Also when the text says he's small. He actually says- "I am a small shrimp"
It also seems that in south of Sweden grina means laughing. While in mid/northern it means crying.
So when his dog died he was either very cold or saddened, depending where you come from.

@@djhuxflux Hi I'm Norwegian, in Danish "grine" is to laugh, which we also make fun of them for. I can imagine they say "grina" in Skåne.
Also over here there's a nickname "reka" which means "The Shrimp" or someone spindly is a "reke" but it's largely phased out of normal use

Johan Glans is like our only quality stand up comedian left, Swedish stand up kinda died after the last peak era around 2006-2014 where some of our more prolific figures like Björn Gustafsson, Soran Ismail, Shan Atci rose to fame. Their humour represented an almost entirely new paradigm which was very “urban”. It’s very intelligent, quick, ironic, easy-referencing and incorporating lots of contemporary elements in ie politics, society and culture. If u read this u should 100% check out Johan Glans’ OWN stand up in English (I think he’s in UK), Freudian Slip Productions (they got sketches purely in English also at their “Freudian Slip Prod - English YT-page)

Like a lot of stand up, the way they tell it is the funny part. Johan Glans melancholic, slightly boring style is extra fun if you're Swedish, you can recognize yourself (the Swede) in him - little sullen and little annoyed.
He’s funny, without being rude or obscene, not that I don’t appreciate raw humour, but a variation is always welcome.

The thing a out the elderly is that they eat lozengers as sweets, have set routines like certain foods on certain days. They love social gatherings where cake is served. Stuff that belongs to their era. When I came to Norway 50yrs ago every housewife baked cakes on Friday and prepared for drop-in visitors.

An open air museum that shows old buildings from different parts of the country and how life used to be in Sweden. Farm animals and even some wildlife in fenced areas.
