I will say one thing when it comes to the Duttons, no matter which ones they are, no matter which generation it is, they love hard and with every bit of strength they have.
It's truly embarrassing how often I have watched this video by now - especially since I haven't even watched the show.. But the love that these two have is just BEAUTIFUL TO WITNESS. I can't seem to stop coming back to it LOL
I love Spencer and Alex and the actors that play them. Too bad Sheridan plans to replace Brandan with Matthew McConaughey in the next series. Just she Brandan!
"There is no sending for me, Spencer. We have a life together or we live our lives apart. Can you do that? Can you live your life without me? You only get to choose me once. The choice will not be offered again." These lines forever changed my perspective on love and relationships
That part with her piercing eyes “the choice will not be offered again” powerful and to the point and the ball is now in your court! Love it! That’s what I want loyalty and no matter what we are bound forever!
They both have that old Hollywood look. There's a beauty and depth to them. I swear, if Sheridan pulls an 1883 type ending where I balled my eyes until I needed Pedialyte, I will riot. Spencer and Alex must get their HEA.
honestly, one of the most moving love stories i have seen. truly a masterpiece, Sheridan. one classically masculine male and a bright loving feminine woman who are just trying to understand their connection. JUST WONDERFUL
Lots of toxic masculinity right, kiling lions , reping women under the sun, being straight forward, demanding marriage instead of proposing , he should be in jail . Oh wait ! He can't be in jail or there would be snowflake gay pride walking colored people to demolish them , right?
Feminine she is, but she's defying all sorts of conventions. And is tougher than him in some respects. Let's not say "Oh the good old day" if you please. The whole point of this story is just how awful they were in many respects.
Star-crossed lovers if ever there were, almost at the Claire and Jamie level (Outlander), and that is very high praise! Their chemistry is off the charts! 1923 ranks up there with the best I’ve ever seen, not only Alex and Spencer’s story, but all the stories weaving finally into one. The series has been renewed for another season, thank goodness! I am totally hooked.
He wrote it like romance novels should be written, but hardly ever are. And with two brilliant young actors to make the dialogue sparkle. (He says he won't even start writing until he knows the actors he's writing for, so he can get the voices right.) So yes, it's marvelous, but I'm a bit perturbed to learn that one way or another, it ends after eight more episodes, that won't be all about these two. Which I hope he managed to hammer out before the strike. I don't cross picket lines. Not even for a bloody good romance.
Have you seen Outlander? The character of Jaime and Claire far surpasses this. And their chemistry not to mention their acting, is off the charts gorgeous.

Not sure if it's just coincidence or planned. But the attention to detail of Alexandra's clipped accent having a bit of German in it is really an obscure and deep cut. Most of the members of the British Royal family were German and in 1917, many German aristocrats defected from Germany to join their Cousins King George and Queen Mary of England, which they rewarded with British estates and titles - which didn't make them very popular with commons or the native nobles. Like I said, not sure it was planned or not, but the slight German in Lady Alexandra's very posh English accent is a really cool historical detail that most people might over look.
Agreed, as if Taylor had to overlay the additional stories to possibly draw attention away from the “Center of Gravity” & primary characters of (the GREAT Escapades of) Spenser & Alex Dutton & then leave us all hanging with a finale that could rival “Who shot JR?” from the 80’s classic of Dallas or possibly “The Red Wedding” from Game of Thrones. 🤔

One of the best love stories on television in YEARS. Seriously. I feel like a lot of people that would love it don't give it a chance just because it's attached to Yellowstone and they have preconceived notions about it. However, it's so much MORE than that.
The love that Sheridan writes about between men and women is so enormous that it envelopes the audience and you root for that couple. Cannot wait for more of this story!
When I first saw this series, I thought Spencer was another generic action-hero cowboy but I am so glad I was wrong. Now that I'm more on my own in college and in a relationship with a wonderful woman who reminds me a lot of Alex in this series, he is the kind of man I want to be. Someone who can defend his loved ones and it has made me understand Spencer more. Can't wait to see him next season!
For people that says that it was too fast: they were adults and not toddlers, they were mature emotionally and mentally and soulfully that they knew exactly what they wanted, they were marked by life in their own way and that made them appreciate what they saw in one another at that level (her indomitable spirit and his fierceness), they both were physically mature that they knew the calling of the wild and they said to themselves that they found their equal their soulmate their one and only. That’s what separate youngling love to real adults love!
I've seen both 1883 and Yellowstone multi times and had some tear jerkers but 1923 I think I've had tears in about every episode. I think in some ways Spencer and Alex have Rip and Beth beat but in different ways. I love this 1923.
Spencer and Alex love story is a genuine one, Alex is all emotion and determination, exactly what a man needs and wants from a woman. Think this love story will generate a lot of debate as it proposes a totally different approach to what happened in this time of confusion. ”Then you understand why I'm asking you to drive faster” could be something like ”Play it again, Sam!” for future generations.
Alex is my favourite female character, if not my favourite character Taylor has ever written. I love the way he writes the women in his shows. Which is rare, a lot of times women written by men are either dull, timid, unlikeable, or just an accessory for the male lead. But he writes them as strong, independent, and strong willed. He likes writing women who aren’t afraid to speak their minds, while still having them stand by their husbands/lovers, but not as a subservient wife, as an equal partner. I think it’s cool that a lot of the male characters in his shows are the leaders, and while they are strong, their women are still “the boss” if you know what I mean 😂. All this to say, Taylor Sheridan is one of the best of our generation, and I look up to him as a writer/director, I cannot wait for season 2.
@@glumphyStoned LOL you obviously didn’t understand her character. She wasn’t submissive to John, she is loyal to him. She felt like her mothers death was her fault, because she was tough enough, she didn’t fight hard enough. So when it comes to John she’s his biggest warrior, but she won’t just sit there and look pretty beside him, she is just as much as a leader as him. Everything I said is the epitome of Beth. SO, NO.
@@CR19731 Bro, common, For sure Beth is a warrior and a leader, i 'm not denying this, and yes she is loyal to him, not just because the guilt she feels about her mother's death, it is also because John is his father and is the strongest man she knows. To say that she is his biggest warrior is a strecht, she is his best asset in some areas for sure, but when the business is for example, KILLING people, it's RIP and KAYCE that John calls, so no, she is not his BIGGEST warrior. She is a great character for sure but she does submit to John Dutton several times, any time she starts to overreacting something and John starts to get mad she literally lowers her head, i mean, we see that on the screen, if that is not submission then i don't know what is, she obey his orders as everyone else does in the family, John IS the BOSS, so no, not all female characters of Taylor Sheridan are "the boss" as you have said.
@@glumphyStoned Beth doesn’t ask for anyone’s permission. She does what she wants, so there’s no situation where she “submits” to John. If he “ordered” her to do something she didn’t think was right, or she didn’t want to do, she wouldn’t do it. She’d do whatever she thinks is right. So no, the word your looking for is not submission. Yes, she does hang her head when it comes to his disapproval, but that still wouldn’t stop her from doing what she wants. But what your saying still doesn’t change my point, I was referring to spousal relationships. Yes most of the women Taylor writes are “the boss”, which isn’t to say they run the shit. I’m saying that their men tend to value their input and they look for their approval most of the time when it’s needed. If you really wanted to prove me wrong, look at Monica. She is most definitely not as outspoken as the other women in the shows Taylor writes. Don’t get me wrong, pretty much everything I said in the original comment applies to Monica in a small way, but not as much. Notice how I didn’t say “all the women” so even then, if you HAD mentioned Monica you would have been wrong. And the fact that you didn’t mention Monica, a less “in your face feminist” character, makes me wonder why you were so quick to jump on Beth. Because you would have been a smidge right if you’d just mentioned Monica. But no, you chose the “loudest” character when it comes to strong women, especially after you used “the cowgirl boss” in a condescending manner. Just makes me wonder 🤔
As a frustrated author, I'm both annoyed and amazed at how Sheridan was able to write one of the most beautiful love stories on television. I just hope my heart can take whatever will be the fate of these 2 in the 2nd season.
Its funny people are like ungh....this is written like a romance novel. Yet funnily enough the greatest most enduring and oft quoted stories in human history are all love stories. I mean even the Bible is considered a love story...divinely speaking. ❤😂 But in this series the relationships are literally the focus of the entire narrative. But Spencer and Alexandra are by far the most compelling. From the first scene these two absolutely capture your attention and their dialogue is easily the most memorable.
Was I the only one hysterical and laughing uncontrollably when Arthur got the BEAT DOWN of his skinny life! It was unnatural how many times I watched Spencer slang his butt off that ship!😅😅😅😅. I HOLLA! 😅😅😅😅. I love Spencer and Alex!
They're really the only things that worked about 1923 (aside from Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford). Without their incredible chemistry and relationship, the show would've been lacking a tremendous amount of soul! I was shocked to see that Brandon Sklenar and Julia Schlaepfer weren't a couple in real-life. I would love to see more roles from the both of them - they were definitely the huge standouts for me in this show!
The story of Alex and Spencer is bigger that the whole movie and actually I will watch season No 2 just because of these two. Julia is an amazing actress.
Alex saying that she’ll find him in Montana so he can go save his family is when I knew she actually loved him. She understands he can’t waste anymore time to save his family, and there she’ll be away from the British.
Yeah, honestly I loved it and the angst of it all. However, the simple solution was he just find another boat and meet her in the UK. He already knew where her boat was docking. They would have had to spend a few days apart tops. Still, I love the drama of it all.
I love their relationship! It is so classic yet different. Their on screen chemistry is off the charts. Whoever chose the actor and actress deserves a raise. I couldn’t help but laugh when the stupid man child slaps him with a glove. Didn’t look like it hurt him at all. Lol. Like seriously? 16:23 I can see why Alex didn’t want to marry him no matter his title, rank or money. I wouldn’t either. The one thing I cannot stand is how Spencer kept on warning and giving that shell of a man, Arthur every chance he could before Arthur pulled a gun which gave Spencer no choice but to throw him overboard. Then the audacity of no one to speak up for him when they arrested him make me so mad. I wouldn’t care how royal a family is. I would speak the truth far more than caring about titles or ranks. Spencer is not to blame for it, only Arthur for not yielding which lead to his own death. Arthur’s father was not helping either. I hope to see Spencer and Alex reunited at the Dutton Ranch in season 2. Thanks for uploading.
Spenser Dutton survived the 1st War, and in an attempt to find his purpose in life, a lovely (newly engaged) British Aristocrat crossed his path & knocked the wind out him. Two forces of nature intervened & carried us all away on their new bound journey (just as Taylor designed for us all), as they both defied death more than once the remainder of that 1st season, only to leave us all on a cliffhanger in the final episode. There is NOTHING Spenser Dutton would NOT do for his Family and his “Darlin” wife, Alexandra (Alex) Dutton, and as much as we are expecting season 2 to pick up where the season 1 cliffhanger left us, it is difficult to look past his comments from the 1st season, “dying is the most alive you’ll ever feel”. I doubt that is the last time we shall read or hear that phrase, as one would be wrong to overlook the extreme in which Timothy Dutton’s character would do in order for Spenser to share that perspective once again in season 2. 🤔
I think Spencer will contract Tuberculosis from the sailor on that boat. He will return to Yellowstone sickly and will eventually die from it. The show was dropping major hints on it in Season 1 Episode 5. Tuberculosis is a progressive disease. It will not show any symptoms at first, but when it becomes active a month, year, or however long...victims start coughing blood and will eventually die. Tuberculosis was pretty much a slow death sentence early 1900s.
I did something similar when I met my husband. I imagined my life the way it was without him…boring and then I imagined him being an open road … the unknown. I chose the open road and since then we go on adventures every year. Follow your heart
STOP!!! This is it, the most romantic couple and story out today!! Perhaps even, if just barely passing, Claire and Jaime. And that is saying a huge amount. Ms Schlaepfer is without a doubt "pitch perfect" bring not just her own sparkling presence to every scene just by being there, but she is so in tune with every emotion that Alexandra is feeling, she is certainly an amazing actress of incredible depth and emotion. She never blinks the whole scene as she rises out of the bed to confront Spenser when he almost leaves her, yet she is steely in her resolve not to let him go, but also to be valued. The dialog is perfect, as i can attest! She says what most women feel, but would not have been able to express right at thst moment: "you only get one chancr to choose me" Than the single tear, than, as he indeed chooses her, her expressions softens, but just on one corner of her mouth, and her eyes, just a touch. Really, i could happily put together a series of videos just reliving and breaking down every scene to show how amazing she is!! If Julia was brand, I'd invest in her in a minute! She is unique, scintillating, pure, playful, strong, romantic and embodies everything wonderful and desirable that a woman could be. From the time of Helen of Troy, Esther, Juliet and so few others, this is the woman for whom men across the ages have slain dragons as well as lions, sacked great cities, sailed the oceans, walked across deserts, cleared whole forests, built cabins by hand in the face of wild animals and hostile natives and now work 80 hours a week to house and protect. For hers is the face that we see, the face that keeps us going when life seems insurmountable. Hers is the smile that lights up our life, her eyes are the wells of eternal life that we want to fall into and never find out way out of. Hers is the touch that every pore in our skin cries out for, the touch that carries wiith it the power of a lightening storm, the electricity of a thousand shooting stars yet also the tenderness of the cool breeze after a soft spring rain and the warmth of a down comforter and a bed of burning embers on a cold winters night. "Yea, though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for the face of my beloved is before me, and to be by her side I will overcome all obstacles"
I will say one thing when it comes to the Duttons, no matter which ones they are, no matter which generation it is, they love hard and with every bit of strength they have.

This show and 1883 are both so much better than Yellowstone has ever been!
These 2 are magic together.
I sure hope we get mulitple more seasons of them.
These two were the best part of 1932. The writing and acting just works.
The love that Sheridan writes about between men and women is so enormous that it envelopes the audience and you root for that couple. Cannot wait for more of this story!
This is by far one of the best love stories I’ve seen
What are the others? I need more))
@@fatimamalsagova2160 The Last of the Mohicans and For Keeps. I love how the male main characters act toward the woman they love.

I love the way Spencer tweeted Arthur off the ship! It was perfect!
This is the 3rd time I have watched this and it just gets better each time! Come on season 2.
Omg I love these 2, I love all the Duttonverse - MORE PLEASE!
They don’t write shows like this the last 10 years maybe longer. This should be the standard of showbiz
13:19 This scene...straight out of a classic movie. I never thought I’d see a scene this intense and this intimate ever again
Really luv these two together. Should build the show around these two characters. I'll watch even if the whole hour was just these two on screen.
The story is just great and the actor and actress just down to earth
So romantic 💖💖 I love these two!!! I have watched it over and over! I can't wait to see more of these two ❤️❤️
Spencer and Alex love story is a genuine one, Alex is all emotion and determination, exactly what a man needs and wants from a woman. Think this love story will generate a lot of debate as it proposes a totally different approach to what happened in this time of confusion. ”Then you understand why I'm asking you to drive faster” could be something like ”Play it again, Sam!” for future generations.
when O when will it continue, how will I know?
I personally prefer, "...dying is the most alive you'll ever feel" "You don't see the romance in that?" sigh
Every scene of Spencer and Alex is the best
All this to say, Taylor Sheridan is one of the best of our generation, and I look up to him as a writer/director, I cannot wait for season 2.
lol Beth the boss cowgirl always was submissive to John Dutton, so no.
Hola. Nombre de la película
The fate of them is they live and have kids to settle at the ranch.
@@ComedyBros5 thank god 😅❤

Where the HELL have I been when now is when I’ve come across this video and show! Looking forward to watching it in its entirety!😊
23:38 what a way to completely humble a member of the royal family, love that for her!
This lady is one of the most charming I’ve ever seen
Best written love story in the past ten years, season 2 will surely be epic.
This preview reminds me of "lovers leap" in Jamaica. This is what real love is 🦅
I've watched the show and I still watch this video 💕 Awesome storyline.
-These 2 are the only reason I want a season 2, hurry up guys!
Sheridans one saving grace, is this masterpiece. 💜
I would say all of this work is a masterpiece.
Taylor please don’t break ours hearts, don’t take all season two for Spencer and Alex to get back together. We need more screen time with them.
She was so bubbly and adorable, my goodness. Just the cure for a lonely cynic.
Its funny people are like ungh....this is written like a romance novel. Yet funnily enough the greatest most enduring and oft quoted stories in human history are all love stories.
I mean even the Bible is considered a love story...divinely speaking. ❤😂
But in this series the relationships are literally the focus of the entire narrative.
I started watching the show because of this video.
The best Dutton couple. Don’t even argue with me.
Season 2 is going to be overwhelming when these two reunite.
Spencer will die of Tuberculosis. The show was dropping major foreshadowing hints on it.
@@woodchuckcider1 I wondered why he wasn't in Yellowstone.. thx!
@@woodchuckcider1 yo whaat
You wondered why he wasn’t in a show that takes place a hundred years later????
@@woodchuckcider1 Whatttt
@@terri639 Haha, yeah! Would've hardly have any story if that's what happened!
@@terri639 Sheridan is going to stretch the eventual union as long as possible to get maximum exposure of this love story.
That part had me crying
Bro I'm a sucker for love stories, i can't wait for season 2
I don't like him either but the glove thing was a traditional way to challenge someone into duel. So it's pretty common actually
Glove hitting is the standard challenge to a duel.
Simply put the best short clip series
I just love when she lowers her voice
So damned sexy!
I got hooked at 2:25 with the way he stared at her.
I find she smiles a lot like Tom Hiddleston's Loki
She says what most women feel, but would not have been able to express right at thst moment: "you only get one chancr to choose me"
Than the single tear, than, as he indeed chooses her, her expressions softens, but just on one corner of her mouth, and her eyes, just a touch.
"Yea, though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for the face of my beloved is before me, and to be by her side I will overcome all obstacles"
that was so poetic
The most dangerous and epic romantic conversation I have ever seen .
They made 1923 watchable, hands down!
Fun fact, thanks to Spencer and Alexandra, the science of chemistry was discovered.
Alex is a stick of dynamite and I love it!
Her character is the woman that dreams are made of!
