One thing I miss from SF4 that the others never did. The "OH SHIT" face the characters make when you do an ultra.
specially when they realize they are about to get punished you gotta see some ex like Ken after his showryuken and he s about to land and you do your ultra he s looking at you as you are behind him and the look on his face is funny !! i just love when i counter an Ultra with an other Ultra ! etc... thank you

09’ers represent. SF4 was the first fighting game that I put serious time into and it’s always going to be a favorite.
I remember buying the OG streetfighter 4 and playing it so much it was jeopardizing my school/job. I read a rumor online that certain 711s were breaking the street date so i drove around to the closest 30 stores and just about every single worker looked at me like I was crazy 😂. I think I got trolled lmao. Any way 4 is goated

I miss SF IV. As someone who plays videogames for decades and plays SF since the world warrior in the 90's, to this day at least for me, SF IV is still the goat.
I played (and still plays) a lot of fighting games like kof, GG, Tekken, MK, SF, Injustice...but SF IV will probably be the best of them all for me for many years.
here s finally someone as old as me i guess i m 39 and have been playing FG on pc , arcade cabins and consoles for about 30 years now and still i m looking forward to get to even 50 years playing FG oh yeah !

I can’t lie. SF4 aged the best. Going back to SF4 tournament matches are more hype than any other SF game.
There is a lot of cope in the replies, but not a single person writing essays about “nostalgia” is naming an SF title that they believe aged the best as far as going back and watching tournament sets.

No disrespect to Fuudo but EVO 2011 should've been won by Poongko. His Seth was pure hype. And that match against none of than DAIGO, in which he chugged the red bull and took his jacket off, lol.
4 and 3S securely goat tier. The perfection of 4 was robbed of an optimal arcade scene/age. As much as i love the game, it's missing local, open arcade memories like that of 3S and MvC2.
Players today will never know the subtle intricacies of lining up your tokens and counting who got next.

Of course it is. It has the heart of 2, and feels like a modern (for the time) remake. The slightly manga/anime-cartoonish art-style, the warm colours, the beefy announcer. the arcade-like music, and all the Street Fighter and Capcom fighters legacy being revived through it constitute a great Capcom fighting game - and my personal favourite.
On the technical side, it has amazing depth, and is open to creativity; while the demanding execution is the ideal seal: if you can do it you can go that much further, if you can't you can still play very effectively in a simpler manner. And all the different playstyles, from neutral and footsies, to all-out aggression, or a solid defensive style; everything can work. Characters played uniquely, and players each had their own style.
To me, a remake of IV, with ArcSys-style graphics, refined balance, and some tweaks here and there is a dream game; they could just keep adding characters for decades.

SF4 will always be my personal favorite street fighter - it's where I got to know all my homies and spend way too much time duking it out. Still play this game a lot, just something about it. Just accessible enough that anyone can hop in and have a good time, and just broken enough that the lab monsters can have a field day.

I still go back to watch all my fav matches to this day. The best, all-time, hands down and forever. The best part is the sheer amount of characters in every Top 8.

to answer your question Justin. YES. I remember watching your tournament runs, but dear to my heart are the times you showed up on Excellent Adventures and smoked everyone with a single button. Me and my friend were just talking about SF4 and you drop this gem.
6 is great and 5 was cool by the end but 4 was by far the most hype
Street fighter 6 is pretty hype where have you been after its amazing success at evo and the inclusion of fatal fury characters.
@@lampad4549 I just dont find it as fun to watch. The execution is a lot simpler and seeing every punish combo do 50% or more due to drive rush isn't exciting. 6 at evo was a snooze fest compared to 3.

SFxTK lets you be so much more creative with combos, and has so many great mechanics. It has the gameplay that SF4 should’ve had. I love SFxTK.
The only reason i still watch any sf footage is because I liked sf4 and I’m waiting for a game where combos are actually challenging again and gameplay sometimes showed you something exciting and new.

SF4 is the game that exposed me to fighting games. It's my stomping grounds. I don't play it anymore because without rollback these games simply aren't fun online. SF4 needs it like no other game.
Modern internet gets you great connection despite the code.
@@vovancho when it's like 40ms yes it's good but even at 70ms it just completely falls apart. In a game with difficult execution such as 1F links it really would be a godsend to have rollback.
I only have a ps3 so I can play some of the best fighting games, games like kof (97 until 13), street fighter (2, 3 third strike, usf4, alpha 3, alpha 2, explus 1,2 and 3 etc...)
But usf4 is my favorite fighting game so far, even without rollback kkkkkk

Dunno about best but EASILY the fighting game that had the biggest impact on me was SF4. Couple quality of life tweaks and rollback, and this game would stand toe to toe with just about any fighter today. It still feels crazy good to play

It's a war crime that Viper, Rufus, and Hakan never returned and all we got from 4 was Juri and Seth.
Hakan is one of my all time favourite SF characters. Incredibly fun to play and totally unique.He really should make a comeback.

The only fighting game I kept for so long in my shelf because it was not only fun to play but it's addicting. I remembered back in college we played this for thousand of hours. Love the music, the sound effects, the art was top notch and the mechanics was badass.

This game is still so incredibly hype to watch. I wasn't tired of watching it even with SF5 around the corner. I hope it makes a comeback in the near future.

I took a break from fighting games since SFV launch up until a couple of months ago. I picked up SF6 and liked it more than I expected to, but I was pining for the old days of SFIV..
To my delight I have managed to find a solid group of people still playing regularly, the game holds up so well and im down the rabbit hole of re watching tournaments and content from the SFIV days. It was truely a golden age!

SF4 still the best tournament videos of the FGC on RUclips, no SF gets Hyper than NLBC Dr smuggles duff city 😂 Santhrax salt and all that good stuff.
SF4 has so much dynamism in its gameplay. It was just as much fun to watch as it was to play, certainly at tournaments but especially the good ol Excellent Adventures. I feel like theres still a lot of potential in the game that never got truly realized. I wouldnt be opposed to the next SF being a 4 remaster.

I love how it looked, but I never really could get into it.
Ultra Street Fighter IV made me a Street Fighter fan I ended up really loving many of the characters and world, when the SF 30th Anniversary Collection was announced I was excited as it was my chance to play the games I missed out on, really loving Alpha 2 and Third Strike especially. Though if I’m going back to Third Strike today, I’m playing Online Edition on my PS3, and I’m playing Super Turbo via Ultra Street Fighter II on Switch.
Seeing those missed Gouken combos broke my heart. Still love this game so damn much.

SF4 is like that very simple game but the focus attack mechanics make it so complicated, I'm sure if this game didn't correct the inputs to roll specials it would be one of the most difficult games in history

The downside to SF4 is that no one plays on the stages with the awesome music. Whatever happened to the construction stage or the stage with the breakable plane wing? Or the zany youths at the Tokyo Underpass? Or the Cruise Ship? etc etc?
I went from Alpha 3 on PS1 to SFIV on Xbox 360. It felt amazing to finally get back into SF - I ended up buying every iteration of it. I was utterly hooked on playing it online, even if I was far from being a good player 😅. Towards the end, I was more than happy if I could maintain a 50% win rate..

SF4 def. had the best mix of highly demanding execution and "good enough" stuff you could do. There was always something to optimize + character specific combos were more prevalent. Also don't forget the extra set of normals every character had, which allowed Capcom to give every character just more to work with in each situation.

My #1 favorite SF of all time. It’s difficult to remember which version I prefer but it’s not USFIV but I loved Vanilla since the first character I started playing was actually Sagat. I kept a physical copy so that I can play it completely without any updates ruining (or fixing) Sagat. Always been a Ryu/Ken/Akuma/Sakura player but just by chance I started playing Sagat on release day and obviously was kicking the crap out of everyone. Been playing in the arcades since SFI and if SFA/SFZ counts as an even number then I have never liked the odd number releases (1, 3 & 5).
SF6 actually has a good chance to be my personal SF GOAT depending on the support and characters they add in the future. Akuma and Ed are the only two from season 1 that I play and so far I think Bison might be my only one for season 2.
