2:38 what he meant to say was, you will need a servo "to shift it" *into reverse* without replacing parts in the trans. You can only spin these nitro transmissions one way from the factory so, no reverse. Confusing if you are doing the swap. Too bad this guy is no longer around so i figured I'd clarify. Its also worth mentioning that none of the Traxxas transmission parts he mentioned or put on screen do anything to modify the transmissions "one way" internals. If you can't spin the transmission both directions with locked internals, your swap simply wont work. There are options (especially for the Revo spec one) but that needs to be considered for a swap.

Any chance this same setup will work with a Revo 2.5? And woulc a 3s or 4s work as well?

The motor mount you are showing is nice. It seems like you could mount quite a large pinion gear on the motor and have plenty of room. Nice setup and explanation on how to. 👍👍

Thanks man! Just ordered the new upgraded motor mount for a 1/8 motor. It came within 5 days. It bolted up just as stated. Now, I’m as happy as can be. Thanks for all the helpful videos

Just installed mine with a Monster X ESC and a 2200kv motor. Now I just need to work out the battery situation. I’m planning to 3D print battery trays that bolt to the frame and then 3D print a receiver case that mounts where the throttle servo went.

I brought one of the big motor mount for my tmaxx and it does clear the spur gear how is that when I see your videos and everyone else who supports you and I don't see how to get it right do I need a smaller spur gear

This guy gives very bad advice. Hey kids don't just trust what people say just because there old as dirt.

He made the Steele mounts because the tall aluminum mount flexes and chews up your spur gear.
