I'm really glad that you mentioned that although people are whining about the 17 frame/19 slide, you went over how it was designed for the military where we aren't conceal carrying it; we are usually carrying in a drop leg holster or chest rig. People need to get over it and realize that like you said, it's purpose built. I love the feel of a 17 frame as opposed to a 19 frame, and also love the size of the 19 slide as opposed to a 17 slide. So it's basically what I wanted anyway.

I was in the US Marine Corps, and I am a Glock fan. I bought the 19X mostly as a novelity but after shooting it absolutely my favorite. I carry it on my job as Armed security and as my off duty EDC.... I have found one thing that I dislike and that is with the configuration of the butt of the pistol and the standard Glock floor plate on the 17 round magazine. could be problematic with a double feed malfunction. This is Sootch00's second video on this pistol. I have had and really like my Glock 20, 10mm, for home defense. Also have 9mm firearms, but never bought a 9mm Glock. After having seen this and the prior video reviews on the Glock 19x, when I saw one new in a rural gun store earlier this year, where it was sitting there for $600 and nobody really knew much about it, but I did thanks to Sootch00, and bought it. I love it now. So much fun to shoot, and it is a go to pistol for me now. A younger guy helped me, but I checked out and did the background check with the much older owner. When the younger guy brought out the gun case and all the accessories (3 mags, modular grips, etc.), he seemed somewhat shocked and said, "Wow, you got a lot with this don't you". These new pistols are 10oz+ lighter than the pistols of 25 years ago, higher capacity, much easier to take down, have the front rail for light/laser, and are very reliable. Thanks Sootch! This is one reason why I now support Sootch00 on Patreon. I encourage others to do the same, because there is value here, and Youbtube is making it tougher for these guys.
About the only thing I really love about the 19X is the nPVD finish on the slide, love that. It's not cerakote, it's actually treated into the steel. At least that's what the GLOCK Rep told me in person.
I have ten or so Glocks, some custom Zev Techs as well and my G19X is my favorite stock Glock. The color rocks, has the better leverage and with a G-Code Incog Eclipse, it rides deep but does not poke my balls while having that slightly extra grip to grab onto. Good review!
I finally broke down and acquired a Glock 19. I think it's an outstanding handgun. I have a 43x and Sig P320 full frame. I also have a S&W Shield in .40 SW , I converted it to 9mm with a threaded barrel which made it real close to the Glock barrel length. I wouldn't want to give any of these away as I shoot them as often as I can , my favorite carry gun is the 43x then the Shield. My favorite range gun is the P320 then the Glock 19.

I have owned about a dozen semi autos including 2 other glocks. I love my 19x, it's my favorite pistol in 9mm. But if it's my preference I will still go 1911, lol.
I'm Glad that Sig Sauer p320 won it was expected. I like Glock's but Love Sigs more I'm Glad you made this little comparison I think I'll get the G19X now.
Absolutely love mine. I’m really not noticing any finish wear after 1500 rounds and drawing from the holster ALOT. I think they did a good job with this finish. I also agree the 19x is more balanced and shoots better then the 19 and 17. I’ve never had the trigger pin coming out tho , that’s weird . The 19x to me is perfect from the factory. The only Glock where I won’t be changing anything on it, the only thing I put on mine is talon grips.
Never been a big glock guy but holding and firing a 19x....theres something special about it. Excellent trigger, night sights, good capacity. I had to buy one hahah. The weird choice with not letting gen 5 g17 mags fit is weird from glock but I bought mostly old mags and magpul mags so it's a non issue

I appendix carry the g19x with an aplc with the 19 round mag. Isn't to hard to do just have to plan your clothing around i usually wear a decent flowing shirt or button up so no problems here. If it prints in my mirror with the clothes I'm wearing I just throw my carhart vest on and problem solved.
Ejection pattern on G19X is much more uniform and it ejects robustly. Gen 4 throws brass erratically, and Gen 5 shows weaker ejection. G19X for the win!
I love my Glock 19x. I didn’t get it at first but then shot one at my local shop. Fell in love! I was looking for a 19 but then thought I have so many mags for my Glock 34 why would I start buying 19 mags!? I wasn’t buying a EDC gun. I’m comfortable with my Glock 26. So the 19x made more sense. Don’t regret it for a second!
If I remember right they sold over 100k the first six months. So it’s a very well liked pistol. I went to the range with my g19x and thought I’d be the cool guy but three other people had one there. I was like nooooo but I had a cool chain that I hooked up to my lanyard loop and my woven belt.
I'll get a 19X as soon as they come out in all black. Great comparison Sootch00! It helped greatly in making my mind up between the Gen 4 & 5 17 and the 19X. Great video as usual. Thanks!
Btw. My present shooter is a m9. I don't have a maintenance problem. I don't mind replacing springs and blocks and I certainly don't buy cheap mags. Besides it fits.
I started out collecting Colt 1911s,Beretta 92s and Browning Hi Powers. I always said I hated Glocks. I now have Apx 14 Glocks and I want the G19x😂. Longer I have had Glocks the more I like them. This new one is really cool. The slide stop wear is just cosmetic and you can easily refinished or you can replace it for a few dollars if it gets worn. I have shot one of the Glocks and I like that you can not even tell it’s been fired. So durable. It’s the only gun I never have to worry about picking up and knowing it will always function. So easy to work on and upgrade. Mainly all the only upgrade I want is to put the metal night sights on all of them using Glock factory ones and maybe the trigger disconnect to the 3.5Lb from Glock store. The trigger pin can be pushed back in seconds and I have never seen this to be a issue on Glocks in any video’s before this one
I snagged one last weekend and fired it today. It shoots low, because the rear sight is only 6.1. Try to find one with 6.5. (One dash). I think this is a must have for any Glock fan boy. You will regret not picking one up when they stop making them.
I bought my G19X in February and really like it .....After 500 Rounds .....No Malfunctions and I like the larger grip. I agree it's not a EDC to conceal but it's a great holster range pistol. Who Only Owns ONE Glock Lol ....My EDC is either a G26 or G19 depending on what I'm wearing.
I have used the G17 Gen 5, G45, and G19X pretty extensively. The G17 Gen 5 has a recoil impulse that almost resembles the G34 Gen 4, likely due to the lengthened recoil spring assembly, and slowed timing. The G19X is by far the smoother running out of the hybrid size models (G19X/G45), I suspect due to the new breech face geometry in the G45, which caused significant problems for me, and other users I know.
The lanyard loop is because it was their mhs submission. When we carry the m9 we have it attached one of those old phone cord lookin things😂 idk what theyre called but yall get the idea
The finish on my Gen 5 Glock 19 mos slide release wore off quickly too. I’ve since added an oem extended slide release lever to both my Gen 5 Glock 19 mos and my Glock 19X. The finish on the oem extended slide release lever seems to be a lot better than the standard oem version.
I really like the concept of the G19X, but seeing the frame stretch enough to allow the pin to begin walking out under recoil concerned me. Perhaps Glock should have stayed with the three pin construction model? As a Glock armorer for a police department some years ago, I called Glock when our .40 S&W models started having the same issues. The person I spoke with said that there was nothing to be done but replace the frame/pistol. He said that was an issue with the higher pressures of the .40 caliber pistols but that the 9mm didn't have it start so soon. That was a couple of generations ago during the Gen 3 days. One of our guys had to put some electrical tape over his pins to keep them from walking out on the range until we could swap out his pistol for a new one. It might have been a bad batch of polymer in the frame that was too soft.
John Dilday. Yes, it's been said that Glock shouldn't make Gen5's in anything beyond 9mm because of the stretching/flexing issues caused by the lack of the third frame pin. The Gen5's just aren't as strong but they'll never admit it. I'm tired of all their nonsense so I went and bought a revolver, it's all steel.
I was one of the first usa owners of a Glock pistol, got my first one in 1984 or 85 in Virginia. I never liked the NON-Human grip angle (my first pistol was a 1911 ser. 70 MK IV). I carried a Glock 22 on duty for 13 years and when I retired sold ALL my Glocks and started carrying Springfield XD 45's. Recently I shot a SIG p 320RX compact 9mm and I changed my EDC to that pistol...I have NEVER shot a pistol that practically shoots its self!! When I shoot this pistol I end up with a big ragged hole with 2-3 fliers...no matter what the range!!!!!!
my 19x has a wheaton arms gold barrel and flat face trigger and all the other gold parts from the glockstore to acheive a 2 3/4 lb trigger pull awesome. This thing has NO wall it's sooo smooth. i KNOW YOU KNOW ROBBIE WHEATON and he makes great stuff that I've bought and it works.
I have smaller hands. My first handgun was a G48 but I want a larger handgun to simply focus on fundamentals. Mostly a range/home defense firearm while I carry my G48. Still debating between the 19x and the 17 🤔
Since there is so much hate for the 19x....I like it just that much more.... And just because it is a different from the usual 19MOS that I carry daily.
Surprised no one has said the obvious. Back before Glocks people had the 1911. The perfect carry was the Commander, then the LW CMD. Other than the round and capacity it is the same basic configuration.
Good review! Not for CCW, and people always complain about that, but that's not it's purpose. Makes perfect sense as a duty gun though. Large grip to get a hold of when you need to draw it, clears leather a millisecond more because it's shorter slide, probably swings/transitions targets faster, and faster to pick up sights (versus longer sight radius, a shorter sight radius makes it easier to pick up the front sight), and it's a touch lighter for the guy who has to wear it all day long. Makes sense to me! But...I'm in California, and you can only buy this gun in America.

Nancy Merrell-R you won’t be disappointed . I carry this gun with ease and it shoots amazing. Best gun on the market
It's a great handgun to shoot at the range and I think you'll be pleased. Thanks Nancy!
Skip 19X and go G45
Glenn Southerland Try that in Texas lol.
Ejection pattern on G19X is much more uniform and it ejects robustly. Gen 4 throws brass erratically, and Gen 5 shows weaker ejection. G19X for the win!
Good analysis. Another video showed the metal night sites. Also discussed 19L with 17 slide/19 grip.
I'm buying one just for the lanyard loop! :-)
Lanyard loop engaged
Great review of all 3 Glocks, thanks. Love the bloopers.
This is the video ive been looking for. Thank u Sir.
I own the 19X and the only thing I see that should have been included would be the MOS system.
I went with the G45 MOS and immediately put night sights on it and the maritime springs. PB color is good stuff but black is classic.
Just got mine a week ago, Talk about perfection.... my first glock personally I’ve always used sig.. Amazing pistol!
Bought mine today. Never wanted a Glock before. No buyer’s remorse, shoots great, looks great.
Thanks!
Thanks Brother! Hopefully Glock will release it in Black. A lot of people are wanting the original color.
I think the X would be a good Bedside stand gun. It had a rail for a Light/Laser.
That a what I intend to have it for looks so nice with a light on the 45
This is my favorite pistol thus far. Glocks my favorite in general but this 17- 19 combo was just what I needed 👍
I would like to see a velocity comparison between the three!
17 will have the greatest velocity just becuase it has the longest barrel.
That joke was freaking great! Thx for the cool review
love the 19x
perfect duty gun
dont udnerstand the hate
"The G19X is spot on" 😀
Btw. My present shooter is a m9. I don't have a maintenance problem. I don't mind replacing springs and blocks and I certainly don't buy cheap mags. Besides it fits.
"Biggest advantage, that lanyard loop" Awesome! :)
Love my G19x. Especially milled for the trijicon RMRcc. My go to pistol
Got them all including a g34 and the g19x and g45 are the sweetest shooters for sure.
Wait a minute....... Did you just say the biggest *advantage* of the G19X is the *lanyard loop?*
WHAT!?
-
lol
Sounded like sarcasm to me.
DW B, JusticeAA - Yes sirs, got it when I saw it. Just having some fun.
The lanyard loop is because it was their mhs submission. When we carry the m9 we have it attached one of those old phone cord lookin things😂 idk what theyre called but yall get the idea
Some people actually use pistol lanyards.
It’s great for people with large hands honestly, much more fitting than a 19
J Circ that’s the only reason it’s appealing being 6’6 with yeti hands
I think every review of this gun should include a side by side comparison of a Glock 19 with a +2 extension!
My favorite glock and my favorite pistol in general. Made it my EDC
Nice vid on the 19X. I really like mine. I love how you show your bloopers.
Thanks Brother! Keeping it a little lite at the end keeps it fun.
I never shot a Glock pistol I didn't like. They just work. Nice review Sootch. I may have to add a 19X to my collection.
I love that gun. I love the color. But I still would choose the Glock 17 for combat gunfights if given the choice of the three.
Yep, it was clear from the video the 17 was the hardest to control. Difference between 19 and 19x was smaller but still noticeable.
The trigger pin walked because it's not seated right in the frame.
@sootch great video as always I just bought a gen 5 Glock 19 now I’m thinking of getting the 19x 🤦🏽♀️😂
Taneka Bowens might as well get the G45 now. G19X doesn’t accept all Glock mags like the other Glocks do.
I love my G19 think I'll give the 19X a try.
Got one and love it had strok on right side so now shoot left handed. Not easy making the switch right eye dominant
@@JamesSmith-xs1yy I'm Lefty and right eye dominant..I know how you feel
@@JamesSmith-xs1yy keep your head turned to the left a little bit and keep both eyes open and you'll be able to aim with your right eye no problem.
I'm left eye dominate and a righty so I have my head slightly turned to the right while aiming and get a good sight align up fast
My next Glock,will be # 3probably Mod 48.to go with my 19 ,43x.
I got a 19X last week and put about 150 rounds through it the other day... probably the softest shooting 9mm I own.. its very nice
Thanks for the comment Joe. It's a sweet shooting gun.
Sootch where you been!?, it sure is good to see you again😊
my 19x has a wheaton arms gold barrel and flat face trigger and all the other gold parts from the glockstore to acheive a 2 3/4 lb trigger pull awesome.
Still debating between the 19x and the 17 🤔
The 19x is my duty gun and my winter EDC
Not a huge Glock fan, but I love my 19x.....I also have a 43x and love it as well.
Eye opening review. Never could figure out why Glock would go this direction. Hopefully a G26L will be next! Thanks Sootch!
Just got one of these today. Can’t wait to get it out to the range. I still love my M17 and M&P 2.0 though. 🤔
I'd say the most notable improvement that Glock made on the 19x was when you shoot, skinnymedic will appear on your left.
Lmao! The biggest advantage of the 19x... the lanyard loop... lmao! I love my 19x
Another great review of an outstanding offering from Glock!
A excellent video on the glock 19x 💯👍
I love the last message at the end of the video. Always. And I bought the gun.
G19X has just become my edc. my old G19 gen2 was great but my wife took that one as her edc.
*Pay attention trolls* - One advantage of liking ALL the guns is that you don't get any bias for one manufacturer or the other.

So true. I can find merit in any gun that is reliable, accurate and durable. The rest is personal preference. Thanks Frank.
Most excellent! Especially the riotous bloopers.
Your videos are always on point. Thank you Sir.
Thanks Marvin!
If you can't ccw it, you might be a 8 year old girl.
I picked one up yesterday, I hope to get out with it today or tomorrow.
