40W600B
Hi, my sony kdl 48-650D displays 6 times red blinking light after booting up. I have replaced the main board (only one board in the tv). Still displays 6 times red light. Your video shows same problem. Does this mean there are some led backlight lamps defective? I know it is quite troublesome to open up the front to check. Does 6 times blinking definitely signify that backlight strips faulty? Also there is no SONY logo displayed before it shuts down and goes black screen. Thanks.
Does 6 times blinking means faulty led strip/lamps ?
I have this exact TV. It failed to power on at all and I replaced the LDHM2 power board and now it powers up with a green light. I can connect a device to it and get audio from an HDMI connection. Back light comes on. No video. Did the flashlight test... T-CON?
Felicidades, México.
Hi, great video! I have a similar problem with this TV but I have a green light instead of the 6 flashing red lights. I am wondering how you ruled out a problem with the main board or power board. Is there a diagram of the board somewhere online so I can figure out where to measure voltages? thanks!
90% of the time it's the backlight
Thanks. Great video. I have a Sony 55X93E and it shuts down after about 7-8 seconds with standby LED blinking four times. I have replaced the motherboard and the inverter but unfortunately the same issue. The panel is extremely fragile on this one and don't think I have the knpwhow of how to get to the LED strips - or the confidence of doing it. The TV comes with external power supply and also there is small power board inside the TV (the copper coloured board at the very centre with ten big black capacitors. Is it possible the issue can be with one of these two. I am spending quite a bit on spare parts without knowing what is wrong as four light flashes can mean almost all components of the TV can be at fault except the T-Con board. Please help if you can. Thanks
get an led tester and see if each strip is giving the same voltage.
Our Sony Bravia KDL-40W600B screened on then off and the dreaded 6 blinks...the aggravating thing is that while bought in 2014 it doesn't have even a month of actual playing time because it was in a guest room. Original cost was a bit under $600...is it worth repairing and can you point to any repair places in Columbia, SC, around zip code 29201? Thank you.
not sure, try googling tv repair shops in your area.
I have the same model Sony tv
When i turns it on, I see green power Led, but no picture. Sound is fine, but no picture what could be the problem?
sound like the backlights
I have the same kdlw600b TV. the problem is while running it will stop displaying and start blink 6 times. It will work again when i connect power after discharging /discconnecting the power , what could be the problem
I would get an led tester and check the backlights
one of them could be shorted
My sony has a horizontal black stripe and some lesser obvious horizontal black stripes. Is that the same problem or is it that board you removed at 4:30?
this is not the same issue, horizontal lines could be a bad t-con board or bad lcd
Can i use sony klv-40r402a led strip to this sony kdl-40w600? Is it compatible?
I think it might work but you might have to modify the connection
what voltage should the led strips have if the tv works well?
i can't remember the exact number but i think it was 96V
each led used 3V so if it had 32 leds in series it would be 96V
Exelent
Thanks
Pls where can I get a repairer
fergus ontario
HOw do you know what type of LED to use? (besides the 3 and 6 V ) or is there just one type for all tv's?
you need high power led for TV look online most any led for any TV will be fine, the voltages are usually 3V or 6V
From LG TV they match. Sony does not provide such repairs. My KDL65 breaks regularly. I'm sick of him. Last time I gave it to repair. He is now 4 years old. He was repaired 4 times. Now only the trash can and nothing from Sony.
I have the same problem in my sony kdl 48w600b.. approximately how much it cost to change the whole backlight and if we don't change the whole backlight whats the price of this small LEDs that u replaced?
the leds are about $10 on ebay. search led backlight power leds
@@NewsonsElectronics LEDs are same for all the TV's or its different?
Wow too much work, scrap it
my LEDs turn on but not with intensity. they look very dim. what's the problem?
do they turn off, look at the screen is there any dark spots? it sounds like it's your power board look at the components is there brown spots on the board?
send some images to newsons.electronis@gmail.com and i can help you out.
@@NewsonsElectronics ok thank u bro.
How many volt of one led ?3volt or 5volt?
3V 1Watt, you would never have 5 v options are 3 or 6V
@@NewsonsElectronics which one did you use?
@@bagoestech9941 3V
use can use the led tester to check or if you have a multimeter put it in diode mode and it should light up if its 3v. if it does not light up then it would be 6v
Oke ,thank to sharing with me ..hope this channel always succes
Have the same ne TV. Mad as hell. Shit lasted 5 years. So tired of buying these LED sets. Buying warranties. Not buying warranty. Bring back the Plasmas. LED sets are rip offs.
agreed they need a better design
LCDs are such garbage technology. Not even worth repairing.
then what will you use? I try my best to stop filling up the landfill.
