How come the electorate know why labour are unelectable yet the Labour Party are clueless as to why.
i thomas I believe they are in denial even now. People like these contenders are quite simply out to force their own beliefs on the country. They have no desire to carry out the instructions of the people
i thomas - for the same reason Dr Who is dying, because THEY know best and we the people NEED to be educated
Because they are blinded by their own virtue signalling
They don't listen they tell and dictate. Your views and mine don't matter to them only their views count in their world.
because the left have convinced themselves that they are morally right, and fighting for left wing beliefs are what good people vote for allegedly. They'll blame this defeat on Brexit, I think for Labour to get the real wake up call it needs it needs a repeat of this election result when the campaign was solely based on run-of-the-mill domestic issues
Jeremy Corbyn shouldn't be blamed, he should be thanked for the election defeat

Transformative Manifesto.
As in, it would transform the UK into a financial basket case?
A) Don't say stupid things B) Don't say stupid things C) Don't say stupid things.
Ordinary people aren't really that left wing.
Ordinary people don't all work for the government or have secure private sector jobs.
Labour lost the 2010 elections because of the Global financial crisis.
Labour lost the 2015 election because they refused to defend themselves against the charge that they were responsible for the global financial crisis (because they hated Blair/Brown). And also Milliband was a weak leader brought in to change the election rules to give Len McCluskey control over the leadership.
Labour lost the 2017 election due to overtly incompetent leadership.
Labour lost the 2019 election due to overtly incompetent leadership again.
Labour will probably lose the next 2 or 3 elections because the general population think of them as out of touch and incompetent.
Labour cannot assume that they will win any elections simply because the Tories become hated. It does not work that way. They must inspire confidence into ordinary people that Labour can make their lives better.
BUT - they must NOT say or do stupid things
The Labour Party will never know why they lost. Nobody can tell them why because they have made it virtually illegal due to political correctness.
On the doorstep they said, hmmmm, how many doorsteps in normal towns and city's do these people ever really step up to and talk to the general public about the things we think and want??

I think Brexit screwed over Labour and Corbyn was too soft and didn't stick to his principles.

This is like 1983 and 1987 when it was the Falklands War's fault, nothing to do wiv us, honest mate.
If Boris was the leader of labour he would kick asses easily on anyone in history of leaders.
"I would like to move labour to the north"
I'm American so sorry if I'm I'll informed but wouldn't it be wise to move labour past the north. I understand if it was a big loss of reliable locations but if they really wanted to retake parliament, I doubt they can do it by relying on the north and Wales.
The whole reason they lost the north in the first place was because people in that area wanted to get brexit done more than the long negotiations that had gone nowhere and the Tories used that as a way to get them on board. Basically what I'm saying is the labors dont need to be Boris Johnson, but they need to understand the people and communicate to them in a way that appeals to them
Well said Sir. Their problem is that Labour is run by North London champagne socialist virtue signalling idiots talking to each other and no one else.
The 'Northern Labour voters were OK with Blair but turned against Brown. So Labour shifted left and they rejected Milliband. So Labour shifted further left and Corbyn was too much for even die hard lifetime working class Labour voters. He was defeated in 2017 despite the worst Tory election campaign ever and slaughtered by the positive 'can do' Tory messages in 2019.
Labour treated Brexiteers with abuse, disdain and disrespect forgetting millions of them were Labour voters. Never insult your core vote.

They STILL don't get it. All three continue to try and ride two horses for fear of 'momentum' power !!

Who cares?
Labour turned there back on the working class after the miner's strike and the pits were shut down. That was the start of the death of this country's manufacturing industry
Labour are no longer anythings like Kier Hardy's Labour representative committee it's now a bunch of wealthy upper middle class privately educated career politicians whose main interests are their bank balances and their positions in the hierarchy they want to get into number ten because it's more money
British manufacturing had been been in decline for years before 1984.

The guilty one there is S I R Starmer with his rabid anti Brexit rhetoric.
Thats what cost Labour the gig.

Mass immigration is also one of the big issues. Not sure why it wasn't brought up today.
Because they don't care about the big issues this country faces, only small issues that are decreasing their personal income.
Still got no hope of even being an effective opposition never mind taking government. Labour need to unite and challenge conservatives or the worst of both parties will be allowed to manifest.
Sadly I think labour are not engaged with the real public of this country.
Lisa Nandy says she doesn't want to move Labour to the centre, but what she fails to realise, is that the last time Labour were successful, they WERE more central under Blair.
Now she serves as a minister despite finishing 3rd she serves under New New Labour Starmer, she was playing to the audience here.
Starmer genuiny sounds as though he is being assaulted with a vibrator.

Labour..are not the same party, as my great grandfather voted for back before ww2 etc...NOW they are full of patronising, stuck up, hypocrites, that HATE the working class,...I had a Labour councillor call my wife and me RiffRaff...I shouted we come from good hardworking, honest family, and we work hard for what we have...she was Smirking, till I said I'm making a complaint to Corbyn, but guess what...he did nothing to remove her....so I tell everyone what she is like and should be voted out
Have they learnt nothing?
Arrogance can be very blinding
The phases "sensible economic polices" and "the European Union" don't belong in the same sentence.
The manifesto was not feasible. I researched it thoroughly with an open mind. After a while it really seemed hopelessly so.
no it was keir starmer and emily thornebury....grooming gangs had something to do with it as well
There were no evidence Sir Keir Starmer tried to block the prosecution of Muslim grooming gangs to prevent Islamophobia.
I disagree Brexit was the primary cause of the loss
Just one of many causes I think, a strong cause but not the only cause by far.
Short answer: No, first-past-the-post was
Nandy: “I don’t want to move Labour to the centre. I think people see the need for fundamental, radical change in this country” 😂 Yes we seen the need for fundamental, radical change in this country that we made sure that the Tories got their biggest majority since the Thatcher days! We voted for our democracy and to ensure that those of us that work hard aren’t having our hard earned money taken off us and given to the work shy and lazy! God bless the Tories and god bless the U.K.! 🇬🇧

@@BigAL0074
Get a dictionary, the last time I checked, work shy and lazy does not mean disabled or sick. My wife is disabled and I don't think that there's anything wrong in that statement.
Fact is they are nutjobs, talking to other nutjobs who have a say not to the wider electorate. Fact is the country does want fundamental change....that's why they voted Brexit and that's why Tories offered it. These people have to be intelligent enough to know what's wrong, but if they say it their DOOMED as far as Labour membership votes go.
What a ridiculous question...of course he was along with the likes of Abbott, Rebecca Wrong Bailey. The UK public are not fools and could just how dangerous Corbin and co would have been for the country. Mr Starmer on the other hand....
Labour were against Brexit and that is why the people didn’t vote for Labour, the same applies to the Liberals. Scotland was different as the people voted for the Independence Party SNP. If Scotland becomes independent and then holds a referendum on returning to the EU I believe the Scottish electorate will vote against the EU.
SNP isnt even an independence party they're a pro EU one

Jeremy Corbin represents the working man as he had a very posh upbringing etc so does this mean he is behaving like a hypocrite.

Yes. 100% yes.
No, it was the whole Labor leadership he appointed that lost including this lot.
Lisa Nandy is the best choice because she is real and understands where the faultlines are.
