I’ve been binge watching your videos for hours. It’s refreshing to see someone as creative and meticulous as me with their Vic mods. Just bought this part after seeing your vid and figured I’d leave a thank-you!
Thanks for watching.
-Chuck
Also known as "what the fsck is hanging down below your car?"
Yo TP,
I've been meaning to replace this since 2009 when I bought the car. lol
-Chuck
Trying to Google exactly where this goes and it brought me back to your video.
Josh, you are too funny.
LMAO
-Chuck
Great video & information. So it does serve a decent purpose. Thank you! I've been looking at my broke plastic deflector for a while and hearing it scrape the parking curb, lol. It's time to swap it out! 👍👍😎
Thanks for watching.
-Chuck
Can't thank you enough Chuck I just installed mine today and getting everything ready for my trip to Vegas in November this is one less thing to mess with
Right on.
My car still has this .Forklifts does not damaged plastic deflector.Only thing was to improve the fixation.
Yo Barto,
Thanks for stopping in.
Over here when a car meets a forklift it's at the scrap yard. Lol
-Chuck
Chuck! Thanks for bringing this up... My '04 had its deflector taken and put on my 05'... and the 2010 Interceptor, its missing... I'm sure its sitting in the medium of either I-25 or I-40! Those state troopers drove their Vicks hard 😂🤣 My Cuz is a 30 Vet at the New Mexico State Police and he really missed the Vicks... till they gave him a 2020 Expedition!
Yo DMQ,
Thanks for stopping in.
-Chuck
I got one put on a few months ago...I think it was put on correctly. hahahaha Keep the vids coming. Thanks!
Yo Chris,
Long time no see.
I've been out of content ideas for over a year. Lol
-Chuck
Glad ford still got parts for these cars would like they didn't stop making them
Yo Capn'
Don't mourn the loss, celebrate the existence. lol
-Chuck
Excellent
Yo 06,
Thanks for stopping by.
I just ordered a second one for my 2010 MGM, I just need to pick it up from the Ford dealer. It was only $19 with my Costco 15% off coupon.
-Chuck
im playin 16$ at my ford dealer. Should arrive tomorow haha!!! Thx chuck
@@2006Mercury
You win. lol
Hey chuck this is very important for coolant temp as my friend said to me from his experience with this deflector missing
Yo Mr. Bahrain,
Thanks for stopping in.
Does it get warm in your region? lol
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform lol chuck it gets to barbecue temp 😂
Damn Chuck! Did you try driving off-road with your vehicle? Lol 😮
Yo Philip,
Long time no see. Lol
I've been meaning to replace it since I bought the car in 2009. I think the original owner got did the majority of that because I only remember scraping a driveway one, or twice.
I never get caught up on parking curbs because I always park backwards or I'm always looking out for them. Lol
-Chuck
Mine was bent like a raptor claw she's getting a lot better airflow now
Right on.
now i have to go look
Yo Mike,
LMAO.
-Chuck
how did I miss this video until now??? Now I need to see what sort of condition mine are in!
You've seen it a thousand times before. Lol
@@PanzerPlatform true, but I've never really paid attention to what "shape" mine is in
Both my panther cars are missing this item Chuck. I thought it seemed kind of an open area to not have some sort of pan ect to help keep air passing thought the cooling system vs around and under the car. Thanks now I'll have to order one LOL.
Yo Mr. E
Thanks for stopping in.
You have a second Panther Car?
Not just the Stroker Hot Rod Lincoln?
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform Yes Chuck my honey has a 2001 Lincoln Cartier model I fixed up for her she loves it. Yup were a two Town car family.
👌👌👌
Yo SR,
Thanks for stopping by.
-Chuck
I got an aftermarket one from Rockauto for $8. Replaced my condenser/transmission oil cooler already once due to a leak caused probably by a stone. Don't plan on doing that again...
Yo VW,
Thanks for stopping in, and the good feedback.
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform Just mounted it a couple of days ago. In my opinion the most vital thing this deflector does is guarding the engine oil cooler.
Philipp
My grand marquis had this but it apparently didn't take well to my driving so the local shop just deleted it for me. They said it wasn't needed. I've done most my driving without it and haven't had any problems.
My 98-02 Gen lincoln Just has a lip under the bumper. Same for the 1st gens. No shield plate.
@@iliketowncars
Yo Aharon,
Thanks for stopping in, and the good feedback.
-Chuck
I changed mine a few years back, but they inevitably get bent. I hear they make a metal one.
Yo Capy,
Thanks for stopping in.
When you say "they" do you mean Ford?
Or, do you mean like this?
ruclips.net/video/5_swmd-YNC4/видео.html
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform I honestly don't know who makes them, it could be a Ford Marauder part, but I don't know. I did hear a metal one is made though.
Do these car have a splash guard underneath? Trying to find one for my 2009 grand marquis. Too much dust is going under the hood. I believe it’s what caused my abs module to go bad.
I don't think they do.
It should not be too hard to custom make one though.
-Chuck
I need a new one
Hello,
Part numbers are in the description box.
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform hello Sir. Can you please address the cvpi trunk tension spring bars. they are incredibly difficult to adjust and ford never created a specialized tool for them.
@@BabyBoomersDoomer
Here you go;
ruclips.net/video/dZ9kklDmUrg/видео.html
-Chuck
I've already replaced mine before, and it became bent again after several months. Wonder if it's worth the trouble to keep replacing.
Yo, yo, yo Kev Dog,
Long time no see. Lol
When I took the original off to look at it, I considered trimming off the front spoiler since it wasn't directing air flow to the radiator any more.
But, the rear lip that shields the lower radiator hose I think is kind of important based on all the debris impacts on the original.
May you could make a homemade version out of sheet metal that doesn't have such a steep angle for the front, and rear lip.
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform Yo, yourself. I'm still lurking around like I've always been haha. I definitely don't plan on just getting rid of it but I sure am tired of hearing it scrape on these dips in the road.
@@kevin_pao
If you're scraping, maybe your front suspension is worn out.
Or maybe you're just driving too fast for the given road conditions, (basic speed law). lol
I just put a 2.5" inch lift on my rear with new springs & shocks.
Now I want to raise the front a little. lol
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform Well, Chuck, it seems the reason that piece scrapes so much is because it's backwards lol. When I replaced it, I put it on the same way that it already was on the car. I guess someone before me had attached it the wrong way...
@@kevin_pao
LMAO!
My 98 lacks such part as it has that elongated, cumbersome grated bumper that was on 1998 and some early 1998 Crown Vics. They are a nuisance!
Yo S&W,
Take a look at this photo;
www.idmsvcs.com/2vmod/undercarriage/pictures/1998policep71/PICT9457.jpg
The original 1998-2002 deflector was much smaller, and was attached by 4 bolts instead of 3. It appears the original part was superseded with part number 3W1Z-8327-AA and will install in the same location. But you will need to accommodate for the 4 bolt mounting locations. That shouldn't be too difficult since it is made of HDPE.
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform will do and let you know on the status. I plan to replace the front bumper on it since the original was bumped into, paint chipping off and I did a bad job in repairing so i want to replace it with an OEM front bumper from a salvaged CV LX or a brand new primed OEM from a Ford dealer online.
Which direction does it go on?
Yo Bowtie,
Thanks for stopping in.
See 1:02 in the video.
-Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform I am the new owner of a 2003 mercury grand marquis ls and removed mine and reinstalled and can't remember if I put it back correctly
@@Live2die777
The small "lip" should direct air flow to the radiator.
The larger "lip" should protect the lower radiator hose from debris strikes.
@@PanzerPlatform see I did it backwards thinking that the air needed to be scooped more into the radiator
