    Starting as a 70's Kawasaki triple rider, later inline 4s, I'm thinking of a cb500f, kick ass fuel economy and yet still enough to destroy all but electric car performance. At the moment i own a wonderful but to much for me at my age gsx s 750. At one time i did own a n reg 74 cb 500f.
    I Think fuel economy is important with enough performance and I've come to the conclusion that fuel + performance is the way to go. My wife owns a honda benly 110, it uses bugger all fuel and she brings most of the shopping home.

      Hi
      Cb500f. Is a nice basic bike doesn't come with many mods. Don't think it even as traction control but I kind of like that. My midnight Star doesn't have anything it's basically engine two wheels and the seat lol The tank is a really good size on the cb500f at 17.1 litres. Should gave a nice long range. Safe riding

      Hi, Mark I just bought a CBR 650 R 2023 after CB 500 X and CBR 500 R.
      I am 71 years i am happy with this bike. If I had enough money, I would also have a CB 500 X, but. I can't pay two insurances, and I especially like the look of sports Bikesand this cbr is a pleasure to watch and to drive too!.

    Been looking at one of these or the 500 version but insurance quotes are ridiculous now. Bike would be well secured, mature rider for a few years, never made a claim in car or bike, and quote was £3500 just for the cbr500r!!!! Where are they getting these numbers from?

      What the hell. That's s lot. You tried Bennetts insurance. I've got a midnight Star 1300 I've just ensured £230 pound.

      @@Bikerlee555 I had the new hornet for a year znd renewal price was only £250, but got rid of it and got a new vstrom 650 for better wind protection. Fancied the cbr just for a bit more oomph but the biggest oomph was the insurance quote.

    Ive got 1 of these it's a fantastic bike. Ive put a Tail tidy and rear seat cowl on mine and it really finishes the back end off.

      So not just me with that thing on the back. Just felt to me they didn't know what to do and stuck at that thing on the back. I was very surprised at the bike as the last time I had a sports bike was an R6 about 4 years ago and it was nowhere near as comfortable as this bike. If you got a photo of what you've done to your bike please send it would like to have a look. All the best safe riding.

      I bought mine back in December. Been thinking of getting a tail tidy. How does it fair in the rain? Does much crap get throw up onto your back or into the rear of the bike under the seat? I've heard bad things while riding in the rain with a tail tidy, so for now I have kept mine stock.

    Hello, I just bought the same, and I'm going to get it back this week, but I'm very. worried about the tires which are Dunlop D214...lots of bad reviews, are they really dangerous even on a dry road ?.

    • @Bikerlee555
      @Bikerlee555  Год назад

      Hi
      Yes I've heard lots of people seem to not to like them. My ride as you can see was a quick first impression of the bike. My total ride time was about 40mins. I personally didn't have any problems with grip. But was not riding the bike balls to the wall fast. But they are stock tyres was means they are probably not the best for fast riding. Remember if the tyres are new to run them in first. Bridgestone s21, Michelin road 5 or 6. Seemed to be a better tyre that people prefer with this kind of bike.

      @@Rrc36381 Personally not going to run to changing the stocks off until they run out of tread. idk if the 21 plate have different ones. All i know is the sportmax's feel decent in the dry. I don't use it for the wet so I won't find that out. But.. They don't seem to warrant needing a change until they've served their lifetime. They haven't caused me any lack of grip in the 2k miles ive done so far.

    I want to ask, at the traffic the temperature goes high very fast like cbr 600 rr?

    • @The.JZA.
      @The.JZA. 6 месяцев назад

      I have a CB650R, the naked version. It's fine in traffic. You can feel the heat on your calves but the engine temp on the display stays in the normal range. I haven't tried it in hot conditions though.

    this was one of the most underwhelming bikes I've test rode this year but I think it makes a great bike for beginner riders it will keep them entertained for at least 1.5years unlike the 300/400ccs.

    • @Bikerlee555
      @Bikerlee555  Год назад

      I found that . But the more I rode the more I realised you got to rev the balls off it to get any sort of performance sort of it. Then it started to become fun. But like you said I would recommend it for beginner riders.

      @bella_testastretta Год назад +1

      @@Bikerlee555 yeah very true! that's where I felt like it was underwhelming because the power is barely noticeable at the very top end and the engine vibration feels super weird/not refined for a 4cyl. honda's just aren't the same as they were 10 years ago.
