I have been amazed by Viola Davis for years. What an amazing actress. As soon as I heard that Viola was going to work on Shonda Rhimes project "How To Get Away With Murder" I knew she would win an Emmy. And when I saw her performance in Fences I knew that she would win the Oscar. And Jeffrey is right. The scene with Viola and Meryl in Doubt was nothing short of spectacular. It was like a Master Class in acting.

It's clearly a bunch of fairytales and it floors me how people do not question all the horrible and cruel things god did in the old testament. I mean, honestly, wake the fuck up! I guess why compete against a good friend for the same award when you both can win in different categories.

There are plenty of professions out there celebrating what it means to live a life--people who work really hard to celebrate and foster the lives of ordinary people. This stood out to me as another example of actors patting themselves on the back.
The rest of the speech was excellent, and I like to believe Ms. Davis intended that comment differently than it came across. But, I'm sorry, to suggest that only artists celebrate what it means to live a life is preposterous.
