Please! 🙏🏻 If you like Swedish artists you should definitely check out “Laleh”! She is a singer songwriter that’s on a different level than the rest of us, a good one is a song called “Goliat” you will enjoy reading the lyrics because she has talent and such a beautiful way of writing! “Goliat” ruclips.net/video/iuYPKvzfbWg/видео.htmlsi=MoBymTRVFa6mRkL3 (Performed together with a youth choir, at our beloved “Allsång på Skansen”)! Where everyone’s encouraged to sings along, it’s also broadcasted Live on Swedish TV so everyone can sing along from the comfort of their own home! “Some die young” ruclips.net/video/VHX2J7MANHc/видео.htmlsi=kvXLAZSRnA_Kq-vx (A tribute to all of the young people that were shot dead at Utöya, so this is a slower pace that the original version)
i can relate. this track and version is close to my heart, i often listen to it when i feel down. i suffer from depression and the darkness of the night have been my safe space for years, during my deepest periods i exist during the night until daylight and then sleep to avoid the day. the daytime represent all the things that make me feel bad, the pressure from society, forced actions, a constant reminder of things. then the night comes and brings me freedom from the crippling, mind numbing sadness. i embrace the night and i can breath again (sometimes literally speaking).
I love Miss Li. I´m in love with Miss Li. She embodies a kind of whimsical, adorable feminiity that at least I find adorable. She always wear dress... Shé´s ike the last real lady, in a way. Musicale wise I think she´s up their with Amy Winehouse.
I'm impressed how Max connects so immediately to the feel and quality of music. Some people, often including myself, have to hear a piece a couple of times before understanding the genius of it...
This is from the 3rd season of "Så mycket bättre", from 2012, and the artists are 6:18 Darin (b. 1987) 3:19 Miss Li (b.1982) 3:37 Maja Ivarsson (b. 1979) 4:48 Magnus Uggla (b. 1954) 4:24 Olle Ljungström (1961-2016) 3:21 Pugh Rogefeldt (1947-2023) 4:29 Sylvia Vrethammar (b.1945) Each artist get an evening each, when the others sing their songs. They often reinterpret the song, changes it into Swedish from English, or the other way around, or change the genre or style of the song. It's so very interesting, since it often becomes such an interesting mix between the original artist, and the one making the cover, and bringing an old song to a new audience. It's a great concept.
Miss Li was a big fan of Pugh Rogerfeldt and from what I recall, the fact that Pugh Rogerfeldt was joining that season was the biggest reason that Miss Li said Yes to take part of the show. Pugh Rogerfeldt had a lot of popular songs in Sweden, including songs like Små Lätta Moln (Small light clouds), Här Kommer Natten (Here comes the night), Nattmara (Old word for NIghtmare) and Dinga Linga Lena. Pugh sadly passed away last year after dealing with CBD.
Miss Li continues to perform "Här kommer natten" live on (I think) all her live perfomances to this day. She is incredibly talented and writes both witty and deep lyrics. I've been to 7 of her concerts and every single time I'm amazed at the raw talent and her ability to project her singing emotionally. She recently released a new album "Livet, döden och skiten däremellan" (Life, death and the shit inbetween) which is a form of lifestory in which she talks/sings about her childhood to rebelling as a teen, growing up and in the end growing old and dying. I strongly recommend anyone to listen to it and translate the lyrics to understand the depth of this amazing singer. I also recommend you to react to Magnus Uggla, he starred in this season of "Så mycket Bättre" and his, in my opinion, best performance on the show was "Jag och min far". Another one of his songs is featured on the show, - Astrologen covered by Darin. His version of that song is good but his interpretion goes in another direction from the original where he skips the final verse and I feel that it misses the mark of songs essence. So if you've already covered "Jag och min far" then I recommend "Astrologen" by Magnus Uggla. Keep up the great work and thanks for another entertaining video!
Lars Winnerbäck - is a genius in music; His poetry [always in his songs] - is entirely unique! A must listen to! (As I would also say about Tommy Johansson - about the genius in his covers)
When I saw this clip of her doing this song on Swedish tv, I became instantly a fan of this song. It is hauntingly beautiful. I usually don't listen to songs sung in Swedish, but this blew me away. Thanks for reminding me of it,I need to renew my playlist and have this one in it again. ❤from Sweden.
Miss Li really has an amazing style! you should react to more of her songs and the video where she accidentally fell into the water at a live performance😅Really enjoy these "Så mycket bättre" reactions since you get two versions of a song. Darin (the young guy at the table) is a great artist. "En säng av rosor" became a huge hit and I think it will become a wedding classsic. His covers of Apan som liknar dig, Astrologen and What's the point are great.
Listen to more of Miss Li! She's so diverse! I recommend: - Nåt för dom som väntar (from Så Mycket Bättre, also VERY good!) - Kaffe och en cigarett (Cover of the same artist as above, but AFTER he passed away some years after. On a later season of Så Mycket Bättre). - Oh Boy (her breakthrough) - I heard of a girl - X - Ba Ba Ba - Love Hurts Omg, there are so many! You will never regret reacting to them! Btw, I love that you look up the lyrics translated on songs in Swedish (or other languages). I love your channel so much! Beet wishes from Sweden! 🇸🇪
Miss Li & Winnerbäck - Om du lämnade mig nu. Highly recommended. Though I hope there is a version with subs, because the texts brings a large portion of the emotion
Yes, the second song you listen short of in this reaction. Lars Winnerbäck himself is great in Sweden. I can recomend Elegi. But you can choose any, most of them are good.
More Miss Li, that one with Lars Winnerbäck is great and very emotional. Hopefully the Google translated lyrics does justice to the original text of that song, I've seen on a few reactions of yours to swedish music the translated lyrics are off or there's bad mistakes.
From the peogram "So much better" Where the artists interpret other artists' songs, Unfortunately Pugh died, about a year ago, I was at his last concert..
Miss Li is great. Darin joined this episode as well. Please react to his ballad and live performance ‘Den sista sången (the last song) from Musikhjälpen. Thanks!
Recommending Linnéa Henriksson’s version of “Den stora dagen“ The original is Vikingarna with the singer Christer Sjögren. The song is quite geeky but Linnéa sings it so beautiful that I always start to cry when I hear it
It's a very sad song, about an old lady who dies on her birthday, after waiting all day for her kids to come and visit her, but they just forgot what day it was and called and said that they could'nt make it.
Amazing guys! 😍 May I suggest, what others before me has suggested? Darin - En apa som liknar dig ❤️ From this same show of course ☺️ THANK YOU for being you, I appreciate you 🌷 Love from Sverige
Some more Swedish ear candy for you to react to, if you want to keep on this journey. Barbro Hörberg, Ögon känsliga för grönt, "Eyes sensible to the green". Since you are francophones - right? This song seems to stem from the French tradition, and it takes place, if I´m not mistaken, in a park in Paris in spring. I wish I had a translation... It´s a rainy day, she strolls in the park with her man and just take in the spring "with eyes sensible to the green".
If they listen to Laleh it should be her singing at the memorial for Utöya. It was the largest terror attack ever in Scandinavia and she channeled the grief of all of Norway (and the rest of us) in her song. 💔 ruclips.net/video/VHX2J7MANHc/видео.htmlsi=oJk8MTqHSs0mIFId
The format for "Så Mycket Bättre" where a group of artists have their day when they talk about their life and interspersed through the day the other artists interpret their songs often leads to great results. It's common that the performer will just have been told why the song means so much to the original artist and then they have to stand up and sing it to them.. that's a lot of pressure to deliver your best performance ever.
I would really like to see you twoo make a reaction video on Ulf Lundell, our national rock poet. Some people compare him to Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen or Neil Young and he sure is influenced by all those big stars but he mixes that with a genuine swedish touch. In 1984 he had his biggest hit with a song called Öppna landskap (Open landscapes in english). Many swedes wanted to make that song our new national anthem. But that didn´t happen, offcourse. Ha has been very productive since almost 50 years and has made lots of albums with great songs. One of them called "Förlorad värld" (Lost world) is a bit similar to Springsteens old hit "The promiesd land". At least I think so. But there are hundreds and hundreds of songs from this man who actually was born the same year as Bruce Springsteen. Let me give you a few suggestions: Levande och varm (Alive and warm), Gå ut och var glad (Go out and be happy), Isabella or Kärleken förde oss samman (Love is what brought us togehter). I sure hope you will make that video and that you do it really soon! Thanks in advance!
I enjoyed your reaction to Miss Li, it was great! That translation you showed wasn’t very good though. Eg ’människor’ means people not human shoes 😄 and there were more errors as well. Miss Li is very talented and has a style of her own imo. The show ”Så mycket bättre” (So much better) is a very popular show in Sweden and some of the artists have had a new start of their careers, especially those that haven't been so relevant for a while.
Thank you for your music reactions, very interesting. My first recommendation will be Sophie Zelmani, a quiet and delicate self-taught Swedish singer, songwriter (lyrics and music), guitar and harmonica player, accompanied by a great band with her permanent producer Lars Halapi on guitar. She has released some 15 albums during three decades. Accordingly, it’s difficult to pick one representative song, but I would start with either “Precious burden” (from her second album in 1998) or ”Do you remember” (from her latest studio album in 2022; both in original studio versions, poor sound quality live). If you prefer a live video, I would suggest “Once” (a duet with late Freddie Wadling, live on Swedish tv 2003). She is very shy and has never participated in “Så mycket bättre”. In addition to her own compositions, she has recorded a few songs by your Leonard Cohen and her rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Most of the Time” was selected for the Dylan film Masked and Anonymous. Anton Corbijn, who has photographed Sophie Zelmani several times, once wrote that “hearing her sing is like being wrapped up in a velvet blanket and being brought back to ground-level simultaneously”. Back in the 90’s, when her songs were heard in American movies and tv series such as Independence Day and Buffy, she was about to be promoted in the US by Jeff Buckley’s manager but cancelled for personal reasons. Instead, her main audience today belongs to central/northern Europe and China. The Chinese-Hong Kong pop star/actress Faye Wong has covered Zelmani’s tune “Going home” in Mandarin. "Here comes the night" - that's depression that he's talking about. Miss Li is a national treasure. Should be cherished outside the borders, for sure.

Pugh passed away almost exactly a year ago, on May 1st 2023, aged 76.
Sad sad sad 😢😢😢
Oh, I didn’t know that he passed 😢 I think I will sniff some thinner tonight, in his honor.
Remember when I saw this on tv. I cried and laugh at the same time. So intense.
Miss Li is so talented, she is wonderful.
