I like coffee note in fragrances, but it has to be blended with vanilla or chocolate, then it is more delicious, maybe this one is like that. Great review as always, Peter:)

I'm a big fan of Kerosene, but not much coffee fragrances, in general. However, this has been on my to-sniff-list for a couple years and I hope to get to it this Fall. Cheers, Peter.

Oh, dang, am going to have to get some of this now, and the 100 mL bottles are back-ordered at Indie Scent already // again!
On the lower and still delicious and rather naturalistic end, I recommend layering over LUSH's Cardamom Coffee solid perfume, if any can still be found.
Now that the cool temperatures are constant and dipping, all-out is bursting my cravings for lush, dark florientals* and chocolatey, truffley, anisic gourmands.
Just made my own lightly scenting and moisturizing coconut and coffee body scrub with patchouli and a touch of leather to it, using real coarsely-ground coffee as the flavoring (along with some synthetic boost) and exfoliant, along with sugar and coconut oil. I also made my own fairly complex coffee -- musk -- vanilla solid perfume using strained and concentrated espresso and other perfume accents (e.g., Fendi Theorema) as part of the thing. Not commercially viable to use real comestibles in your perfume concoctions, of course, but if you want that real wonderful coffee smell for less than $170 . . . you really can have it, if you're willing to experiment and keep your inventions in the fridge. :-D
* Was wearing two sprays of Lapidus Rumba this aft, sitting 3 meters across from a friend on his back porch in a kind of open-air vestibule. He's a taciturn fellow on the outside, but very passionate about smells too. Our chat was punctuated a few times by his exclamations of, "What is _THAT_ ?? I keep getting these . . . [divine] _wedges_ of scent from your direction!" (Leather, honey, carnation, ambergris, marigold, and tuberose, to _start_ , in the pyramid for that 'Ladies from the 80s' diva number. :-))
This sweater weather is perfect also for the likes of Guerlain L'Instant Pour Homme . . .
Follow smells to me of strong coffe mixed with puffed rice. It's very nice layered with white florals.
I haven't found a coffee or chocolate fragrance that I enjoy, even though o love coffee and chocolate. I'll have to try this one. I blind bought Kerosene's Unknown Pleasures and was blown away; one of my best blind buys ever

My Favorite Coffee frag. It also only last about 5 hours on me. However I don’t mind because it gives me a chance to put on a different scent for the afternoon. Coffee in the morning and then onto something else!

Still haven't found a coffee frag that tops it. Just got HdP's Fidelis to layer with it, since the coffee can be intense at times. Funnily enough, I HAVE gotten a few "you drink too much coffee" remarks while wearing it, despite not drinking any that day. 😂 Since that time, I've only ever sprayed it under my shirt. A nice summation Peter!

I’m glad you got your nose on this. I recommend Follow to every fan of coffee fragrances in that it has both the dark coffee / espresso and the sweet amber and vanilla, both extremes, and it performs very well. Certainly the go-to in the market among coffee-dominant fragrances.

I loved seeing your first impression of Follow! I like coffee, not sure if I'd like to be smelling of it for an extended time. If it was realistic, could remind me of my sister who used to come home smelling like coffee from being a barista. Will have to try out Kerosene's offerings. I really like this and blackmail, true people around me might not understand why I want to smell like fresh ground coffee or Smokey sweet campfire, i have a lot of crowd pleasers but keep these types just for me 😊cos it’s a real comforting calming scent for my senses and mood. That’s important too. My happy place
That was my first impression too! Wow! Most realistic coffee scent ever ... as sitting in a coffee shop and smelling it all around
I've tried some coffee scents in the last couple of years, this is the most authentic. At first I thought I couldn't stand wearing it, but I was lucky to purchase a tester at Tigerlily in San Francisco, and I love it.
Mmmmm, now I must make me a cup of coffee! :)

Nice review! I like this house! My favorite coffee fragrance is actually de toma a zouma by motif olfactif from Oswald of Mr.Oz but its not really the center of the fragrance but quite easily noticable. I don't drink coffee nor do I love the smell of pure coffee. Everyone has liked follow. But not quite for me.

Not sure i'll enjoy this one Personally, Have a gut feeling my Father will enjoy it though. The man never stops drinking coffee, So seems like a good choice for Christmas for him. Will try and get a sample though for him to try.

Follow has such an amazing & delicious opening, its the best of the coffee's I've smelt yet, but sadly that only lasts about 30 minutes at most - and then it fades to almost nothing on me. I think I only got a couple of hours in total.
It's a shame, as it really is beautiful & if it lasted a decent amount of time - I would have brought a bottle in a heartbeat, but with that performance I can't justify its pricetag 😣

That's a shame about the performance for you!! I might do one day, Hermitage Oils sells some nice Coffee Absolutes, the raw material is a little expensive, but I think I could do something with it.. If I was to do a coffee scent, I'd probably mix it with caramel and nutmeg, maybe a little rose
@@FragranceView I was actually looking at Hermitages coffee offerings recently, just out of curiosity really. I was very tempted to get some until I saw the minimum spend & I just thought - if I'm going to spend that amount, I'd rather buy an actual perfume from an indie brand instead of fannying about & failing at making one myself. 😂
Thanks for the review. Do you know what is the ingredient used in coffee accords? Its just that alot of them smell kinda similar-ish to my nose....like dried coffee sediments (e.g. Akro - Awake)
you can buy Coffee Co2, Coffee Tincture and Coffee Absolute, so I imagine the good ones use the real stuff
