modern studies poor workmen always blame their tools don’t need the expensive workshop to do this project just basic tools and bit more time n care for what your making
FWIW, it just occurred to me that if you put magnets on the bottom of the dogs, they could not only pull up the extension stops but, if you put magnets in the bottom of dog-sized holes in the side of the workbench, they would hold the dogs in place when not in use.
That’s right Ben. I spent my first few months clamping boards to my kitchen sink. Once I made the mini work bench, I would clamp it down to my kitchen table. Now, I have a bora work table that I can quickly put up and take down and clamp this mini workbench to the top. Works great and easy storage!
@Falconhoof Lots of patience and time (the lockdowns helped with that one). I used a wooden handscrew clamp clamped to my kitchen countertop as a makeshift vice, cut all the maple with a Japanese hand saw, cordless drill for holes, and cleaned up stanley no. 5 for flattening and squaring things up. Boy are things easier now that I actually have the vise to work with.

This is the perfect addition to a small shop. I like you try to spend the summer months working outside...what with the long winters we suffer with. Thx for the inspiration!
Have seen other renditions of 'mini' workbenches but I must say, yours is unique, despite its simplistic construction. I like your home made vise mechanism. It really seems to hold the work pieces nice and tight. Excellent job !!!
Bud, the phrase you want to use here is "simple cnstruction" not 'simplistic' . The first is an exprtession of praise, while the latter is definitely NOT.
Thank you. It is so nice to know that some self appointed individual will always be around to edit and revise other peoples mistakes. Imagine my surprise when I opened my RUclips to find out that my very own reincarnated William F. Buckley had decided to proofread my remarks to an Australian craftsman. First of all, the word simplistic in itself, is an adjective. When I graduated from High School over 50 years ago, it was my understanding that an adjective modifies or describes a noun. The word construction can be a noun when used to describe a creation. In using the term "simplistic construction", I was making that very point. My statement, as written, was correct and your interpretation of my MEANING was incorrect. Also, Mr. Buckley, I would like to point out that you spelled the work 'construction' incorrectly. I have taken it upon myself to show you the correct spelling, should it become the object/subject of future attempts to correct someone against their will. Have a wonderful day.
Oh, I forgot. Hidden in my response, I intentionally made another mistake. See if you can locate that mistake. I added it purely for shits and giggles.

@Norbury53 Check with your local cabinet makers. I just got a job at a cabinet maker, we use RIDICULOUSLY good plywood, and we burn our offcuts. I'm DYING looking for things to do with those offcuts. Great video, I really enjoyed watching
SurvivalAustria
I have watched this vid 3 times. Such a nice idea and really makes sense... portable workbench really makes sense for a weekend warrior with no space for a full size bench.. I can just clamp this to the picnic table. Thanks P!
A version of this table is just what I need. Small work space, small projects kind of set up. Thanks for sharing this video.
I really like the dogs........ particularly the ones that don't fit in the dog holes
I like those ones too Howard! :)
Когда кто-то делает своими руками это всегда приятно. Но это просто бомба!класс.
За один только фильм 8 долларов не жалко. Супер мужик.
Для того, чтобы сделать такой верстачок столько инструмента надо, что овчинка выделки не стоит.
Yeah, exactly, what this guy said.
А что это вообще за приблуда такая? Тески по дереву? Неужели проще никак не сделать?
When the weather gets too hot, just store some additional wood in the fridge.
I love how your stuff is practical and good looking
Que preciosidad!!! Es usted un maestro carpintero , que detallista y que perfeccionista. Maravilloso verle trabajar la madera.
Bench dogs versus dogs who think they're the size of a bench? Every Jack I met thought it was a Great Dane or St. Bernard.
What kind of wood is it that you're always using for the scrap stuff. It's beautiful.
Camphor laurel! :)
