- It could hardly have been a worse night for Labour - as one by one, that so-called 'red wall' of rock solid heartlands crumbled into dust. (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
And now, after the worst result for the party in living memory, and in this radically different political landscape, the political recriminations have already begun.

How's your Johnson doing oh yeah he's gone now you have your wonderful Truss well done you you must be heartbroken;-) hahahahahaha
Its simple in 2017 Labour said we will honour the referendum result, we will support leaving the EU then once MPs got elected they blocked a deal, blocked no deal and wouldn't allow an election until they run out of excuses. Now in 2019 they say trust us, vote for us what did they think would happen?.

This is hardly an argument, if I list all the things the other idiot promised and had 9 years to deliver, and still hasn't and yet people elected him, perhaps you've all collectively suffer from the Stockholm syndrome.
The reason he was not elected is because he was accused of anti-Semitism that's what favoured the other side. (This is of course if we're to believe that the vote was genuine)
I don't believe that the people had a say in this at all, I know they elect who they want, when they want, if they want. And this is why I have never voted in my entire life and I will not vote for as long as I live.
@ Samuel Barry
You say you don't vote... THEN YOU HAVE NO SAY !! END OF.
... But let's approach this as if you are or seem to be a Labour sympathizer.
Labour's own MP's have denounced Corbyn. So they are wrong... everybody is The majority of the people have Stockholm Syndrome. Or the vote was fake/false/rigged. Delusional...although you do sound like many of the MP's and their comments of late.
Good grief even many of your own MP's have denounced Corbyn, and a former front Bencher ( until very recently) has said he was a very poor communicator to his own MP's, in that he wasn't a talker.
So everybody who voted, or rather who didn't vote Labour were wrong? Then the comments after the fact including your own MP's and party members are wrong? That's what you are saying?
Today is the first time I have ever heard him answer any question DIRECTLY about anti Semitism in the Labour ranks.
He said he had put into place something to deal with anti-Semitism and yet he still didn't apologise for all the wrongs etc. that had occurred.
He's the Leader it IS his job to take responsibility.
His comments today, …. but for tactical voting he/Labour would have gained a few seats...HIS WORDS!! Not how many of Labour's Redwall were lost!! Delusional.
He has obviously got it wrong ( yeah I know you think everyone else has and not him) and still wants to hang around to mull over the loss. Let me remind you.. the MAJORITY voted him out. Let's see him try to NOT honour that! Oh this time he can do nothing about it.
Rigged vote HA HA HA .That's beyond delusional... certainly helps your argument, doesn't it? Errr , nope!!
Wonder what it would take for the number of seats to reach 326 to be rigged so Corbyn would lose?
Thousands of people sworn to secrecy, never ever to mention they have been bought off. Those counting the voting slips to 'miscount' or 'lose' the votes or to put a massive number in the Con's column?Media would not see anything? The people interviewed before and after … all paid to say it's because of Corbyn... how did the rigging work? You seem to think it is /was possible... please explain how this massive gap in numbers of seats was managed?

This election was won primarily on the Bannon style alt-right psychological warfare tactics that have infiltrated politics globally over the last seven years. The evidence is that Theresa May didn't adopt them in her campaign, and Corbyn did brilliantly, Boris emulated them, had been for meetings with Steve Bannon and was on board with his galvanising of the far right and fascism globally. Leave Uk used the tactics for the Brexit referendum and the EU elections, and of course they were used effectively to win Trump his presidency. How could he expect people to vote for him when he refused to take a definite stand on the central issue of the election?
To be fair he adopted the democratically selected labour conference stance on brexit against his own conviction. It was the blairites who where pushing remain. The demise of labour is hidden by the blairite strategy of assuming the support of the working class whilst pursuing metropolitan support.
The voice of the working class was therefore shut down. Labour, to survive, needs to abandon all blairites.
ltmund Ok, but ultimately Corbyn acted as Party leader. He could’ve said I don’t care about what our party conference says on Brexit. And honestly he should have. @@kaycamille1544 .
Ha! Exactly!
Not really, the Tories doing well and being essentially unopposed isn't good for you or me. A credible, moderate left alternative would be nice. There's a lot of problems in the UK - high rent, house prices, national infrastructure, low wages, HS2 etc etc that are only going to get worse under a right wing gov.
When they did well in the 2017 election they should have cut a deal with May or just let their MPs from Leave districts vote for May's deal, which was awfully close to the deal Corbyn proposed to negotiate - free trade with the EU without free movement. Instead, they put party above country for the sake of denying May a win, and Corbyn put personal political ambition above either.
Spot on!
I’m glad it has all worked out in the end.
The biggest shock of the election is Corbyn is still the leader. No doubt he will want to try to make sure another communist carry’s on with his fight.
Ironically a win for May in those circumstances on brexit would have undoubtedly would have led to a split within the conservative party, a fight with Lawson and their defeat in the next election. Corbyn's best chance against the conservatives was to get a weak version of Brexit passed, watch the right draw daggers on each other, and face a weak candidate (May) in an election.
Everything he (Corbyn) did in retrospect was tactically wrong. I suspect that they thought Boris Johnson was unelectable nationally and that running against him, they could not lose.
Correct

Who's here near enough 18 months later, where the Labour party have learned nothing at all from their hammering and still using the same pandering tactics to minorities, while the few supporters continue to attempt to bully with memes?
Labour don't really represent the working class anymore. Their MPs are mostly made up of metropolitan elites, millionaires, property owners, also wannabe millionaires and career politicians, who just want fame and fortune, rather than actually working hard to represent their constituents. How many labour MPs completely disregarded their constituent's views on Brexit and decided they knew best and their constituents knew sh*t. That's why they lost so badly. They have completely ignored their support base. Also, Corbyn is such an arrogant man, he couldn't even recognise that he was part of the problem.
That guy was talking like he’d just learnt the word “analyse”

Well, considering the mounting evidence of right wing vote rigging and coercion within the labour party, and who became party leader, its pretty clear that Kier Stammer is what went wrong for Jeremy Corbyn. When you put all the pieces together, its pretty damning.
Blaming it entirely on Corbyn is scapegoating from the Labour party. The fundamental problem was the PLP's contempt for Brexit, and trying to overturn it by any means necessary.

@@jackkruese9929 There is more than one way to run an economy, and the current capitalist system isn't exactly benefiting the majority of people, is it? Let's give something else a try.
It went ''wrong'' from when their (cough) Marxist level thinking of Proletariat v Bourgeoisie, so ''Capitalist'' v ''Working Class'', mutated into it's modern form of ''Oppressor'' v ''Oppressed'', and all the identity politics that comes with their new postmodern brand of Communist thinking.
Most people see through it totally, and more and more people are waking up to it. Essentially they couldn't conjure up enough ''Oppressed'' people for votes, and in the process of doubling down on that insanity they shat on their actual voter base - the working class. However, like all these people, they hate the rich more than they like the poor. And what they really like is power, so the means doesn't matter. The working class WERE useful pawns until they weren't, and they misjudged how most normal people think (which is, a full rejection of identity politics and the trimmings that comes with that).
Which is why now they appeal to students and professional victims - nothing more.
It’s weird getting this so late on, but I suppose I’ve had more time to reflect. Labour didn’t understand that a referendum vote needed honouring whether they agreed with it or not. They also needed to understand that the class system has changed. All that Working, Middle, upper glass labelling has gone. You earn money doing what your good at well. Many people who would have followed dads footsteps into mining are instead software engineers/ project managers/ owners of decent plumbing companies or engineering firms. The Labour Party also cling onto the NHS needs saving every election but voters realise we have to pay for it and it’s a healthy economy and taxation that fund it whoever is in power. Labour is now for Uni students and idealists and it needs to reinvent itself.
You say its weird getting this late on, but do you think anything has changed? i think its still as relevant today as ever.
@@vanmantalks Corbynists are still in the party, Corbynism is not condemned. No chance for Labour in the next election

That's without mentioning labours spending plans that would sink the UK into serious debt and in turn more severe austerity measures!
