My father was native american and my mother was white mixed with italian, Irish. I'm proud of mixed heritage and I've experienced prejudice from both sides . I love both native and white. I accept what I am. People ask me what I am I say I'm a human being but there are those who say I just say indian or I'm not white enough to be white. I definitely relate to this story from my deceased parents

Errrrm, you confuse me much with your statement... I am 50% pure Irish, the other 50% of my genetics is a mongrel mix of Italian, French, German and English, all of the above nationalities are "white"/Caucasian... So why do you say "white" is one thing but Irish and Italian are different... is it ignorance or are you just trying to cause divisions between people??

My heritage is mixed too with Native American. I have white skin but black hair. I’ve been told I’m not a Native American because I don’t look it and when I’ve said I have Native American in my family tree, a couple of people have joked and asked if my family were savages. I didn’t cry though. I stood and looked at the people and said “No my family is strong. We just show it in different ways” My mother has always told me to never forget who I am and to be proud.
"I belong to the people and the people belong to this land. We don't dare leave it. Maybe some day you'll find land to belong to and you'll know what I mean." Such amazing foreshadowing considering he puts Dutton ranch on the same land as where he buried Elsa and then future generations put up a hell of a fight keeping it in the family name.
We europeans belong to all the lands, you are correct. To yours too. Just happens to be that way.

Taylor Sheridan is a genius. In this tale, he includes every facet of the Old West, and even the misery is glorious. I'd vote "1883" as the finest Western Story ever told.

I love the way this show portrays Natives and Europeans. I love the respect given to both sides and that even though our history together was tough, I love that it shows how we can love each other and respect each other even with our differences. We are all Americans.

l am crying now after the and of that amazing movie..that is like my love story..l am a kurdish person and my wife is a turkish person..l taught her my indigenius language..we created a big worm life..despite of a lot of differences.. thank you so much..🙏🙏
Elsa… what an incredibly well-written character. I most definitely do not agree with Taylor Sheridan’s politics, but I sure respect the hell out of him. Nice work, Mr. Sheridan. This sir, is your masterpiece. And it is breathtaking.

im irish german on my dads side and irish cherokee on my mom's, i take after my dad in physical appearance of blue eyes, strawberry blonde hair, porcelain skin (sometimes it tans, not so much though ) along with freckles, my mom had beautiful dark auburn hair with black tones to it, olive skin, she had two different colored eyes, one looked chocolate brown, the other a amber like tone to it, they were madly in love with each other, my dad passed in 1993 and my mom just passed in january of this year, 2024. i have the eye shape of my mom though, like almond shaped.
Saw just a part of this clip and decided to watch the show. Thought I was gonna watch just another western… how wrong I was.. this show was one of the best things I ever watched and I was fully bawling my eyes out by the end.. still haven’t recovered..
I lost count of the amount of times I cried.!!

As much as I love Yellowstone, obsess about 1883 and like 1923 I cannot ever forgive the showrunners for making such a heartless and unceremonious reference to the characters of 1883 in 1923. A glimpse of a headstone and a slight comment that was easily missed is not enough to pay homage to the original 1883 family. I went from watching 1883 right into 1923 and was heartbroken. I’ve never typed so many years in one text 😂
I was so disappointed how 1923 ended!!! So open ended. I still have to watch Yellowstone but 1883 was amazing!

I could barely wait for the week to pass for the next episode to be here. Never waited with bated breath for tears to fall before 😢 I think many of us see ourselves in her …..oh the wild,reckless,passionate days of our youth! As long as we can feel and remember in our hearts, those days will never be lost to us❤️

I have yet to watch it... I was scared of being disappointed like how I was with Yellowstone when it went too political and the damn Beth sh*t that kept happening. I would have loved Yellowstone if Beth was never in it. Just give me more love, ranch and horses stories.

As a person who’s never watched the show, this complication was stellar. It’s showcasing a beautiful love story in an interesting time in history along with good writing and beautiful people in the cast. Love it 🔥

Whenever I watch an episode of Yellowstone after having watched 1883…I imagine Elsa’s ghost riding through the ranch lands, doomed never to rest until the seven-generation “lease” has ended.
It took me a while to figure out that the actor that plays Sam is the one that plays the physical therapist interested in Monica (season 5 I think) in Yellowstone. Love all the overlaps in these shows! Also I think Lightnin’ was in an episode of Yellowstone in a flashback scene to younger John Dutton. Younger Rip was riding a palomino that I would swear was Lightnin’ ❤
He also plays Chip in Wind River. I love that Taylor Sheridan retains most of the actos in his shows/movies.

I love the series told the story from Elsa's point of view! It was perfectly done! Also, if you haven't watched the Yellowstone series yet, it's OK! I started with 1923 (watched a few episodes & was so confused who was who and stopped watching to go backward in the timeline to 1883). After 1883, I went on and rewatched 1923. It cleared up who everyone was, the dynamics of the family, and the significance of THAT particular land!! Made me appreciate the characters and storyline so much more. 1883 was AMAZING !! I was disappointed in 1923's last episode, I really hope the next series in the Duttons timeline will jump in right where 1923 was left off!
