Oh my goodness, you have nailed it! About 20 years ago my husband had major heart surgery. About 15 years ago I had cancer. In both situations (we have both lived through) I was dumbfounded as to the nonexistent assistance for the care giver. I love that you have brought this to light.

Great interview! Thank you so much for sharing with us! I plan to make a legacy list with my 84 year old mom where we record or write down about her most important treasures. Thank you for inspiring me to put that higher on my to do list!

Boy this hits home. A coworker had significant shoulder surgery and trying to help her is overwhelming because she is basically a hoarder.

My Mom passed away 12 years ago and the thing I miss most is her hugs. Every time I really, really miss her, it's her hugs that I remember the most and though it makes me cry sometimes, sometimes I can still feel her hugs and it lifts my spirits.

I really appreciate you discussing this topic. It's too easy for us to put off these important conversations with our loved ones. Death is something we don't want to think about but making some preparations could give us more peace of mind and less stress.

I'm a minimalist and my husband a pack rat. We had quite a few animated discussions throughout the years. When he had a stroke everything that he wasn't willing to let go of before, now fell on me. I had to deal with that frustration as well as his illness, selling our house, etc.
