Lol the reason they have stormtrooper aim is cuz they're shooting one handed, while bouncing on horses 😅 😂

Anna, It's nice to see you back on track with this series. Yes, still in Texas. Abilene is roughly half way between Ft. Worth and Lubbock, up north. So a couple more epidodes?
You'd be surprised how well one can see in the "dark" once away from artificial lights. Even by starlight. I take pleasure in hiking - or more likely strolling - in the wild after sunset, If I'm quiet I see many more animals acting normally since they're not alerted by the typical human racket. As for snakes, they're well aware of you (thermal sensors) and head in the other direction. A rattler is dangerous when it's threatened or surprised (like its warm log suddenly waking up).

Yes, the cold dehydrates faster than warm weather. Everyone hydrate! lol

Whatever other legitimate criticisms one may have, I think the show did a fair good job of conveying just how precarious an existence a wagon train transit was. Truly life-threatening temperatures and weather events and wildlife, educing a constant low grade anxiety, exacerbated by an ever present threat of bandits and outlaws (and fellow travelers) requiring eternal vigilance to maybe, perhaps, avoid un-mitigated disaster. The generated PTSD must've been transmited down through atleast two follow on generations.

I agree, even though Texas is a wide state, they should should be further ahead.

Look at a map. Texas is about as tall as it is wide, and I don't recall whether it still was in 1883 but the Texas Panhandle was a true pan handle extending way up into what is now Colorado.

@@iDuckman They are less than 35 miles from where they started. No matter how wide Texas is ... they should be further.

If you haven't already seen Flicka, it's a great movie with Tim McGraw in it, I believe there's some sentiment in the line Tim sys regarding his daughter in yji. AnD it's shown in Flicka also

If what I said was wrong state how and why. With new information I would change my statement. I know that is a concept that is not understood now days. You show a lot with every word you type.
