I finally made this jig a year ago and it works fantastic! The only change I made is the use of melamine on the top surface. The glue comes right off and I'm not wasting so much tape and having it end up in a landfill. Thanks, Dekay!
thank you for sharing. that was the best version of a clamping system like this that I have seen. you can change back fence. and the using the screws in the clamp feet to keep the bolts from piercing thru the wood is good idea. great job. thank you
Cordialement. Max Bout la Bricole 🔨🔩👍📐🔧👏👏👏
The 3 blocks seem to be lifting up as you tighten. I couldn't tell but are the faces of the blocks cut on an angle to offset the lift ? Seems like if there were some way to "capture" those blocks in place so all of their force is directed towards the wood instead of losing some to upward movement, it would be better ? Still a nice idea.
Great jig. Just finished mine. I love the set screw in the blocks. I did forego the bolt patterns on the table for three t-tracks. Easily adjustable, and moves up against the fence keeping the blocks in place when storing. Looking at adding a bridge to keep the glue ups from arching up.
there are many variations on this design but "simple" is not the word I would use here seeing how convoluted the build is, but the end result works well.
That looks great you just saved me a lot of money as I was about to go out and buy another 12 clamps which are both costly and they take up a lot of space especially during the clamp up stage 😲😁👍 By the way I love that nail and screw storage device which you showed at 1:46 😁👍
Just found your channel recently. Great videos! Suggestions for the clamping table: Several coats of polyurethane would prevent the need for packing tape for glue spills. Also in your next project, when you drive the pin nails in, slant the nail 30 or 40 degrees. The nails won't protrude on the other side thus saving you a little time. Anyway great job and great idea.
Could you put the plans and measurements of the boards? Also the deep socket set you used on the bolts and nuts, where did you get that? What are the bolt dimensions?
nice build, the only question i have is, after you glue an press the wood together, you dont have something on top to keep it from bowing upward while you do the pressing?
All that to make a 1-by-6? Anyway, I'm making a panel clamping jig to make oak panels. None of that massive amount of labor was required. It's just a 24" square of plywood with small cleats on two edges. The clamping pressure is from tapping in several wedges. No big bolts, no embedded hex nuts, no gluing up piles of wood, no moving parts. Uses C-clamps to hold down glue joints.

Excelente ideia. Obrigado 🫂 🇧🇷
Most sensible clamp design i ever saw.👍
This is one of the nicer clamping boards for gluing up cutting boards. Do you have plans for this jig?
Nice one Mr. Dekay.

Trop bien... Nice project. I like it!!!
Nice and clean job
Thank you :)
Nice clamp. Here in California we pay $55 - $65 a sheet for plywood. For us the solution would be to just buy cheap clamps.

How much is the cost to build one? Is it cheaper than to buy the real clamps?

Hola Gracias.
good, congratulations for the channel
Thank you so much :)
nice! Perhaps a built in storage solution for the parts, i.e. the nuts and bolts, and those blocks? well done!
Nothing 'wrong ' with this solution..... but there are simpler ways of doing this...just saying.
