You want permanent FMCB? Get a 7k slim or lower PS2 and get FMCB. If you got 9k model, this is the closest thing we got, so be grateful that this solution exists. I know its not same, but I'll take it.

Project Phoenix Media thanks for the reply, I had a few times, and I rewatched again doing one change for windows 7 based on a reddit users suggestion who also used your windows 8 video. I needed to make a new password protected account on my pc to share the folder with. I also had my port 445 enabled for access in firewall. So now I get into OPL quickly and without error so I can assume I am connected but I don’t see any games. Is it as simple as using OPL manager to rename games? I see a .bin folder by your games, is that necessary/from OPLmanager?

What version of FMCB should i use. I am just using a different version that worked better.. The newer one acted funny. I don't even remember what happen really. Was over ago. So it must of been updated from then.

After some trial an error I finally installed this, I had to wipe off the entire memory card for this to work because my original Fortuna file would get corrupted sometimes (blue blocks instead of the orb and no way to activate uLaunchElf). Just one thing, I have the new version of OPL, for some reason the version that came with Funtuna was unable to save the settings. With the New OPL I managed to save the settings in mc0 where my 16 mb memory card is. However, I can't find a way to save settings inside the memory card itself, the one with Funtuna installed. Everytime I would try something like putting the Funtuna MC into Slot 1 and save them there, the files on that memory card would get corrupted, blue block icons would appear instead of the regular orb and when I press circle to get back it would send me to the original PS2 interface.
Hello, everyone. I am having a bit of an issue. I have a clean memory card and a matrix infinity modded ps2 slim. I used a burned dvd of ulf to open my usb and open the working ulf. Afterwards I copy the funtuna psu file and psupaste it and manage to enter the menu. However any time I try to open Openps2loader or ulauncherelf through funtuna I am back at the memory card browser and all I can do is re enter funtuna. What am I doing wrong?

Since FMCB is compatible on all models but loading games from USB is bad whats the other option for slim models ? I have models with HDDs and they are running fine but slim models running games from usb is kinda laggy
There is SMB (do it from PC, raspberry pi, router, ,nas, etc) or if your got one of the slim models that is compatible with IDE hard drive mod, then that is another option. Or maybe consider if it is freedvdboot compatible, burn self bootable games.
PSUPaste is for first time to install FunTuna. After you copy the new OPL to replace the old OPL, go back to the FMCB configurator and save the .cnf file back to the memory card.

Watch my newer USB video made few weeks ago, I discuss this in detail. In short, use usb util 2.0 to rip those games to root of USB on the external drive and use OPL to play.

Thank you so much for making that possible for me to the team that made free MC boot and funtuna and for you for making simple videos on how to achieve that. But I have a dream of playing LAN with my friends. I have USBs, I have 2 ps2s, 2 TVs, joysticks and working OPL. How can I play LAN whatever game possible ?
I haven't done LAN myself and I should give it a try since I have 2 PS2 systems. I say get a router or hub or switch, connect both systems together, run each game from within OPL and setup network settings accordingly. I think its an issue to run games from smb and play LAN at same time, but that is strictly a guess.
Onimusha Dawn of Dreams Never Works Properly in OPL Regardless of Whether I Do USB/SMB/HDD. It Loads Into the Game But Only Works till the Soki Prologue Area but Right When you Defeat and Drain The health of The First Boss The Screen Freezes. After Giving Up i Bought the PS3 60GB Model And there The Game Worked Perfectly Without any problems and I Progressed There A lot but 5 Days Ago That System Got YLOD(Thankfully I Backed up my Saves on a USB HDD BeforeHand and Converted and Imported them onto PS2 Memory Card) But now Loading off of that Save When I Enter a New Section/Area The Screen Goes Black. By the Way My system is PAL And ISO Region of this Onimusha Game is NTSC. (If that Makes a Difference)
Can you understand the readme file that is presented with FunTuna? If you can boot FreeDVDBoot, then you can follow this tutorial afterwards by PSUPaste the .psu file to the memory card.

Make sure your usbdrive is connected to your ps2, and the config may be saved. It happen because the config saved in your usb drive.

First find a way to boot into ulaunchelf. Once you can do that, then you can copy files from one memory card into another.

I don't think Funtuna is compatible with fat ps2? There is a new version of opentuna that is compatible with fat though.

Per the FMCB code this is not allowed apparently.
The FMCB license stands that the SPLASH screen MUST NOT be changed.

My dvd driver have 2x and 8x so should i use 2x instead of 8x?
I have heard issues of burning too slow or too fast. I used 8x I think on my end, no issues.

I don't know how to troubleshoot that but thanks for letting us know ps3 can do ps1 emulation better than ps1 emulation on ps2

PS1 look into popstarter method. For SNES, need to use a SNES emulator for the ps2.

it's not necessary, but if you want to use 2 memory card it's still fine, 1 for the funtuna and the other memory card for your saves
Technically you can get away with one memory card. If it is Fortuna, boot into it, delete the fortuna folder, then PSUPaste FunTuna

It says this is not an elf
Check the file name extension make sure it ends as a .elf. Or redownload the elf and make sure its good.
