- The opening round of the ATV GNC Series started at Camp Coker, SC. Wes Miller and his H-Bomb Films crew captured the action while filming for Huevos 2. This raw footage features riders like Travis Spader, Doug Gust, Tim Farr, Shane Hitt, Joe Byrd, Jeremiah Jones, Todd Vescovi, Ben Jackson, Jeff Seagott, Justin Gandy, Harold Goodman, Keith Little, Jeremy Schell, Jeremy Reynolds, and more battling it out on their Honda TRX 250R's on a rough and sandy motocross track.
You don’t realize how you made some many peoples childhood with what you have done man! I’m still here at 37!
Thanks, it is awesome to hear that. We had a blast making the videos.
@@WesMiller70 right on man !!🤟🏼🤟🏼
Wes, we really appreciate the time you have taken to go through all this old footage and offer us some good insight into the footage. I know media is consumed very differently than years passed, but I'd love to have an opportunity to purchase a box set of some raw footage similar to this. There are still a bunch of us "older" guys who put this stuff on in the garage and appreciate the work done to get it there! I hope you keep this going, amazing to see this footage. Been a viewer since H1
Thanks, I don't think I will put out a box set. But if you guys keep watching and commenting on the videos, that helps. I will have more things coming soon as well. I appreciate the support.
the hybrid time was the best atv race ever ! so many talent riders at this time !
Yeah, there was a stacked field.
Thats some good shit, Never enough OG footage from the 250R golden era!!
I have a lot more.
Love the 250r footage Wes! Thanks for your troubles making these video’s brother!🤘
I'm glad that everyone likes them.
Them 250R hoods are still so sick looking today damnnnn ....
I could watch EVERY SINGLE SECOND of footage you have and I'd pay good money to see it. I grew up on your vids from the OG Huevos Grandes on. These were probably the biggest impressionable things on my life as a teen/20yr old. These videos are like stone tablets of memories.
I keep plugging away at more!
I remember waking up at first light at races and all you heard was 250r getting revved to the moon on quad day getting ready for the races..same on bike day….walk the pits and see 20 grand price tags on built Rs..still have lots of signed stuff from Gust, Jones, Farr and others with most posters in garage..
sounds like a sweet man cave
And the smell of 2 strokes in the morning, it smells like ..... victory.
I got into the huevos game a little late. The first one I saw was when 7 came out. I was immediately hooked and bought 1-6. I loved seeing the progression of the sport on those 250's.
Yeah, some of the gnarliest jumps are in the early videos in my opinion. Guys were sending it through the whole series.
These are awesome! How about Orville TT in 2000? Kangaroo Kid jumped 200ft or something wild I remember also
Yeah, I have some of that.
Keep the videos coming Wes, love the raw footage. Did I see digger practicing on the 4 stroke hybrid with 55 on it?
Yes, there was only that one shot that I saw.
Like other have said, Thank you for putting these out. The 90’s were a great time to be racing.
No problem, it's fun to go through it. Just time consuming.
Tracks back then were way better, more technical and damn that helmet was the best I’ve ever seen
yeah them custom paint jobs on the helmets were sweet back then
Yeah, that helmet was pretty cool. Based off Coop's art that did the Lords of Acid stuff I believe.
I do appreciate what you do Wes. This was the time period a lot of us would eat sleep and breath these atv’s. Later on in the 4 stroke days it just got too expensive.
There was definitely something to be said for the easy of doing a 250R top end!
Hell Yeah 💪.. Miss them days and love watching the old videos.
Thanks, there will be more to come.
Killer footage, as usual. I wonder how Hetrick and Wienen would do if they were racing these guys back in the day. Hey, you wouldn't happen to have any Golden State National footage, would you? Also, I hear of another Legends race coming up. Do you know anything about that?
or they could make a 2 stroke pro class . Gennusa can cut up on a 250r pretty good . id love to see Hetrick on one .
the legends are is at Briarcliff . i dont know the date it was on the ATV podcast
Legends is at Briarcliff in late July. I will probably be there. As far as new vs old riders. I'm of the opinion that any of the top guys in any era would be competitive in the other eras.
@@867diesel Yeah, that would be a cool race to watch. I have a feeling Hetrick would still tear it up.
@@WesMiller70 I'm of the same opinion bud. I think we were all fast in our times with the equipment we had. We were pros pushing our equipment to the brink of its destruction.
Epic footage, Thank you for putting these out there Wes!!
Thanks for watching them.
Hey Wes, do you remember what the tire was these guys would groove and use on the front? I think I remember a Dirt Wheels article about them being a specific cargo trailer tire.
I remember when the front Holeshot MX come out. Dad bought me a set as fast as the dealer could get them. Holeshot MX up front and grooved Turf Tamer rear on my 250R. That was the hot setup on our southeast red clay.
JL trailer tires for front Carlisle Turf Tamers for the rear
@@J.Cartee2 ive still got some in an ole shed out back . the steal belts showing through and grooved bald turf tamers that made me eat shit on 90 foot double because i got out of groove on bald tires 🤣🤣
i got the razzor mx front and rear when they first came out . them and the holeshots were on another level of traction
There were a few car radial tires that were used. The last ones that I remember most guys running were Riken's.
Another killer one. Thanks Wes 👍
There will be more.
Like?... I LOVE this shit!
👍👍👍
The best era by far!
Good times back then.
I'm just hear waiting for the cody haynes 3 wheeler interview. 😂
that guy was funny as hell . i know a few now a days like him 🤣🤣
It's coming, along with Bean and a bunch more.
Raw footage of kangaroo kid jumping the banshee
I have that as well.
Yes
👍
Do you think any of these Golden Era guys could hang with Wienen or Hetrick? It just seems like the skill level is so much higher today.
Equipment and technology is different, training programs are more intense, and 4 stroke motors have insane torque in comparison. With all these advancements, it's truly comparing apples to oranges. You need to imagine the dudes of yesterday in their prime on the modern machinery if today. I think they'd hold their own quite well. So many variables though.
@@YFZ52 I think I disagree a little , when Chad first came on the scene he was dominating a lot of the golden era guys. His skill set was just so much higher and the only one in that league is Hetrick
@@Kermit46 right you are, but let's not forget he was young and the other boys were getting older at that point. Hard to say. Like all sports, the bar seems to get set higher and higher in each generation. It's hard to compare. Chad and Joel (and Jeffrey, Bryce, Hoag, Genusa, etc.) are the modern day top riders that have set this bar. I've raced in the pre-450 days and the 250r's are legendary but also far more of a handful to race than a modern MX build. Respect is due regardless of who can crank the faster lap.
Some of these guys did! Byrd, Natalie, Goodman....
@@Kermit46no he wasn't. Byrd and Natalie were not being dominated by Chad.
