so for those who want to fix this permanently, you have to go into settings and default to original factory settings, Chose NOT to connect to the internet for updates and chose NOT to connect to Ford Pass. Your screen will never freeze again. THANKS FORD

This worked perfectly on my 2021 Ford Explorer! I had just gone over 1,000 miles on it and the display blacked out. Music still played but it was blacked out on screen. Your advice fixed this perfectly. Thank you so much!
Awesome! This worked for me. Everyone else was telling me to find the fuse box and disconnect the fuse. First I couldn't find the fuse box and I think I am pretty handy, finally came upon this video and this is sooooooo easy. Thanks!!
This worked in my 2018 Ford Flex. I held the TUNE + button and power instead of the seek forward button. Thank you! This always happens at the worst time like when we're out of town on a trip!

On my 2016 Fusion, it still didn't work..I thought. Then, the display appeared! Still, I didn't see the Ford logo. It just stayed black. But after just turning it on after several attempts, it reappeared and is now working. Thank you!!!!
My 2013 had this happen today. I just left it alone coming home but if its still black when I start it up in the morning, I will be trying this! I just knew I was looking at some big repairs. I will do a comment on it if it works for me. Thanks! Before I got this little Escape, I had a 2017 Fusion just like the one you used in the video. Loved the car but I needed something smaller and taller so traded backward for the 2013 Escape.
