For someone used the archon builds to beat apocalypse, i have some notes about the aphelion. First, this weapon has a linear explosion radius, which means if you shoot it too high, it won't hit anything, so, shoot it as low as possible. Second, this build is amazing with meridian (grenade launcher) because you regen so much mod power with aphelion, that it solves the issue of not be able to have mod power to activate the mod for meridian. Third, this weapon is amazing against some bosses that doesn't have a special arena (Eg, mother mind, final boss, etc), because for some reason you can't really pop the black hole in a reliable manner for some reason (maybe cuz the hit box is different.) But overall you can kite the boss easily because there's really no aiming required besides poping the blackhole. And the explosion radius is so massive, that you can usually hit the boss with 5K dmg every 4 seconds half across the area, and it does go through walls, so you can kinda keep popping the blackhole while behind the cover.
Damm, your lucky... my bosses all have vicious (+133.000% damage) or drain and elemental resistance on Apocalypse. Guess I just got the worst rolls, but I'm at the end of the second world (world boss) and just thinking I need a reroll because everyone who joins to help will fight once and leave because they use Enigma archon melts or tank set ups and don't deal enough damage and boss leechs off them. I honestly don't think I've had anything other then Vivous, drain, elemental resistance bosses all the way through apocalypse. I would mind if it was skull cracker, hearty, thick skin ect...
@@The-Spanish-Inquisition490if you get elemental resist, then I would just use bleed. And bleeds also reduce healing so idk if drain means life leech but if it does I imagine that would counter any healing bosses can do. Same with regenerator
I find that using the star shot as a second works amazing because you can get all 5 stacks of the mod with one shot of aphelion’s mod and it does an absurd amount of damage
For anyone who wants a little extra damage. Start with summoner, pull out a summon, then switch to medic class. The 35% damage buff will still be applied until you die. Just dont sit at a world stone with a summon alive or you'll have to exit game to reapply the buff after switching classes. Its a free 35% damage
Do you think the summons would survive if you swapped out expertise for kinship, and made your secondary summoner with the flyers or big guy? It doesn’t seem like you necessarily need the extra cool down on skills with this build and the 80% damage reduction is a ton
Does Harmonizer buff the Mod Damage of both Weapons or just of the one it`s attached to. Because the Level 10 Effect reads, as if it would effect both Weapons, so if the Mod Damage Buff does too, u could equip Harmonizer on the Sidearm and Equip Aphelion with Failsafe, which does exactly the same (20% more Mod damage) but only on the equipped Weapon/the attached Mod and on top of that, u get a chance of 15% to not consume a Mod charge (not that it would matter with that kind of Mod Power Regeneration) Edit: Ok, i simply just tested it, seems like Harmonizer only effects the Weapon it`s equipped to, just like Failsafe does. But either way, you can just slap Failsafe on your Sidearm and make that Mod an absolut beast too.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't another handgun with firestorm be much better if we're using Supernova and harmonizer since Firestorm pulls everything in and supernova is also an aoe attack? Just a thought.
Now use that same gun for my " burn and nuc the world" build So I use: 1. Detonation trigger amulet 2. Firestone ring 3. Singed ring 4. Stone of Malevolence ring 5. Zania's Malice or Stone of Balance Or the two critical damage rings My secondary weapon of choice is: Star shot at level 10, with twisted wounds at level 10. And obviously my primary choice is Aphelion at level 20.
@@CrashBashL it is due to the fact that detonation trigger only applies the burn damage via explosion which means you would also get the damage increase on the explosion
id use the explosive buff amulet for the fire effect. the elemental damage to mod power ring, and just buff explosive damage. side arm star shot or mod something with song of effier
id love to see a build using the death soaked idol, ahanae ring, fargazer mod, creeping mist mod, and of course stone of malevolence with the other 2 rings being dedicated to skill cooldown reductions like the burden of the rebel for example to get especially with the ritualist archtypes perks, to get like 85% to 95% bonus dmg on ALL enemies hit with at least the 4 main status effects but especially on bosses with fargazer applying the extra madness status effect giving you a further 10% bonus dmg..............
tbf i think there is a creeping mist grenade and because you need the supernova mod as its the whole centerpoint of the build than you could replace either fargazer with the mist or the mist with fargazer as you see fit since some bosses cant be hit by creeping mist if they are flying especially over a void and in the cases where they can, creeping mist gives you more bang for your buck AND it helps your allies too.
Damn when i looted that weapon i was so freaked out thinking i dropped secret op weapon, upgraded it to maximum to realize my build do not work well with it... And here you are, saving my day
Can you show more of a 'Turn and Burn' style build for bossing with this? Would love to see a something that can deal good damage while bossing yet also that can focus on dodging more
I believe archon's prime perk also boost stone of malevolence, even if it doesnt the archon class paired with stone seems to get most mods back with ease and i believe its intended since you're using the mod class as when i don't have archon on my nanoswarm doesnt full charge itself
1:10 Finally! I myself play through module damage. And I take the second class of a medic, because pets die from random explosions. Yes, even my 99% of deaths are suicide xD But on RUclips, almost all reviews of module damage builds are Archon+Summoner... It seems like they haven't even tried to play them. PS: Always considered the Summoner class only for Tank builds.
The Star Shot handgun with max Amplitude trait would make this build even more insane. With 5 stacks you can blow things up that aren't even on your screen. Just make sure to also max Kinship so you don't kill yourself constantly.

On the topic of medic vs summoner, I know you said the damage was too much for the summons. Does this include using Handlers Trait to reduce the amount of friendly fire damage? This and maybe rugged would be a larger investment, but would possibly mean a greater damage uptime.
we tried kinship and it loweers damage but over time its still gets killed, I am gonna give it another try soon cause I have some ideas but medic is a great pick regardless
I’ve tried a similar set up as this with aphelion + star shot and aphelions nuke builds your star shot charges instantly with multiple targets. It’s fun dropping galaxies on rooms but not very good against bosses.
Should we assume this was recorded prepatch? My understanding is that aphelion only goes to +10 now because its considered a boss weapon and the +20 was a bug.
the patch only dropped on PS5 today so yes, BUT I tested this after on APocalypse and it does everything really well, the damage is down from 6.5k crits to 4.6 crits BUT it still kills elites in 2 shots and adds in 1 no matter what so ur good to go :)
It was a bug as boss weapons max out at level 10 but this one didn’t and they fixed it with a recent patch but don’t worry the damage and everything else wasn’t changed
Kinda wanna see a gunslinger quickdraw build because it's one of the more fun abilities in my opinion. I can do up to 3.7K weakspot damage and would love to see it go higher
The issue I've had with this running HUGS is that the Quickdraw has such a long animation. So long that I could easily get 2-4 vow shots off that deal the same or more damage. Is it a cool looking ability, absolutely! Is it the best choice? Not in my experience.
because unless you're perfect 100% of the time apocalypse will 1 shot you regularly so the only way to live is to double your effective HP pool with a shield.
this was on console, after the patch you should be landing around 4.7 k crits which still your gonna be 2 taping elites and destroying any adds so ti will still do everything really well
Aphelion pre patch was able to be +20’d as it was bugged if you check the patch notes they say that they’ve changed it’s upgrades to match that of an actual boss weapon now
Alchemist is a better primary for archon and vastly better than medic. However this is only if you have scrap which I know a lot don't have. Also you should clarify alphe doesn't actually "explode" even if it looks so visually. It does not benefit from any explosion bonus which may confuse some unless I missed it while typing this.

@@bspree5356ok, so he's got his aphelion leveled to 20 which was a bug that got patched. Apparently the bug treated this gun like a regular longarm instead of a boss one. So that makes sense why mines doing about half the dps his is doing lol.
this was pre patch now its +10 but still does 4.3k per hit so ur pretty much gonna be doing 2 tap elites anyway and ur gonna be destroying adds no matter what just as u se ein the video :D its a super fun setup!

I can’t upgrade my Aphelion past 11. Is that a bug or intended because I remember it was a boss wep able to be upgraded as if it weren’t a boss wep.
Also run neck coil and remove crit ring for blasting cap and signed ring. You become NUKE God.

As a vet at mod nuke builds, yes they live. Just add summon health and kinship. I believe it's called rugged trait

How do u have Boss weapon +20 Upgraded with double the normal dmg? Is it a Bug or Exploid. Video is only uploaded 4 days ago.
How do people deal with flyers? (e.g Ne’ rud). Because the explosion is a flat disc it misses most? (Could be I’m bad).

This is basically my build. For primary I use royal bow with Rotted Arrow which does some fun damage with detonation trigger
I pretty much made the same build I call it the super Nova build lol
But the Aphelion explosion is not an explosive DMG even if it looks like an explosion.

I have a pretty similar build except I'm using explorer for the 25/25 buff and using Golden Ribbon for the haste.

Why you don't use Jester's Bell? 20% is better, than 15% plus it's speed up mod and skill use by 35%.

It’s not good enough at high ranks because bulletstorm makes you outpace the damage ridiculously fast

Since patch ain’t out on console yet it’s still treated as a +20 regular weapon
Upgrading doesn't require Lumenite Crystals, it upgrades like a normal weapon. Even though it looks like it would be a boss weapon.
It is now down to level 10 max and is horrible, damage cut more than half.

Lol I paired this with the earthquake on my 2ndary to go for a full mod only build. Was quite fun...until Nerud, too many flying bastards.

Alchemist is a great choise for sure! I just enjoy medic a lot! that said I got some build IDeas for the Alchemist :)

The gun now damages the player so dont bother using it
gun always damaged urself u just gotta place ur shots and time it right
Star shot is way better and far stronger
unfortunately u cant spam starshot like u can aphelion HOWEVER im working on a new NUKE build and that one is kinda cracked :D

its still freaking dope, still2 taps elites and 1 taps all adds so ya

Absolutley. It's not hitting anywhere near what's being demonstrated in the video. I was just curious if you knew what got nerfed or what not.
@@bspree5356ok, so he's got his aphelion leveled to 20 which was a bug that got patched. Apparently the bug treated this gun like a regular longarm instead of a boss one. So that makes sense why mines doing about half the dps his is doing lol.

this was pre patch now its +10 but still does 4.3k per hit so ur pretty much gonna be doing 2 tap elites anyway and ur gonna be destroying adds no matter what just as u se ein the video :D its a super fun setup!
did the patch let u keep urs at +20??
