You should. I put in a 4lb tension spring, brushed aluminum balltop and silenced 30mm Sanwa buttons. My stick feels wonderful, and it no longer wakes up my family. 😂

The 1$ mousepad trick is convincing me to do it. I also have a Brooks Universal board and I reccomend it to anyone who will play any game their friends convince them to. If there's gonna be fighting games I know I can bring my stick, and that's super important.
If you don’t want to cut one in half, you could always buy a playing card game mat. They should cover most of the bottom of a stick and are made of the same material as mouse pads
i've never been interested in customizing my own stick before, always just bought them stock, but you make it seem really fun. it's like your stick is an expression of your own playstyle and creativity. never thought of it that way.
I actually picked up and customized my own Etokki Omni after watching this video since my old stick was showing her age. It's been bliss since. I even kept rewatching this video over and over in anticipation of my new stick coming in like a dork. Would heavily recommend the Omni.
this is the most riveting 4 1/2 minute video ive ever seen, holy shit. i was def expecting to enjoy it but i didnt know id be so enthralled; every 20 seconds is a new golden piece of fgc history goodness me
Once again Core A come out with a video that is simply better than any other video about a particular topic. I had literally no idea there was a his much customization available.
I use the Korean etokki Omni and I love it so much. I’ll be getting the gold edition once i get back into college. They’re so beautiful and I don’t think I’ll play on anything else
I'm not much of a fighting game fanatic but I love your videos. There is a lot of dense material to get through but I can tell that you are really passionate about it. Thank you.
Man I remember back in the day (2013) I was trying to make my own fight stick and I couldn't get hold of an xbox compatible card, I ruined like 4-5 xbox 360 controllers from first time learning to solder the connections, they were frickin small and burnt out easily! Then a further 2 of my friend's controllers before finally getting one right, thankfully we went through a few 360s thanks to the red ring so there was an ample supply of controllers. Man we're so lucky now that there are universal fight stick boards out there, I might dig out my old fight stick and see if I can hook up what you got there and get back into street fighter. Thanks for showing your fight stick and how you made went about it.
To the point, concise and no padding. I not only enjoyed the content of the video but also its editing. As another commenter my stick made of plywood. But it’s tailored for shooting games. So it has a jlf with a much shorter throw.
CoreA Film is something I would subscribe to in an instant! I feel like those who are already into your analytical videos are probably interested enough in your style of analysis and presentation to appreciate films getting the same treatment. Looking forward to it in ten years!!!!!
FYI, you can also buy the Omni with Sanwa parts and the Brook Universal Fighting Board pre-installed, or whatever configuration you want between Korean, Sanwa, default, or UFB.
I made my own stick when I was about 16, nearly 14 years ago. Followed all the instructions on Slagcoin. It was Just a simple box made out of Mdf wood with plexiglass. I can't believe you don't need to solder anymore, as I did such a shit job of it lol. Im going to try and get back into it and try doing it as a craft :)
Super interesting listening to someone talk about their stick, gives me feelings of someone describing their custom made weapon of choice, or a car or something
My dad likes korean sticks (despite living completely in the US and Japan) but I like japanese. We both main guile. He still kicks my ass everytime lmao.
I use pad, a DualShock 4. Honestly playing Street Fighter V was a nightmare with its 6 button inputs for basic attacks, and the need to press multiple buttons at once. I’m glad Tekken left plenty of room on the shoulder buttons so I can set them up to multiple button inputs.
I could make a video about my GameCube controller, but it wouldn’t really be the same. It’s amazing how much variety and history these stick controllers have. Great video!
That was some really interesting insight on the Taeyoung molds, never knew the backstory of it and why Myoungshin started taking over before Crown got in and Taeyoung came back :O Also, I absolutely adore your use of Tekken 4 music, a game and soundtrack I can never part with!
man i used to make & sell sticks on online forums back when virtua fighter 4 just came out. ah the days of woodworking & chests of switches & printing custom graphics. i miss doing that.
I just love it when marketing people describe acrylic as 'bullet proof'.... I wonder how confident they would be of that claim if I handed them a sheet to stand behind whilst loading up a rifle.... On a more positive note, another awesome fight stick made with a metal case is the GCOM ArcadeStick, I've been using it for just a few weeks but Lovit.
I recently got myself the Mayflash 500 as my first stick. When I get more used to stick, customizing it will be no real issue. Now I just need to get some artwork for it

I made my son´s the same way, but fancier, and, since he loves Juri from SFV, I kinda copied Gerald stick art...
I would install a sanwa JLF lever with either a ball-top or a bat-top on it, an eight-way restrictor plate and hayabusa buttons into the etokki arcade stick controller.
I have a custom arcade stick by JunkFood Custom Arcades, and I couldn't be happier with it. I didn't add custom art, but was specific with the combination of a purple body with black / white buttons
Awesome video! Always bringing quality content. I have a Razer Panthera for SFV, but I’m considering getting a custom stick with a Korean lever for Tekken to see the difference. Gotta love the airport track! Tekken 4 may not be the best gameplay wise, but it has the best stage music of the series hands down.
@ 2:39, anyone know what that green Board is called that goes on top of the UFB to make it completely solderless? it looks like what EZMOD does but that is specific for which stick but this looks like a universal style for any stick that doesn't use the touch pad but all use buttons. Where can i get those in the US? thanks!
The mousepad idea is really good. I have a piece of skateboard grip tape on the back of one of my old sticks, but it wears on your pants so I stopped doing it. Might have to try a mousepad instead.
