I absolutely love these. I would have loved to have been able to have sat and listened to these when they were first broadcasted. Agnes Moorehead is a genius👍🥰🌈💙
Thanks Charlie... Im enjoying this whilst on my lunch break...💃I imagine fatty🐈is sleeping on the back of the sofa at home, in the sunshine🙂🙏 26/04/22 UK
Regarding the sponsor, Roma Wines … I listened to another episode of “Suspense” and heard their advertising, and it intrigued me, so I looked it up. Though I can’t remember the exact details,I believe they were purchased by another company at some point. Around the 1970s the vineyards were sold, and as was the fate of so much agricultural land in Southern California, it was “developed.” There are likely houses, parking lots and strip malls where the Roma vineyards once were.
A lot of listeners have had the same thought (is Roma still around?) Basically, you are correct - they are long gone, and probably a parking lot. Thanks for your posting your comments - Charlie
Misophonia (Selective Sound Sensitivity Syndrome) is the evil flipside of ASMR. If you have it, you'll understand how certain sounds can provoke a violent reaction in a person.
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered Sadly, yes. Certain sounds trigger a fight-or-flight response. The SFX in this version of "The 13th Sound" are more harrowing than in the re-do with Anne Baxter. Though, in the re-do, the victim actually gets to speak. He screams one word. He might have had more lines, but the first couple of minutes are missing from the recording, so we'll never know...unless a complete transcription disc is found. Elliott and Cathy Lewis wrote the script together. I wonder what inspired it. There really is a quarter-tonal modern composition, called "The 13th Sound". Did the Lewises hear it, have a strong reaction, and think it could drive someone to murder? @@OofusTwillip They probably were inspired from the story. Elliott was very well read, and paid attention to other plays and stories. As you know, I rarely post duplicates of stories, and I try to present the best version (another unique channel feature I'm proud of) After 1955, I've found that nearly half the Suspense stories are do-overs.
I'm glad SOMEONE (you) look closely at my cover-art! I told you before, sometimes I just can't help myself! I'm not fond of fingernails on the chalkboard either. I love Agnes's screams.
I love Agnes Moorehead and I'm so glad I can listen to these stories from Dayton, Ohio. Hope everyone has a great weekend 😊

That's a shame because Roma wine was so easy to serve.
@@MelanieMaguire . . . and only pennies per serving!
This is like a retelling of Tell Tale Heart.

It sounds like you may be familiar. Hope not.

I assure you it's real..A form of PTSD.
Misophonia kicking my a** on this one. I couldn't make it through the last part. Whew. This condition is a pain.
I don't suppose the picture I used helps (I don't like that sound either)
👏👏
I don't get it. She shot him because he snored for years? The sounds came back to haunt her, I guess.
SSScccccrreeeeeeeeeeech!
I am the 100th like!!
It's me, it's me; it's Ernest T. 😜 And how, indeed , did Goober escape the special ed. class?! One more shrill noise and I'd have confessed!!
