I swear, I drove the whole way til the sunset was gone and I had a whisky just to complete the experience. That sublime it was
I know this sounds pathetic but driving around in GTA V and seeing an entire world happen right in your screen always felt like a truly refreshing experience and like I'm truly living a chaotic, yet chill and comforting life. It feels as though anything can happen whithout consequences, and being able to play a character that can do anything and live life to the fullest is quite touching in a way, when putting aside the criminal nature of the game. It is a quite unique and abstract feeling that very few games are able to give, but there is something about just seing cars driving around, seeing the purple sunset and the building's lights turn on as you cruise through a virtual society.

It's cool reading this, cause I can just swap the V with III or Vice City and change nothing else about the comment and it perfectly applies to me. GTA as a whole brings generations together, let's hope they stick to their ways.
@David Van Budgie oof that’s not good news especially when the latest AAA games like Battlefield 2042 have been a disaster. Similar situation with EA/Dice where there was a complete new dev team put together to make it. Hopefully GTA 6 will not be the case
No way. A lot of people just played GTA to blow stuff up or just join the trend. Minecraft will always be different to any game ever made. Untouched and pure to generations of kids. It's literally the first game most kids nowadays play. As soon as you hear any song from that game you get unmistakable nostalgia and memories. Be real here; you don't get the same with GTA. Not yet at least.

I mean, there is definitely some nostalgia for the time when the game was brand new and the hype/praise was off the charts. I do miss those days before people started to resent the game because of the lack of a new one. But yeah, until GTA VI drops in the next few years, this game is _still_ my go-to when I just wanna vibe out and drive around, listen to killer tunes, and take in all the little details that Rockstar painstakingly add to their titles--details that are still beyond impressive considering this was released nine years ago.
Parents think this game just gives violence and is a waste of time. But they will never know that it's a game that we did grow up with an amazing memory.
I remember doing this a lot in GTA3 and San Andreas. Just turn on some music and drive around following all the road rules, just cruising. And then someone pulls you out of your car and steals it lol That moment when _you_ become the NPC.
Takes me back when my friends and I would get into some random car and just cruise around, doing random things. Everything was so simple back then, but I found it more enjoyable.

It’s right up there. Nice how timed with music. Edit. I dunno how hard it’d be to edit getting out of car or crashing. Or perhaps rain. Only thing missing from Hollywood style production
Wow, the first time I watched this I thought the whole interior was in game. The color correction you did to each setting was great! Rotoscoping was on par! The transitions during when you moved the camera left or right seemed very tedious to plan and edit, and you managed to include that well too, and so seemed getting the reflections at a high resolution in the mirrors. And of course, the cutting being exactly with the beat. These are definitely characteristics of an experienced video editor. I deeply appreciate the little adjustments you added that you didn’t need to make it great. Also, nice choice of music 😋
I can’t believe it, it’s 10 years now, I joined the military, left it, founded a family, and became a millionaire, I mean so many things happened in this time

I can't help but keep watching this every other day and have the heavy feeling in my chest that's ig called nostalgia from when me and my older brother used to play this together
I'm going to get a pc in a few days and would love to play gta 5 after years of dreaming of playing it...how do I get the most of the game??😩 Edit: i got my PC and I'm finally playing it haha
This is freaking gorgeous. I live in Southern California but I never bothered learning to drive (because I got so used to taking public transportation everywhere). The scenery in this video makes me really want learn how to drive through. A lot of places in GTA5 look almost exactly like the real life places in Southern California, and sometimes I forget that California in general is a really beautiful state.
Born and raised in L.A. There are so many subtle landmarks that only people who are from here would notice. That's besides the obvious ones like the Hollywood Bowl or Santa Monica Pier, etc. I'm guessing it's the same for Liberty City and Vice City. But for a driving game like GTA, I feel like Los Santos is the best of all the GTA cities. It has so many landscapes that you can drive through (wilderness, desert, mountain terrain, dense city, etc). And they really nail the sunsets in this game. For me driving in real life is therapeutic. Don't even mind the L.A. traffic (most days lol). I just like to vibe out with some music or a podcast.
Only four type of people DON'T drive in LA. Children, the uneducated extremely poor, criminals on suspended driver's licenses or insecure liberals just scared to drive.
So nostalgic, I miss the old days where you don't need to grind and compete with other players. Where you get to appreciate the game better. I feel like Story Mode is now better than Online and do whatever you feel like doing without anyone stopping you. No Tryhards, no Griefers, etc. Also, driving around in Story Mode really gives some nostalgia and makes you remember good memories. There's also like a different feel when you roam around L.S while listening to songs similar with "Lady" and "Music sounds better with you" on story mode, it makes you feel so relaxed. I don't know about other people but I'm sure some people feel the same. As said at the start "Try and have some fun. Stop giving a damn and dance, you'll be so much happier."
I've never really played story mode to be honest... But I also never really played Online. I've hopped online every now and then, but usually I just join an empty lobby and play Online by myself. Not really doing the missions either. Just cruising around, shop-lifting a bit, exploring the map. I decided to get some better money once by doing one of the more arcade-y minigames with parachute cars or whatever the heck... and although I made about as much money off that one session as my usual playstyle would net me in several weeks, I was quickly reminded of why I don't do it. I just wanna hang out in Los Santos. Not play games in Los Santos. GTA's a sandbox game for me... and I wouldn't want more nor less.
I dont know, On the rock station with "Big Log", "Night moves", "Baker street" and "The Break up Song" fit more with the vibe & cruise style. but I guess it all comes down to personal preference

R.I.P to anyone who played or couldn't play GTA 5 and will never get the chance to experience GTA 6 because they have passed away. Well, it has been 10 years, boys and girls... I remember when I was 23 years old and barely had enough money to buy a PS3 and GTA 5. Now, at 33 years old, I am self-employed and own two houses. It doesn't feel like it has been 10 years since I first started playing GTA 5. I can still vividly recall playing through the story in a single weekend right after its release and enjoying GTA Online with my friends. It's a strange feeling, realizing how time has passed. It can make you feel old and loneley sometimes, especially when you realize those "friends" from back then are not your friends anymore.
The video gives me a special feeling, something between nostalgia, life flashing before my eyes, and happiness for everything I've been able to experienced so far.

I always knew there was something different about games by Rockstar and other open world games and this it. When you are playing a GTA game there several times where you say "We are definitely coming back here in the story"
This game actually helped me find my way around Santa Monica back in 2016 when I decided to go to LA.Hours of gameplay payed off lol. It's crazy how close they matched some of the roads in this game to real life.
I guess It's the 100th time that i watch this video and the ending always give me chills: That highway that take you outside LS, the sunset left behind and that song slowly turning down never stop giving me that feeling! Like a good memory that you are gonna leave behind. You understand that is good because of the happy and nostalgic music playing but, at the same time, the sunset could represent its ending (the sun itself may represent the bright and joyful memories that you got), something that is slowly disappearing in the horizon, and the fact that the driver moves in the opposite direction of the sunset (and not in its direction) can be taken as a good memory that you are leaving behind inspite it was amazing. I could be wrong and maybe it was just a random scene that the creator took as last clip and i am just overthinking! But, from my perspective, this is how i see that scene, and i can only say Bravo, You nailed it!
Anybody else notice how there were several scenes that cut off right before a vehicular collision? Love the video, but I couldn't help but notice that detail.
I live in Wisconsin and have never been to LA. Yet when I watch movies and TV shows I constantly see places I've "been". GTA V wasn't a perfect game, but it was pretty close imo. When they got it right, they hit it out of the park and into the next county. 10/10 would (and have) play again.
As someone who lives near Los Angeles, this is very accurate view but it is cleaner and has less traffic than the real LA. Almost has a dreamlike feel... I like the GTA version better.
I immersed myself into GTA 4 and 5 so much, i'd occasionally just take a "day off" and just go for a walk a few blocks, sit and watch tv or go for a leisurely drive around town.
This video was made so well The fact you used your real car and also still integrated the scenes in the rear view mirror and side mirrors just made me so happy

This is so well made, big respect. Also like the fact that you were able to create side mirrors while a AAA studio can't
This is a masterpiece!
This lad can make the rear view mirror work but rockstar can’t?
Omg now u say it
I do this with Spider-Man PS4 all the time. I’ve completed the game, DLC, NG+, got all the achievements, etc. So I just swing around all day
The dedication and editing of this video is just wholesome!!!
Fr at first i thought the interior of the car was in game but it's actually his hand and he just overlays the cropped interior to the gameplay 💀💀💀💀
Whenever I go to LA in a few years best believe I'm vibing to this in the car and driving around the city.
The memories! I remember when it just got out, I was still in high school. What a time to be alive it was. To all of you I have played with over the years, cheers and may we meet online again!
Driving in this game is so good, much asmr vibes specially when it's raining
So many great memories on this game.😌 Such a defining game for the GTA series
This brings me back all of those memories from 2013
Im stuck with this song and you popped in to my notifications and I pressed it and DAMNNNN I was never happier by pushing a notification. Your edit is so amazing I put it in my fav.
It's actually even better because all those bad things didn't happen. So chill.
Time spent with friends on this game is just something else. Miss those days
Me too…
The good old days... Getting old sucks
