Guys you got to see this bike in real life! I was never impressed by this bike until a week ago I saw one in real life ( My neighbour bought one) It looks very agressive in person and could easily be mistaken for a super sport!
The Aprillia is a great bike (in black, can’t say the other colours gold or red with a purple tank appeal Yuck). But a lot more money for the riding modes and TFT screen over the CBR650R that couldn’t justify, then Hondas reliability is streets ahead of the Italian!

Having this one for a week and not being allowed to rev over 7k, I can already say it's absolutely crazy and its one of the best looking bikes on the road

I think this is the best value Honda sport bike for any rides other than the CB650R, it can do track too although not as sharp as its supersport 600RR, but the 600 will compromise lower back comfort for daily rides, it's not comfortable except for track day rides. The smaller cc twin cylinders is a bit too lazy for highway but better in the city, so, for a multipurpose one, the 650cc CB & CBR are the best
There are a few things that perspective buyers could be interested in finding out. First, riding position for at least a couple of riders of different height, second, pillion comfort. Yes, there are videos explaining that motorcycling is mostly a boys’ hobby, but some of us would like to know what happens to whoever has to sit on the passenger seat.
I'm still trying to figure out how to adjust my leg height like Inspector Gadget. Until then I'm the height I am. 😀 With most bikes I borrow, I am not allowed to carry a pillion. There's been a few exceptions, but it's rare.
@@Englishbikerdan you need a taller sidekick. And while riding with a pillion would probably be more accurate, even a static test is better than nothing. I mean, nobody else is doing it. @@Englishbikerdan Well, that would take the same mental adjustment I need when I see a 5.9 guy jumping (I’m being generous here) on a bike. Have you noticed much (or any) pressure on your wrists or back while riding? I usually like the street fighter style but, man, that CBR looks pretty sweet! lol
EBD, no question in my mind. You're top 3 bike reviewers on YT. Keep up the awesome quality work & have a great day. Be safe Ride safe 👍
Thank you for including your measurements. I always have trouble seeing what my lean angle would be on a bike that's not physically in front of me.
A unique point to be noted... The lights at night 👍👍👍
I took the bike for a 1200 km, 14 hour motorway ride from germany to spain... no issues at all just couldn't really move my hands anymore but i guess that is to expect with an enduro as well🤷♂️
Had the 2016 CRF650F. Learned a lot on that bike - then they came out with CBR650R. Would've loved to have the 650R.
My brother is thinking of getting a ZX-4RR or ZX-6R for his second bike, upgrading from his Z500. I'm thinking this might be a more practical middle ground for him.
Pretty comprehensive review, the night riding was a bonus. the quality of overall video has enhanced a lot 🤟maybe its voice or editing
Honda fan here also , i have the CB650F forever bike
Would you recommend it for a beginner?
Great review. I’ve just bought the 2023 model and I really like it a lot. Windsor looks lovely.
Sunday just got better :)
although I don't ride every day, in 2 months I've done 3000 kilometres in all weathers and roads, and this motorcycle has impressed me. Sometimes the tyres are not grippy enough in wet but the traction control hasn't intervened. I'm pretty happy with this bike. My bum itches to go for a ride all the time.
You've got a really good review style Dan. Top quality.
Thank you kindly! :)
My girlfriend is a die hard Honda lover. She currently rides a CTX700N and is looking at this as her next bike. Great video. Thanks.
I've been commuting to London on a 600RR since October. Works for me.
You have buns of steel!
@@Englishbikerdan Does steel ache all the time? Then maybe you're right...
But seriously, I find I spend most of the time with my weight on the pegs or my ass would most certainly be black & blue.
@@cliveadams7629 I used to commute into London on my ZX7R which wasn't too bad. But then I went and got the first new gen 600cc ZX6R in 2006 which was similar to being kicked in the man plums for about an hour by an angry bear. I then switched to naked bikes and my plums have been happier since.
@@Englishbikerdan I tried naked bikes once. It was too scary. I had a Zephyr 1100 because, well it would slow me down a bit. All that happened was it got a lot harder to get around corners. I stay with sports bikes now but I am tempted to get a CRF450L should funds allow.
@@cliveadams7629 Nice mate. My very first big bike was a Zephyr 550. I thought it was the fastest bike on Earth! 😂
This is mad, this is my first time watching a review on this specific bike and riding around my old home town 👌🏼 take it down the dual by the swimming centre… 0-60 from the lights ! Love to see it !
Lovely review Dan, as per usual 😁 just bought this bike four days ago. Can’t wait to ride it!
At least your bike will keep one of your hands warm in the winter I have a Kawasaki 636 looking at your 650 cbr as I am getting older
Hi Dan, best regards from Barcelona, Spain. I own the CB650R since last june, and it is the first bike that is always kind of whispering me "let's do some twisties, come on...". It's like a dog, you have to take it out or will be sad ;). We are lucky here in Barcelona because there are a lot of sunny days, even in winter time at midday you can (carefully) enjoy the mountain twisties. Watching your videos is like listening to a friend, always a great time!
Thanks Paul, yes my bike sometimes shouts at me though. Especially with all the other bikes I ride. I think she gets jealous! :D
It's a good machine.
Surprisingly small and light feeling.
Nice controls.
Punchy enough engine.
Guys you got to see this bike in real life! I was never impressed by this bike until a week ago I saw one in real life ( My neighbour bought one) It looks very agressive in person and could easily be mistaken for a super sport!
It is a supersport lol
@@noahlul698 650cc bikes are not supersports, this is a road sport bike. They don't race 650's in World Supersport.
comes under sports bike / sports tourer category.
@@noahlul698 no this is not a supersport, Hondas super sports are the cbr600rr and the 1000rr fireblade. Also I believe they had a cbr250rr
it looks soo bad ass. i reckon it looks cooler/sexier than the equivalent offerings from suzuki, kawasaki etc.
i would say this and the aprilla 660 are the top contenders for sporty bikes with usable power.
The Aprillia is a great bike (in black, can’t say the other colours gold or red with a purple tank appeal Yuck).
But a lot more money for the riding modes and TFT screen over the CBR650R that couldn’t justify, then Hondas reliability is streets ahead of the Italian!
I recently bought a 82 honda 650 4 from Craigslist. Mint condition, beautiful fast bike. At a gas station i was offered twice what I'd paid, and it was gone. Honestly, it was way to fast for my local environment. Froghead city sw Fl.
MOST CERTAIN IT IS!!! i own one for about one year and afew month, dayli use it and no "RAGRETS" xD
I am digging the ruroc helmet brother! I have the Shogun and a cbr650r. I enjoy your videos too! Keep up the good work mate!
I have always liked the Honda CBR 650 R. I very nearly brought a 21 model. But I decided to go for a Kawasaki 650 ninja, as it was so much cheaper in the purchase price.
I love my bike to bits it ticks so many boxes like the CBR.
Owned mine for a year now, really no regrets. Agree with you on the lights when cornering, Honda could’ve done that better. But on straights, it illuminates very well.
Top speed run is on my channel.
Great review Dan. I always like your relaxed and honest style. One of the easiest reviewers to watch and listen too.
i bought the 2021 and took delivery few months ago. so far i've put around 1,5k km on it and it's a great all purpose sport bike. An Arrow Pro Race makes it a different animal though, now with a complete exhaust it sounds perfect but i must admit that the stock pipe wasn't bad at all. I'm waiting on GB Racing to put out an engine cover set so i can protect those nice bronze-ish carters.
Not a big sportsbike fan, but this looks beautiful.
Very thorough review with the information that I needed. Thank you.
It's very hard to get this bike over here. There's long waiting time, even used unit is not available but if there are someone willing to sell, the price is not much different than buying new.
8:13 great use of the 360 degree camera
Yeah lived that...That shot of the castle etcetera #WellDone👍🏾
The only issue I found with riding mine at night is the high beam tell-tale light is so bright even with the screen on low

County of Ireland, it certainly makes a person a better rider.
It’s definitely worth considering. I’m a new rider, first big bike so not a huge amount to compare with (Sv540 and Triumph Tiger Sport 660) but the CBR650R was an instant joy to ride and way more engaging than the others, easy to ride but very capable and just finished 2,700 miles from the UK to Austrian Alps and back and loved it from top speed on unrestricted Autobahns right down to Alpine hairpins.
It’s a quality ride for the money!
I’m happy just riding mine 👍 Great first big bike!
This and the new aprilia RS660 are my fav bikes. Really can’t choose between them
@Sarthak Suman bro....i am european....and of course here there are many more european bike dealers.
That is not the problem.
Also aprilia is a very good brand, i don’t see why i shouldn’t consider it
Thanks for making and putting all the effort. 👏🤛🔥
I can’t decide if you’re riding to work, riding to get essential food or because it’s the first warm, sunny, dry wknd during lockdown...
Jus kiddin. Lovely bike. Definitely one on my test ride list! Great vid Dan.
This is work for me, so I'm good to film according to the law. This was actually filmed almost a year ago. Although I can't remember if it was a lockdown at that point!
Do you prefer this over the CB650R? I've been wondering which to get for everyday commute. A lot of traffic in my area.
I wanted this bike so badly but couldnt afford something new so I went a different route but who knows I may own one someday even still.
I got 2021 in April and loving it herebin Australia
Watching from Philippines! nice review thanks!
Not really a bike person..have a few frens that r really into bikes but dman this bike is just so sexy..would just buy it for its looks
Uggghhh I'm usually not a fan of how sport bikes look, but honda, you might not be what you used to, but god damn are these 650's the prettiest bikes out there.
It's a gorgeous bike eh?!
Great bike loving it however I’ve got a lot to work on for my slow speed turns after riding a 125 for 2 years
Off note topic, but your video production is insane man.

Another great review from Dan the english biker! Reminds me of the day I brought my 1st bike home from Romford, riding along M4... nice everyday bike it was.. GPZ500s..
Would enjoy seeing a review on the 2023 Ninja 650, and a bit of comparison with the CBR650R.
Sadly I'm still unable to test Kawasaki bikes.
Very nice! I’m a new rider and felt a 650+ would be too much as my first bike, so I bought a CFMOTO 450SRS, which is a perfect beginner bike. Light, nimble, sounds great and extremely easy to ride! Maybe I’ll upgrade to a 650 after a year or two when I’m more experienced. The CBR looks like a great upgrade path! Thanks for the review! 👍🏼
I've heard good things about the 450 from CFM. Enjoy your new bike!
Amazing Dan, I love that bike so much. Hoping to pick up a 2021 model with the little upgrades. At night that bike is so much better than I thought it would be. Great review Dan 👍🏻
What upgrades does the 2021 have? I understand they've made the quickshifter an optional extra now?
@@DaddyBiker_Reviews mainly changes so the engine is euro compliant but no loss in power, the body work looks a bit different and the dash is more laminated and easier to read in direct sunlight 👍🏻
Absolutely love mine, standard tyres are awful though, took the standard Dunlop’s off and replaced with Dunlop roadsport 2s which vastly improved the grip levels
Don't know what come on other countries, here un Spain de get the Metzeler Roadtec on the 2020 version. Changed to Bridgestone bt016 and much more grip and information while riding
Glad to hear you still have the mighty CB650R as your bike.
Hi Dan, choosing between the CBR650R and the twin Kawasaki Z650 (or 650 Ninja), what would be your thoughts? Is it worthwhile going that extra mile, paying more for the 4-cylinder Honda? Bear in mind I am 6 feet 3 tall.
Personally I think the Honda is better, but that depends on the price as in the US the Honda is very expensive.
Thanks a lot! I am fan!
I love this motorcycle.
Hi Dan, great vid and interesting look forward to the next one
Thanks 👍
Having this one for a week and not being allowed to rev over 7k, I can already say it's absolutely crazy and its one of the best looking bikes on the road
Why can't you rev it past 7k??
@@Englishbikerdan Got it brand new. Have to wait til 1000km🙁
great vid! loved your commentary... the ride by the castle reminded me of my trip to the UK back in 2018.
Thanks for watching! I do love Windsor.
Great bike but 2 simple additions would make it a must buy; 1) an improved screen/interface, tft maybe, and 2) ride by wire throttle allowing for up AND down quickshifter/blipper. Add them and, Honda, I've got £8k here to give you. Great video as always Dan, really like your unpretentious style.
Thanks mate. I do think that 2022 will see some more changes. The Trident and RS660 are making other manufacturers rethink things which is good for us as consumers! Thanks for watching!
Problem with that is the bike costs £8400+ so adding TFT, ride by wire and a blipper and up and down Quickshifter will put it in RS660 money over £10,000
Looks like you're in luck with the 2024 then :)
# Very useful, sensible and helpful review. , I'm a beginner motorcyclist, at age 48 end am small 166cm,, so which bike of this equation is right for me? I drive daily to work in the city and also the highway( Commuting) and sometimes during a weekend round of recreational so, which one? don't like Adventure such an engine, love Naked bike & sport tour bike so what is your opinion? this bike or Kawa Ninja 650 or Aprilia RS660
I love this review. I live in the states and the riding conditions are a bit different so I have to factor that in. A great option I'm keeping an eye out for
Thanks for watching! Our roads are a little bit narrower! :D
Yeah man, the 600RR is a totally different animal! Cheers.
@@Englishbikerdan 🥂!
Would love to see a video review of the Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe!
Freddie Dobbs comes close with Monika’s comments, but he doesn’t really provide visuals except of himself climbing precariously onto the passenger seat…
@@superleggenda My partner is 5 foot. So I'm pissing in the wind there! :D
@@Englishbikerdan Well, that would take the same mental adjustment I need when I see a 5.9 guy jumping (I’m being generous here) on a bike. I don’t know, it looks like all motorcycle channels cater for lone riders, when a lot of people enjoy the company of a pillion. Especially those who do NOT own intercoms.
@@no_name4080 tall bikes suck for motorway travel. And most women cannot climb on those comfortably because the passenger seat is too high. Not sure why people delude themselves adventure bikes are good tourers, because they are not. And this is from someone who got their license more than 30 years ago.

Why’d you sell it?
What did you replace it with?
@@shogoracing4294 because I test rode a 2019 Africa Twin and loved the thump of the twin and it’s road presence. Although that’s sold as well now 😅 Edit: to add exactly why, my mates said I looked like an ape on it as I’m 6’4 and it was a soft sports bike compared to those my mates ride.
@@RUBBERNMETAL I replaced it with a 2019 Africa Twin, which I only kept six months before getting an MT10 😅😅

Hi man, how tall are you ? Do you think that cbr650r is good for taller rider (190cm) ?

The lights on the cbr500r at night without street lights is so bad on corners its insane. Interesting to see the 650 is so similar :/ i threw on some AUX lights and it helped a little. Love the aggressive look but sometimes functionality > form
Sorry to ask a question on an old vid. I used to have a 2016 cbr500r (not sure if you have tried that bike). In all honesty it did technically have more than enough power to handle the UK roads, but it got boring and lack luster quite quickly. My concern is that the cbr650r won't be much different. In your experience is the cbr650r powerful enough to stay engaging or would you suggest something bigger?
From my own perspective the CB650R was fun over the 2 years I had it. I never really got bored of it, I just wanted something more comfortable. It feels a lot more powerful than the 500 so I think you might be ok. Best thing would be to test one of course.
