    Finally after 3 years, I built the workbench that I once imagined to be the first Get Hands Dirty video project.
    Hope you guys enjoy this super heavy and sturdy roubo style inspired woodworking workbench made out of hard maple and featuring a 12" quick release bench vise!
    Weights about 120kg (265lb)
    Dimensions are 150 cm x 70 cm x 74 cm tall (59" x 27 1/2" x 29" tall)

    I've looked at a lot of Workbench build videos of late and I have to say this bench is far and away the best I've seen. I mean, Wow! I love your attention to the finest of details and how you use the tools you have the way they are designed to be used. Safety first. Thanks for a quality presentation as well. Good lighting, sound and clear narration without useless banter. A joy to watch. You have inspired me to stop wasting time watching video and get into the shop to build my own. Wow!

    Cristiana, I’m being very honest when I say that this is probably the best work table I have ever seen for woodworkers (and I’ve seen at least a thousand). Perfect size, and design for strength plus accessories! Also wanted to say the build itself was “Excellent”. Of course we all make a few mistakes and I appreciate you leaving those in the video for us to learn from. This video seems to have a few more than usual humorous parts in it. More than you usually show. Of course your use of your legs and body on the floating tennon pull should be an Olympic event - haha.
    I know your going to add (or have already) to the center space and put in a lower shelf. I’m curious about the center because you always think the project through to design and make use of every part of your projects. Maybe we will see that you left room for an small opening to put a saw, chisels, marking gauge, combination square etc into while your working?.
    This went long, Sorry! But I was amazed at your thought process and build with an outstanding outcome done without help lifting! (Your twin wasn’t much help). Thank you for sharing!!

    • @GetHandsDirty
      @GetHandsDirty  6 лет назад +6

      Ahaha, yes my twin is a bit lazy... Thank you so much for the kind words, I appreciate them and I am going for a more tradicional split top roubo-style, so the center piece will be a tool holder. Not sure if it is going to get a lot of use or not, but I want to try it out! I do have some humorous parts in other videos, not in every single one, but there are quite a few :) It depends on the moment, I guess!

    Watching the still at the end I immediately thought of Crocodile Dundee. 'Nah mate. That's not a vise. _THIS_ is a vise!!!'. Outstanding job of the bench. It's a thing of beauty, and you'll be rightfully proud of it.

    Beautiful wood - wish I could afford that for my own workbench. Love the roubo type workbenches and the one you made here is one of the nicest I have seen made. Hat's off to you!
    Stay safe and keep building!

    Great video editing and narration. Your videos are always as well crafted as your projects! Also you have my respect being able to lift and move around those bench tops. You also did it in such a way as to avoid injuring your back or knees. Well done all around.

    Thank You so much young lady. You've made a beautiful maple woodworkers bench. I know that it will be even more Gorgeous when you put an oil finish on the maple. Excellent job, you are an amazing craftsman. No pun,.. you're the best.

    It is a relatively simple workbench in concept, but the quality of your build takes it up to the very top level. It’s truly beautiful as well as being strong and functional.

    I love the idea of the wheels, the finish, everything is beautiful.
    I’m going to try to build one like this...
