Nice PC for those users who it is intended for. Camera and mics were good. Speakers sounded okay. Display is good. If you have a memory stick ddr5 lying around you might want to insert it in the second slot and rerun some of your tests to see how much it improves performance. Just a suggestion. Anyway a great review.
Lenovo makes very Premium laptops whether you're talking about their consumer line or in this case, their business line and the ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 is a perfect example of a Premium business laptop. The 1440p resolution webcam is crisp and so is the audio quality of the built-in mics. The audio quality of the built-in speakers is not bad for a Windows laptop. As Andrew stated it brilliantly in this video, if this is the laptop you're interested in or any other Lenovo laptop for that matter, keep checking the Lenovo website as they're always having sales! Great video Andrew!! 👍😁
Hate how here's no amd U option. The chassis cooling is actually great and would be better with just a ryzen 7 u alone and it would compete against the M1 line.
I would love to see a review or a comparison to the HP ZBook Studio 16 G10, they are very similiar on paper an are targeting a similiar audience. the HP one also goes up to a A4000 Ada or a RTX 4080 in a under 2kg package!

And also my X1 Extreme Gen 2 is essentially still doing fine, just the gaming performance has started lacking in the last year.

Please be honest!
could you please talk about it..? because you obviously have something to sat and as a consumer who's considering the P1 with that screen, I'll be happy to hear :)
Hey. In my opinion, P1-g6 is a totally waste of money. I hate everything in it, except the keyboard and the aspect. Where to begin… CPU - whatever i9 13900h can deliver, but expect huge throttling in conjunction with the dedicated gpu. The temperature is crazy high, you absolutely can’t work with it on your lap. The vent will sound like a hairdryer when temp reaches 70 celsius. Under higher gpu load for 10 mins plus, it can go to 90+ degrees; my desk smells burnt (not joking). The battery - what battery? You need the brick with you everywhere and I swear, it’s a brick (0.94 kg). If you don’t have it with you, expect under 1h on very modest load (browsing, teams, some excels and outlook) with cpu load under 10%. Gpu - this is what astonished me; check the price of rtx5000 ada (this is mine). For that money, it does close to nothing. I have it (work laptop) for local inference (ml/llm) and it’s modest compared with my personal m2 max. And it burns, it burns… Then the display - again, no joke, it’s not good. It has great color but a display it’s not all about colors. You can easily see the touch grid and there’s a glow on contrasts (like black text on white background). Because of 4k res, you need to keep the aspect ratio at 250%. And windows (even 11) is not fully ready for that. They advertise a presence sensor (eliptic virtual lock), that’s a garbage, it randomly dim / sleep. I had to disable it. The touchpad is nothing like a smooth experience. The fingerprint reader works on 60-70% cases on the first try. I might be picky but, honestly, for the money, I can’t believe how bad it is. Make sure that, if you dare to buy it, take good care of it to be able to return. And make sure you can return. Good luck!
