How To SOFT Reset your SYNC 3 System | Better Than MASTER Resetting Your SYNC 3 System

- Sync 3 system for Ford vehicles is a great infotainment system. However, issues arise and soft resetting your Sync 3 system can take care of these problems.
Most videos suggest performing a Master reset on your Sync 3 system which erases everything from your Sync 3 system. Performing a Soft Reset on your Sync 3 can help eliminate that.
I highly suggest trying the soft reset on your SYNC 3 system if you are experiencing problems before you Master Reset the Sync 3 system.

SYNC gives me attitude sometimes when i plug in my iPhone. The Soft reset definitely helps.

WOOHOO!!! Got a 2020 Ford Explorer XLT that for some reason during my connecting/disconnecting and Android Auto initializing, made my SYNC 3.4 screen slam lock up!!! 😳 Did a soft reset by simultaneously holding down the "volume/power" button and the skip track button "⏭️" ...seemed like it took about 10 seconds to go into reboot, but it worked!!! Thanks a Bunch!!! 😁👍🏻

My Sync was acting up, none of the software buttons would do anything and it would just sit there loading on the right side over and over. Did this and it reset and went back to functional. Thanks a lot! 2020 Fusion Hybrid btw.

My Bronco Sport went crazy one day. All sorts of error messages were popping up and a red exclamation mark in a circle would appear on the center display. Also the LED in the PRND selector knob was blinking. The car would not start and the doors would not remain locked. Luckily this reset got it going again.

Can you help me with a problem. My iPhone is linked multiple times with my for edge 2019 I have tried the factory reset and it hasn’t cleared the 6 times it has linked too sync. I can’t get my text messages from my edge which has always worked prior too having it linking the same phone 6 times. Appreciate your videos which is where I got the master reset from.

If you hold the "next track" button on your steering wheel and "next track" button on your dash (simultaneously) for 3-5 seconds, you can access the "Ford Test Settings" menu & you can change your Sync display theme to a ton of different vehicle types, like: Ford GT (a sleek racing theme), Raptor, Shelby, RS, ST, Mustang, Lincoln Black (for a gold luxury theme), and a few more.

Hi There great video do you think this will stop music intermittently jumping ipod wired in (genuine apple cable) or usb stick it only happens for a second and is really inconsistent

Ive done master resets too and is there anything else I can do because I don’t want to send it into a garage just in case it gets damaged as my car is only a month old. I’ve had a look on forums and they say that it’s a common thing with sync 3.4 and there’s nothing you can do.
I’ve tried a USB instead of my iPod and that hasn’t made any difference either
Also, I wonder if you have a solution for this?
My playlist on my iPod are more than 500 songs each. When I click on a playlist it says 500 songs and doesn’t show the rest. For example hip-hop has over 2000
But if I press play, all, it shows every song which 9000+

When I start my car in the morning the screen don’t come on, then I’ll drive for like 45 minutes. Turned off the car and back on then it comes back on. Some days it won’t even come on until I restart the car 4 times.
I have always wondered how to get AA restarted while driving. I always stopped and completely turned the car off, lol.

Help! I have my iPhone linked 6 times with my Ford Edge 2019, don’t ask me how because I don’t have a clue 😳. I know how too soft reset and I tried factory reset which hasn’t worked either. I can’t get my text messages which I’m thinking that’s maybe because it is linked 6 times. Appreciate your videos.
You should be able to remove the phone from "phone" tab. I would start by deleting all the phones then pair it as if it was a new phone.

What error are you getting? I would try redownloading the app and trying again
@@Red5oh FordPass customer service is saying I need to update to the newest sync to get it to work and when I tried the usb method it says installation failed because of the hardware not matching the sync system or something like that. I’m tired of dealing with it and decided to give up trying. Sync works when I’m driving I just can’t use FordPass so oh well. Guess I’ll deal without

I have a 2018 f150 and I’ve did the soft reset took battery cable off and just did master reset and I still have issues with screen freezing. Any other suggestions?
Those are usually the common things I’d suggest battery and master reset. Maybe leave battery off overnight to let the systems reset? Is it still under warranty?

Disconnect the battery for few minutes and see if that fixes it

Eh didn't help. Literally can't get it to remove a Bluetooth device on my 2019 Fusion. I've tried master reset as well.
I would unplug the battery for 10-15 mins to reset the system if master and soft reset aren’t doing anything
