Hey Tool boss have you noticed any of your rapid chargers having a high pitched squealing noise when charging m18 batteries also noticed my rapid charger hit 168 degrees during charging a m18 high output XC 8.0
Tool Boss, I know this video is older but wanted to ask a question. I have two milwaukee rapid charger but i don't hear the fan on both of them. Does it have a fan? My DeWalt fast charger you can hear the fan running when charging a battery. I don't hear it on your video. Let me know. If something is wrong i will contact milwaukee. Thanks
does your 9.0 ah charger or the rapid charger kinda buzz when its almost done charging with the 9.0 ah battery? mine does just making sure if that is normal?
actually my rapid charger makes a little buzz sound ...would be great if like ingersol rand where it would beep ...with a on/off switch that would be awesome
I just got rid of my rapid charger and went back to the regular. I got stuck having to buy the rapid charger and after the first charge on my 6.0 battery I new it wasn't right. It discharged way too fast. I looked it up and found that the rapid charger is harder on batteries and they won't last as long. I'm sure Milwaukee won't mind selling you more batteries more often. I also run off a 400 watt inverter a lot and wasn't sure if it would handle the rapid charger. I found a regular charger and was able to return the rapid. Now I'm happy.
I'm opting to buy a rapid charger to replace my regular 48-59-1812. Glad i read this message. The green light on m18 slot on my regular charger turns off when fully charge. I'm not sure why that happens. What I remember it just stays green.
Im looking to purchase a Milwaulkee weed-wacker. The vast majority (if not all) of negative reviews are the battery charger. Several complaints of needing to replace the chargers within a few months of use. And many complaints of the batteries being difficult to seat into the charger, IE Loose fit! Do you have any experience with the alleged short life of the charger?
What are the proper charging practices? Should I use my battery until it dies before recharging (they last for several weeks on one charge for my amount of use), or should I charge it before it totally dies? And If not used for a long time should I make sure I fully charge them before letting them sit for a long time? Thanks
Well you want to wine battery all way down or as close to dead as you can as you only get a certain amount of cycles say you charge at 50% to a full charge that counts as one full cycle if you charge at 5% to a full charge that counts as a full cycle so you pretty much wasted 45% of run time on a battery....that being said today's batteries can get over a thousand cycles so you can pretty much charge the battery everyday for 3 years to a full charge...but that is best way to since your asking
It's better to charge them when they are full dead, they are building up muscle memory and just like a smart phone should be used to the max when u first start using it and drain it all the way. Then charge it all the way for a cupple cycles once it's broken in then charge them to 80% for the rest of its life and you will have it a lot longer. For storage 50%
Most people aren’t just packing around batteries so the overmolding on the bottom will get most of the brunt when dropped while on a tool. The top part really can’t hit the ground while on the tools.
Awesome in depth review bro!! The9.0 lasts forever in the circular saw lol I used it all day ripping plywood to put up on the inside of my shed to board it up and it used 1 out of the 4 bars lol
Awesome!!!

Yes all but 1 has it 👍👍👌
@@toolboss8410 so it's normal nothing to worry about then figured I would ask before I called Milwaukee about it
they should come out with a digital readout and tells you what percent they are.
+Federer2001 they do ..got to get one key or tool connect 👍🏻
this is true.

Ok, thanks for the info
This "waiting to charge" business is kind of stupid. Why wouldn't both batteries charge at the same time?

@@toolboss8410 Good thing you don't call yourself the battery boss....

i think the reason the m18 charges faster is simply because there's more cells in the pack so its less strain on each cell
yea im sure that may play into the equation
Will you get as many charges with a battery on the rapid charger?
Love2boat92 that I'm not sure of ...I think that has more to do with battery than charger
TOOL BOSS That may be true but I've heard if you charge the batteries slower, you tend to get more recharges out of them.
yea maybe true ...i heard so many diffrent storys its hard to kno whats goin on ...
Those the rapid charger do any damages to the newer batteries tho? That's my only concern

I know this video is old but would you be willing to sale one of those m12 chargers if you still have the extra two

Thanks for the reviews
+John Gibson thanks for watching John
another good video
+Mark Kilroy thanks buddy ;)
Is the old M12 only charger a "rapid" charger?
no ...this charger and the 6 piece battery charger are the only rapid chargers
It puts one amp into each cell so it's pretty fast but not the fastest
Mine makes a loud noise and gets pretty hot? Is this normal? I can hear it 3 rooms away with the doors shut
buttpirate57 yes that's the fan inside it ..mine only does it when I put a hot battery in it
