This guy is awesome, he's got more knowledge about a T Maxx than anyone. I bought one of his moter mounts and it's worth every penny. The best thing I did was convert my T Maxx 3.3 to Electric. 👍🤟🤟
I just completed my Tmaxx to Emaxx conversion. Yes, you need a motor mount, motor, pinion, and speed control. Also need the forward only and single speed kits, in my case the ones for the 2.5 version. I have chargers and batteries. But one item I found not mentioned is battery trays. I kept the steering servo and receiver in the original locations. I used the 775 mount and 775 motor and made battery trays from aluminum. Secured them on either side of the aluminum plate with counter sunk screws and used velcro for holding the batteries in the trays. I mounted the EVX2 on the elevated servo mounts and rotated the receiver box 180 degrees to get the antenna away from the wires as much as possible. I also had to lengthen the motor wires. I haven't ran this unit in over 14 years but seems like it runs very much like the nitro version. It is much cleaner and as much fun as I remember. Thank you for the motor mount.
Did this with my t maxx 3.3 with the extended chassis works brilliant bought my ESC and motor from hobby king, also changed to the forward only gear taking out the first and reverse gears and i locked the second gear so the esc can drive forward and reverse
I have the same T maxx with all aluminum like this but it is Nitro. I scored it for $75 and want to convert like this. Thank you for this video. I am on a budget and every little bit helps. I have most everything but i need a motor and an Esc
Howzrc,,, you are spot on for the layman newby,, no bull dust,, i have a decent nitro that siezed but is in vgc,, i want to put a brushless lipo convert,, i have a 1/10 volcano,, but want the big beast tweeked,, thanks for your input.
i bught one of ur motor mount an whare the motor mounts up the bolt holes are slighty off all good thoe i grided it down other thain that it all fit perfit thank you for makin the mount.
Hi I have the same speed control that you show and the same motor. What size pinion gear should i be using. I now have a 15 tooth but think it should be bigger what do you think. Thank you for your video and any help you give. Chuck
Have the mamba max pro sct 2400 kv 4 pole 1415 set up. Is that enough power? And will I need to run dual lipos?? Also I'd like to order a couple of parts from u like the transmission one way conversion so I convert to electric and a motor mount. Awesome video Very helpful!
The SS mount is for a 1/8 scale motor they have a Low Kv, 2000kv, you need a lower spur gear to go fast. Get a 62t spur gear or a 60 or a 63 what ever you can find. it is in one ofmy videos
Hello! I appreciate your videos and website, I've found both to be a wealth of info, thank you. Price notwithstanding, which do you prefer- your brushless conversion or your newer 775 brushed conversion? It looked as if the 775 setup almost had more torque and equal speed, is that just my perception? Lastly, I have been trying to find a good esc that will work for your brushed conversion. Do you have a specific recommendation by any chance? I know it needs to be high amperage, take up to 4S (and of course 16v), any other criteria? Thanks! Ordering the motor mount soon.
Is that the trackstar 4x4 act 5t or 5.5t motor? I've seen the running video of this truck and want the same exact setup. I cant find the 100a trackstar but I have found the 120a x car esc and plan to run 2s lipo.
Hi; Either motor will be fine just adjust the gearing a little, the 90A to 120A esc will be fine. I don't recall what that was running on but I would guess it was a 3S Lipo, Have Fun.
@@How2RC okay thank you so much, one last question, I have 2 tmaxx classics (short cassis) one is a .15 with the black transmission and the other is a 3.3 grey transmission. I plant on using the 3.3 chassis due to it being a bit stronger. So which transmission would you recommend I use?
Luiz Fernando Castilho I was thinking the same thing. Id like to keep the auto shifting 2-speed as well after the conversion but I just think the sheer amp burst of the brushless motor is going to level each and every tooth in the case. I think im going to look for a drop in alloy set thats identical to the plastic 2-speed and pray it works. I dont think I want to cheapskate out on this part of the conversion and get some cheap chinese pot-metal, I'd rather find a good brand that makes it (if they they even make a set at all) like Integy, I know Integy makes high quality alloy diffs and such . Everything must go metal from that point on including cv shafts, center shafts and diffs. The good thing about doing this conversion is, it almost forces you to bulletproof the whole driveline. This of course is all thought as Im noticing my Revo 3.3 is getting a little tired and am contemplating just getting a new nitro engine. If I do decide to do a electro conversion I'll be sure to do a build series containing each necessary part used in order to retain the auto shifting 2-speed.
How2RC Thanks for your clarification. I really like how in this link you are very real and to the point. A lot of the people on here that ask you questions is just crazy and shouldnt even be in the hobby asking some of the questions they ask.

You should be able to program that brushed controller for less initial brake force. Although I know that ebay special well it is TRASH. Are you planning to send that thing to the moon with those motors ??? 😂😂 that is A LOT of power for a tmaxx haha.

I've always wondered what Santa's shop looked like lol . Just kidding man 😄 thanks for the info bud.
Have. You got a video of your 775 brushed can Traxxas /emaxx mount & it running
Just so you know, you can run brushed motors on brushless esc's.
Hey I just ordered a tmax mount
Nice work. Iam new in RC bout I want to kip learning so kip on with your videos.👍🏻
How do you get the brakes to work
I have more than 15 videos about the T-Maxx and Revo conversions on RUclips, Enjoy...
Can u use a 60 esc with a 3665 2100kv motor?

You don't reverse the transmission. The Electronic Speed Control reverses the Brushless motor, --Reverse!
I am glad you like the videos Thank You.
I have done this and have a two speed transmission What do I need to gain reverse?
You left out the part about the stock 72t spur gear not fitting under the motor mount
Can you give me the exact kit number and parts I wanna do my revo and Tmax both are 3.3
Last speed control you're talking about the very last one is for a crawler
how do i order?? it won't let me access the site. says there isn't one.
Where do you find the bracket to hold the conversion kit? I have a Traxxas t-max 2.5 that I'm trying to change to electric
I’m converting my tmaxx to electric and how much is the motor mount?
can i use my stock t maxx transmitter
What gears do you recommend and what pitch?
Great info. Where are all of your elves?
I got the single speed conversion kit and a couple of my gears don't match up is that where the foward shaft comes it because I haven't got it yet
Thank you for taking the time to make this conversion idiot proof.

Cheers but it will not on bench test it'll spin forwards but my car is a e revo same as yours. But no reverse. One way only ;( please help
I'm doing tmaxx to emaxx I bought a new emaxx transmission do I need a plate to mount the transmission.
How to mod the transfer case ? also... would you happen to have a motor and speed control to sell me on a tight budget ?
how do you get the factory tmaxx hooked up for power with this converersion or does this have to be changed from factory to aftermarket as well?
I need one of your motor mounts for the t maxx for brushless motor

What do you recommend for a radio and receiver?
is it possible to use an emaxx transmission? also is this the stock tmaxx chassis?
how do you make the transmission have reverse
Wouldnt a single 550 motor be not good for a heavy truck like a Tmaxx
A single 550 size Brushless motor is plenty powerfull enough with 3S LiPo batteries, A 550 brushed motor won't do the job.
But ima get a 150 esc though
how mant teeth pinoin and spurgear thank you ..very cool by the way..
