Jasen, here is an idea of mine: I just ordered this board, one thing I heard is that for the audio is pretty crappy through the stock headphone/mic Jack. I am considering adding a USB hub inside the stick and adding a soundblaster usb adapter (or even a DAC if one wanted to spend $50 for the G1 DAC instead of $25 for the simple Play! 3 adapter) more capabilities and more power). Battle(non)sense debunks gaming performance mythe regularly and he concluded that they don't cause lag. From your video it looks like it should be fairly easy.

Quick note, I followed your instructions step-by-step but it seems the following might be of interest to someone else if they do this mod. The small 2 pin plug from the playstation button (when plugged into the ez mod board) didn't work for me (I think it's labeled LED - so doesn't make sense to plug it in there). I snipped and routed the white to a open ground and the red wire to the playstation/xbox location on the header (I snipped right under the plug - not much wire to go to destination). I also had a problem with the start button not working, ran one of the whites to another open ground and ran the other white cable to the start button on the header. I can't really figure out what the "lock" spot is for - on the ezmod that the author put it into. Also, I bought a full replacement wiring harness - problem is the 20 pin connector on it isn't compatible with the UFB + EZMOD - those pins are used to connect to the EZMOD board. I just bought a 20pin male header (and another harness since I butchered the ground cable off my first) that I'm hoping to add to the top side of the board (by solder or by hot glue), hoping to use this to clean up all the wires and maybe way to bridge over to a brook wireless in the same case.
Do you have any modding for beginners videos? I do plan to buy this stick, however I dont plan to modify it yet as I know very little about electronics, and I don't want to potentially ruin my new stick Either way this video was helpful so thank you for that
The hardest thing about modding sticks it's replacing pcbs, if you get one that supports your favorite platforms you won't have any trouble since replacing sticks and buttons are kinda simple, if you wanna support other platforms and you don't wanna change pcb you can simple get the brook converters, either way I suggest you to get a stick when the new gen of consoles came out to ensure compatibility with new platforms
@@LodanZark yea, one day I'll get to modding sticks to be universal, but for now I'll just get a Brooks converter cuz it's like 40 bucks and I seriously doubt I will play on xbox anytime soon, so it's more of a just in case Thanks tho, I do appreciate it
i accidentally remove one of the top screw and the pair of that screw fell down inside the stick. Do i need to remove the bottom in order to attach it again? Thankyou
The Universal Fighting Board is the most compatible modern console PCB on the market. It lets the FE work on: PS3, PS4, XBox 360, XBox ONE, PC, Switch, Neo-Geo Mini, PS1 Classic Edition to name a few.
You should call this a PITA (pain in the ass mod). The fighting edge is beautiful high quality stick for 200 bucks and i wouldn't do shit to it. If i wanna add a UFB, i will get 4 pcb adhesive stands and i'm good to go.
well i just replaced a perfectly good PCB on my fighting edge for this kit and now it's not working, you better believe i want my money back I double and triple checked every single connection and followed the instructions on this video step by step and i can not get it to work
This is the worst way to get any sort of help. Being cordial goes A LONG way. 99.9% of the problems encoutered with EZ MOD is improper hook up in the screw terminals. If you want help, you are more than welcome to provide detailed information about what exactly isn't working, provide pictures of everything installed, and any troubleshooting you have done via the helpdesk: jasenscustoms.zendesk.com - if you are unwilling to be nice, don't bother submitting a nasty request and reach out to ArcadeShock for a return.

carlos pena - no, I am not making changes to those. They all function the same way and larger terminals get in the way of a small clean build. The only way to really improve the ezmod would require an unnecessary price increase and more wiring included to replace all of the stock wiring.

My R2 button stopped working...then the stick itself stopped working. Blue light is on, on the PCB, but it just won't work?

Yes, don't leave hardware loose in the stick, you dont want accidnetal shorts on the PCB.
