Mostly because the FA20 is a terrible engine. He wants "big power" which he can get his 800whp and have it mostly reliable too. Do that with a build FA20 and it will pop within a year.... thats assuming the terrible gearbox doesn't blow up first.
Except this engine is way to heavy and would ruin the ethos of the original car. I don't have anything against this build and I think it's sick, however it's wrong to say that this should have come like it from the factory as it was designed as a balanced car

1.5 bar boost. 840 HP. 64/66 turbos. Rocket Bunny v2 +(custom). BC racing coils. 6 speed sequential gearbox. Alot of custom Arms. add more that you know in comments. for future reference.

Something that really gets me wondering is that, the boxer was used mainly cause it had such a low centre of gravity. I mean, the 2jz is be powerful & all but the 86 was built with a purpose of distributing the weight 50-50, thereby making it an awesomely handling machine. This defeats that purpose, what gets me wondering is that , having that huge & heavy 2jz upfront in a lightweight car like the 86, let’s face it... it’s not rigid enough(just a guess), does it make the drivability go lowwww?!
