I love how you're talking to the camera as a friend in just moving it as your situating yourself throughout the kitchen. It makes us feel like we're with you there having a conversation while you are working in your kitchen

I think it was the hot flashes & sweats that CAUSED me to wake up so much during the night. (I’m talking change the nightgown.AND the sheets level of sweating!). Melatonin + Benadryl just didn’t cut it. Doc finally prescribed a sleeping pill which allowed me to sleep THROUGH the dratted symptoms and life improved dramatically! Glad that’s behind me!

I’m still perimenopausal at 54. I feel like I’ve been perimenopausal forever!
I don’t know if this is a symptom of perimenopause, but I think one of the first symptoms was getting gassy after eating foods that had never bothered me before.
I would also get randomly too warm. I thought that was hot flashes, but maybe not. Because now I have unmistakable, sweaty, annoying hot flashes! 🥵

My first symptoms were my ability to lose weight slowed waaaaaay down, peeing multiple times at night, difficulty sleeping, and brain fog.

I (early 40’s) feel like I have headaches creeping in on me and I have noticed I wake up hot. Not hot flashes, but warm. Also feel like my periods are getting lighter. I hear horrors stories of periods getting super heavy and worse 🤷🏻‍♀️. I need to move more and go lower carb. Yay life! 😊

Omg Robyn i love this new topics you are talking about! My first simptoms were very dry & itchy skin. I never in my life had this problem but about a year ago i started to get very dry skin that would always get itchy and i always scratch myself till the point the skin broke and there was blood everywhere. No body cream was good enough, i tested more than one brand and type and that got me surfing the web for answers. I must say i live in Romania and here doctors don't really care or talk about perimenopause and menopause so your videos are a breath of fresh air for me!

@ChristinaBalan-ui3mp Check into thyroid issues too (simple lab test); thyroid can cause lots of symptoms too, including itchy skin, heart palpitations, body temperature issues & weight problems.

I clearly remember being so excited that I went without a period for 11 months…I was in my early fifties and just knew I was about to be at menopause. Then I had another period and was so mad! 😂. I did eventually reach menopause at 54….best thing ever! 😊

I experienced very heavy period bleeding during perimenopause. Thankfully I was able to stay at home during that time of my life, so I just would not leave the house until the 3rd day of my period, it was that bad. But what really caught me off guard was painful intercourse. Wow, what a downer. And also, hypersensitivity to any soaps for hygiene. When the periods stopped for good, then came the wrinkles. Deep sigh. Womanhood is certainly not for wimps.

My older sister and I both experienced heavy periods. She had to get a blood transfusion, she was so anemic. She’s now in menopause, thank goodness.
I take iron and a hormone that slows down my periods, but taking hormones frightens me a bit.

Watching you do all that chopping … now I want some Cole slaw with beets! (Would add a lot of sweetness.). And I make mine with kidney beans and LOTS of dill, no sugar. Yum!

I am turning 44 tomorrow. My youngest just turned 4 last week. Hot flashes have been my biggest indicator. I think I'm about 18 months in. Even after naturally birthing 4 babies, leakage had not been an issue until the last 6 months or so... I had a terrible cough and noticed if I hadn't had a recent BM, I would leak just a tiny amount. 😅 Oh the joys of being a woman. My joints stiffen like when I was mid pregnancy with my last 2 from excess relaxing. Sigh. And the mood swings. I feel bad for my man... He is a trooper and understands what's going on. Oh... And weight gain. Otherwise unexplained gaining for the last year...like 40 pounds. Tomorrow is also my appointment for a blood draw. Cannot wait for some answers. We will get through this (if I can make it through the summer heat!). Thank you for talking about PM!🤗❤️

First symptom was noticing a lot of hair falling out in the shower. Second symptom came a few years later (about 47), extremely heavy periods that eventually never stopped. I became anemic and had to get a D&C and an IUD and have been great ever since! I get the occasional hot flash at 53.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis in my mid 40s so I guess hormone issues related to that plus being in perimenopause was (and still is now that I'm almost 50) a double whammy. I also had an IUD removed at that time so my periods are off the charts, so heavy and 2 or 3 times each month.

If you’re having multiple menses per month, talk w your Gyn doc - fibroids can cause that too (non cancerous but still troublesome). Easy to check w a sonogram, scheduled at certain time during the monthly menstrual cycle).

I hope you are keeping an eye on your iron levels. ♥️
I got very anemic from heavy periods, as did my sister. She had to have a blood transfusion. I now take a hormone to slow it down.

God bless you, Robin! 46 years old is when it really started. Super heavy, painful, unpredictable periods. Fatigue, brain fade, carb cravings, no tolerance for B.S. , getting a muffin top, insomnia, no sex drive. Oh honey! I'm 65 and still having hot flashes! Argh! You are so lucky to have a naturopath. My insurance won't cover that.😢 It's the price we pay for bearing new life.
