*** NOTE *** : Here's a comment from Phanteks about the pricing: "Deciding to leave out the fans (3x to 4x fans) made it possible for us to lower the price about $15 . The $5 was a indication of how much a fan would add up to the price per fan, since we would be using the F140MP fans that are normally sold for $16 per fan". This is how they were able to achieve such a price of $189. -Dmitry.
The actual frame itself isn't plastic. Other youtube videos asked Phanteks and they said the only plastic thing was SSD tool-less install/fan slot covers. The frame itself is steel.
Please go over that lian li booth/suite, we here would love to see the cases there as well. This video was great, but it seems like you guys aren't releasing content like last year's computex.
@@randyrodriguez4186 same here, sometimes I get so excited about tech I lose my composure. I just like that they usually give a little more detailed look at things.
On the Luxe 2 how are you going to get dual 480 rads in the front and the side? The fans are basically touching each other in the airflow build without radiators?!?!? Pretty sure it's an either/or not a both unless the rads can be mounted outside the fan brackets.
I want to build a new system with Ryzen 3000, want to build a compact one. Really want one of the case manufacturers(Fractal/Corsair/EVGA/Phanteks/NZXT) to release a new and updated ITX case.
There's a refresh of the Evolv Shift in the form of the Evolv Shift Air. If you want to build mini-ITX using Phanteks cases, that'd be the way to go (unless you want to use the regular Evolv Shift or the Evolv Shift X).
I think that Phanteks is moving away from "cheap" cases, which for some strange reason itx cases tend to be. They assume that people that want to spend lots of money would only go for the big E-ATX cases, like the Evolv X and the Elite, and the Luxe, etc, etc. I don't get why they can't just make a small, Evolv X, like the old Evolv ITX, but fully aluminum and with modern features. So yeah, I think that they are going to leave the sensible ITX cases for the MetallicGear line of cases. The only ITX case that they're going to keep making, is the Shift and its many variants, since they are an "expensive" ITX case. I would be happy with the Shift, I actually reeeaeaaally like it, but it's just that the option for air cooling is just too limited for its size. I'd like to be able to have a at least a 240 and a 120 ml radiator in the smaller shift, and a 360 or at least two 240s in the bigger shift x, I honestly think that with slight rearranging, they could fit in the same area of the current Shift cases.
I built a 2950x x399 system in an Evolv X and it's not been great. Love the look of the case and I bought it because I had a great experience with the previous Evolv mATX TG, but the Evolv X is just too tight for much besides a gaming build. All the stuff you see at these trade shows where it's stuffed full of drives or other configs just won't work with actual cooling and under any kind of load. It's my fault for switching to the Evolv X based in the end mostly on looks and figuring I could make it work, but I may switch to this somewhat uglier case as it seems roomier and more flexible. BTW for those wondering, I was able to fit one particular 5.25" sized combined 3.5/2.5 dual slot hot swap bay into my Evolv X (which is what I need a 5.25" for). I have it sitting on the power shroud at the front towards the bottom of the case, with the drive opening butting up against the glass. Works and looks good, but only one particular drive fits due to butt end of it not being too deep.
Honestly, I'm not blown away by the Luxe 2. It's okay. I like the rotatable motherboard tray, but the case seems to just be a big, empty box without a ton of features compared to similarly sized cases. Still, a relatively cheap full/super tower is a very nice bonus, and there's good rad support too. That being said, I'd rather pay a bit more for better materials, and I still don't like the high-end Phanteks case look, with that separate lip down the right side and around the bottom. Would have preferred to see a super tower version of the Evolv X but I wasn't expecting it.
I just want a case that fits 166.5 mm cpu air coolers (I dont want water inside the pc no matter what people say I dont want water coolers) and also want a tempered glass panel ... And its so hard to find a case with these specs and now watching your video in the end you said something about not having that fabric that helps air through?
For the most part I like the Luxe2 and IMHO it looks better without the fabric. Fabric looks great sometimes at the beginning but give it a year or two of collecting dust and it quickly will look like crap and then if something snags the fabric its not like you can add some touchup paint to hide the flaw... Just far to many downsides to the fabric and glad its gone. Im looking forward to seeing the final specs on that case and the distro plate.
I've been wanting to see more of this case since it was first shown off... And while I agree the mesh front looked better, it's still a great looking case.
Still prefer my old Luxe. This new one would be perfect and a no brainer purchase if it had 3 5 1/4 bays, 2 for dual LCD monitoring/overclocking such as my ROG front base and 1 for a dvd/blu ray drive! Don't like this trend of cases ditching all the front bays, May as well just make an empty rectangle box.
Who really use anything that sits in the front bay these days? The trend is dead because you look at your screen when you use your PC, not the front of the case.. Software and graphs to look at, seems to be more logical than having anything in drive bays that requires your attention, and most people stream instead of using bluray or dvds... It's about accepting how people actually use their products, instead of the products trying to get you to use it a specific way..
UGH! As nice as this case is, there seems to be a disconnect with companies about mid tower and full. You either get a mid tower that fits everything, but tightly. Or you get a full tower that is just a MONSTROSITY. Where is the middle ground? I want a case that is big enough to work in and do a 360mm rad, but not have it look empty.
Not exactly. There is mid tower, full tower and then super tower. Most full tower cases on the market, that aren't absurdly expensive, barely have enough room for 2 360mm rads, and there are only a couple of super tower cases left that arent $600 - 1000. This case fulfills the needs at a reasonable price for people that need space for bigger rads and don't want just a glass box and it's not $1000.
I've got a Phanteks Enthoo Primo right now, I love the case and I've got a dual 480mm radiator setup in it, the only HUGE downside is the staggering weight. This new case doesn't look it's any lighter.
I’m with you, the fabric made it look far more refined and would have likely added a bit of sound deadening. For the air flow hit, as long as it wasn’t too severe I would have taken the hit. Maybe they can do a fabric variant down the line.
Would love to know how crazy you can go with the drives in the back. This would make an amazing case for all my needs, gaming pc, rendering pc, nas, stream pc, encoding pc, workstation. If it can hold 6 3.5in drives in the back it would be the literal perfect case for me.

I've been waiting for a good looking case with 480mm rad support for awhile to upgrade my enthoo primo. I've been pumped since CES for this one. My only complaint is not being able to have that distribution block and still vertically mount the GPU in the top. I can't see a way to make a pcie riser look good to mount it on the bottom. Bummer.
First case was the original Luxe (thanks to this channels review way back when). Surprised to see this hitting a lower price point, I was expecting $225-250, but come on just throw in three front fans at least.
Love the look of it. I have the original and it's perfect for my E-ATX board which is the Asus rampage extream V. Not many cases can handle the Mboard comfortably. Also love the subtle lighting, I modded mine with corsair lighting so I'm hoping I can get all of this to work together. Would have liked a gpu support bracket maybe on the back of the case though.

Phanteks people, if you read this, please make one in white color, please, i will be upgrade mt pc this summer when the new ryzen 3000 series come out and i want to go with the white theme this time.
Don't care for Phanteks removing the six HDD cages from the Luxe 1 version. Not everyone wants to use SSD for storage drives. Their HDD solution isn't the best either in this new case. Looks very flimsy at best. No support for 420mm radiators with triple 140 mm fans. Why does everyone wish to drive us to noisier 120mm high speed fans? Guess I'm stuck with the original Luxe, which if it had tempered glass swing panel and a USB C on the front panel would be killer. As it has everything else I want.
Those TForce Delta SSDs are beautiful, but you need to remember that they overheat like a MF if anyone is considering buying them :P Read speeds are near HDD levels because they thermal throttle.
Do you have actual evidence of this issue with the Delta RGB SSD specifically or are you just ranting about RGB after Jay's video about the HyperX RGB SSD?

Don't care for Phanteks removing the six HDD cages from the Luxe 1 version. Not everyone wants to use SSD for storage drives. Their HDD solution isn't the best either in this new case. Looks very flimsy at best. No support for 420mm radiators with triple 140 mm fans. Why does everyone wish to drive us to noisier 120mm high speed fans?
Guess I'm stuck with the original Luxe, which if it had tempered glass swing panel and a USB C on the front panel would be killer. As it has everything else I want.
if only i knew and could afford a water cooling loop
That's a lot for the price spot
Those TForce Delta SSDs are beautiful, but you need to remember that they overheat like a MF if anyone is considering buying them :P Read speeds are near HDD levels because they thermal throttle.
Do you have actual evidence of this issue with the Delta RGB SSD specifically or are you just ranting about RGB after Jay's video about the HyperX RGB SSD?
The Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2 looks promising.
