Of course the music is basically a sacrament, but it was well worth it even just to watch Derek lead the band, and especially the way he’d showcase the other fabulous musicians and his wife. Well, I came to the city
I was running from the past
    My heart was bleeding
And it hurt my bones to laugh
    Stayed in the city
No exception to the rules, to the rule
He was born to love me
I was raised to be his fool, his fool
    Walk that line, torn apart
    Spend your whole life trying
Ride that train, free your heart
    It's midnight up in Harlem
I went down to the river
And I took a look around
    There were old man's shoes
There were needles on the ground
    No more mysteries, baby
No more secrets, no more clues
    The stars are out there
You can almost see the moon
    The streets are windy
    And the subway's closing down
    Gonna carry this dream
To the other side of town.
    Walk that line, torn apart
    Spend your whole life trying
Ride that train, free your heart
    It's midnight up in Harlem

I mean come on , he taught himself slide guitar with an empty pill bottle , after listening to Taj Mahal do Blind Willie Mctell's , " Statesboro Blues " , while nursing a bruised elbow after falling off a horse !!! That was written in the Stars man !!! Derek is definitely a Extremely close second though ☮️☮️

Wish I was there live standing with that huge crowd but I was, I was in a delivery truck (fedex) on a fresh lay of snow on a country road on a blue sky calm day.. 1st one on the road making new tracks and heard this on my radio as I was inside the cab.. I was melting from it. Perfect timing and was staring at wild turkeys, golden and a bald eagle flying above me, the deer and elk grazing without jetting off into the woods... since then my life enlightened better and have a new band to do my Art work with...
