As a certified ford tech i want to applaud you for installing your new APIM as you can see it isnt really hard but on some models they can be quite a pain in the butt!! if you have any questions give me a shout and i will help if i can

So ford tech i need help. Customer changed battery now radio runs on am for 10 seconds then shuts off dash says “radio off” ac works no screen only a flash when i take the fuse out. Change screen or APIM?? BOTH?
@@lilbazel this procedure should be taken with care .. undo the negative cable set aside insolate the neg terminal of the battery run a short piece of wire with a low amp fuse inline from the positive cable to the negative cable and let it set for 5 min attached to the cable .. this is called a power reset and attaching the wire depletes the excess voltage from the system after the power reset undo the wire and reattach the negative cable to the battery .. hope this helps !!
@@mechanicmike2858 read it online i removed battery and held terminals together about 2 min while pressing buttons to try to speed up the power drain. Upon reset we got the am station but it wont allow us to change from 490khz also shuts off after 10 -20 seconds. Im hoping its the apim i told customer to order replacement from same place as this guy. Just based on your experience sounds like apim? Im no tech but id say no brains means apim and screen flicker upon reset indicates screen is good? I also unplugged both terminals and let sit for 10 min with fuse 29 out before finally hooking the battery back up and giving up after no screen
It is my opinion that it very well could be the APIM however the ACM could be at fault .. I had a similar problem with a vexh this week and we replaced the APIM to repair it

Had a bubble in my 2018 charger screen. Bought a 15 dollar digitizer and some goo gone to fix a bubble. Dealer said they were going to replace the radio for a thousand. Fixed it myself and saved 985 bucks.

It would let me comment on the power wheels video, so I came here. If you take that heat gun to the surface of that McQueen power wheel ot will make the red bright and new. I bet the boy would love that. Great video! we put a lipo battery in one just for a few minutes one time for my nephew. It was ridiculous fast 😆.

Kent, is it important to have it programmed to the VIN#?
My wife has a 2012 Ford Edge. It started out a couple months ago with the fan speed randomly going all the way up (full blast) and would just beep constantly like someone was turning the fan speed up. It was very random, sometimes it would be daily and do it every 5 to 10 minutes, and other times it wouldn't do it for weeks.
But now the screen to completely black, no radio at all. I pulled the radio fuse, radio came back on but once you turn car off the radio will not come back on. The fan speed going up constantly is still happening now too. Possibly even worse now.
My hope is that the APIM will take care of both issues - fan speed and black screen, not sure they are related though.
It looks like you can get used units off eBay for much cheaper that come with the AMIP, but I'm not sure how important getting it programed to the vehicles VIN is. I also understand cheap isn't always better. I am just trying to understand it better so i only have to do it once and not replacing parts that may still be good.
I do appreciate your videos, about a year ago i watched the HOT AC blowing one to fix the same issue in my wife's edge.

I have left row of buttons(ac, - level of temperature E t c) not working. Sometimes ac starts working but usually not. Is it cable problem?
Was your b/u camera working before. The fuse resets are getting old and my camera went out about 4 months ago.
Hello bro. I have a 2012 Lincoln mks. The screen went black. The ac controls doesn’t work. The signals doesn’t work from inside the car but outside it comes on. What are you thoughts ? Nice video btw
You think I have the same problem as you? I checked the the master reset but when it’s hot outside the screen will stay black when I turn the car on an when it finally gets cool from the ac it turns back on I don’t have enough money to take it in also the camera will work when I put in reverse just not when I put it back in drive pretty weird

So I punched my screen and it went black. Do you think I just need to replace the screen or the entire unit? I can still hear sounds when I touched the screen, it just went black.

I wonder if they have a fix for my Focus body control module. The radio and display goes dead when the engine is off, and the USB just says "USB DISCONNECTED" no matter if it's plugged or unplugged.

That was interesting. My screen works but doesn’t respond to touch. I think we will have to replace the screen. At least I learned how to remove it.

Find abanded supra and fix it
