because the left have convinced themselves that they are morally right, and fighting for left wing beliefs are what good people vote for allegedly. A) Don't say stupid things B) Don't say stupid things C) Don't say stupid things.
Ordinary people aren't really that left wing.
Ordinary people don't all work for the government or have secure private sector jobs.
Labour lost the 2010 elections because of the Global financial crisis.
Labour lost the 2015 election because they refused to defend themselves against the charge that they were responsible for the global financial crisis (because they hated Blair/Brown). And also Milliband was a weak leader brought in to change the election rules to give Len McCluskey control over the leadership.
Labour lost the 2017 election due to overtly incompetent leadership.
Labour lost the 2019 election due to overtly incompetent leadership again.
Labour will probably lose the next 2 or 3 elections because the general population think of them as out of touch and incompetent.
Labour cannot assume that they will win any elections simply because the Tories become hated. It does not work that way. They must inspire confidence into ordinary people that Labour can make their lives better.
BUT - they must NOT say or do stupid things

I'm American so sorry if I'm I'll informed but wouldn't it be wise to move labour past the north. I understand if it was a big loss of reliable locations but if they really wanted to retake parliament, I doubt they can do it by relying on the north and Wales.
The whole reason they lost the north in the first place was because people in that area wanted to get brexit done more than the long negotiations that had gone nowhere and the Tories used that as a way to get them on board. Basically what I'm saying is the labors dont need to be Boris Johnson, but they need to understand the people and communicate to them in a way that appeals to them

I think people see the need for fundamental, radical change in this country” 😂 Yes we seen the need for fundamental, radical change in this country that we made sure that the Tories got their biggest majority since the Thatcher days! We voted for our democracy and to ensure that those of us that work hard aren’t having our hard earned money taken off us and given to the work shy and lazy! Labour were against Brexit and that is why the people didn’t vote for Labour, the same applies to the Liberals. Scotland was different as the people voted for the Independence Party SNP. If Scotland becomes independent and then holds a referendum on returning to the EU I believe the Scottish electorate will vote against the EU.
