Who's listening in 2020 during the COVID19 crisis? With live performances halted, who agrees that radio plays should make a comeback? 😀 Love Agnes Moorehead...she was much more than " Endora" in her day!
She was known as "The First Lady of Suspense," and I have all of her episodes in one playlist. The chances of new radio dramas being produced are next to zero, partly because no one would know how you even do it, and there's no talent. Anyway . . . Welcome to our channel! You join folks from the U.S.A. the UK, Canada & Australia just to name a few! Feel free to comment anytime - Charlie
@@audiobooksmore3374 @Suspense & ESCAPE! I agree the stars of my childhood were awfully good but I don't discount those who came later like Robert DeNiro, Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, Anthony Hopkins, Parker Posey...and that's not counting newer talent I haven't kept up with (there's a very good sampling of them in Omeleto short films right here on RUclips). There must be quite a few among them who are capable of studying old-time radio drama and developing their chops. Stacy Keach has already done fairly extensive work in radio theater. And as for knowing how it's done, the crew of any successful public radio variety show would be a good place to start. In fact there have already been radio drama renderings of such literary works as Frank Norris's novel McTeague (ok, McTeague was produced before the turn of the century but that's not so long ago). Anyway don't abandon hope yet. I for one will keep dreaming...
Cute the way Moorehead did the whole episode in that Billie Burke voice. Somehow it made those mocking last lines more effective.

@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered I'm afraid you're correct - the talent today doesn't match the talent of yesteryear.

TY as always for taking the time & trouble to upload another super episode, of a consistently super series :-)
Roma Wines will now always conjure a feeling of....suspense!
I'll never forget Roma Wines. lol. 😸🍷🍾🥂
Thank you, Scarlett!

I think Mrs. Moorehead was quite attractive
Only she didn't say "my stars and crown" nearly enough
I recognize Stephen's nervous voice as Mr. WILSON from Dennis The Menance.
Agnes can act! Plus, as an extra added bonus . . .she has the perfect face for radio!
I can’t listen to her without picturing Samantha’s mother yelling at one or the other Darren!
"ROMA Wines" made in California for enjoyment throughout the World.
Lol
Damnit, did she get the ticket back that he took for “safe keeping” or not!?!
Did she get the money and live happily ever after?
Of course she did!
Her new husband is abusive. Hiding something?
