I love Gary...and admire his talent. However Military Man sung by Phil Lynott and Gary playing the guitar...was so much more magic. RIP GARY and PHIL Australia ❤️
Gary was a handsome man disfigured by a horrible scar he got it a bar brawl. Phil alluded to him in Romeo and The Lonely Girl - For all his good looks, there were scars that he took. And a lesson to be learned - Romeo being an anagram for Moore. It all came out in his solos though. The blood, sweat and tears. Santana, Beck, Gallagher . . It's all in there. I remember once in an interview he said he never learned to read or write music. He just knew where the notes were and boy did he!
This was right before he went pure blues. Such a shame. He should have kept the hard rock style going. Not too crazy about his blues era. This is just sublime. RIP Gary.
this song should get like 1 million views easily. so beautifully crafted. especially the solos. Hope 1 day the Messiah will come to the States in a form Gary Moore Tribute band. I know lots of good guitar player s r fro m Europe. Mr. Gary Moore is a genius. I am mesmerized by his soloing style. Heard lots of Pink Floyd.. tribute bands ....but Where are all The Gary Moore Bands tribute bands? Greetings from the States.
@@eoinf2004 nope the profile w just a coincident. Reason in put the victim of the future as the profile to show how I love Gary Moore so much. So reader like you will know. Also, To me Gary Moore is my guitar hero. But it is cool that u mentioned it.
To answer your question ‘where are the Gary Moore tribute bands’? I think the answer is no one can play like him. Haven’t heard a guitarist with his touch or feel or speed or technique. He had everything. Most guitarists simply aren’t able to play like him.

Awesome. F awesome. Thank you for sharing this. He played with sheer energy, awesome power, speed, his emotive moments with his blues tinged phrasing is just beautiful. He had it all. I saw him in concert in 1989 at Sheffield City Hall. I hope the messiah will come again, one day.

I'm sure Chris Slade was drafted in while this tour had kicked off as Gary got rid of Cozy Powell due to clashes. Slade was probably not as used to the tunes.
It is not a Fender it was a Charvel he used, a red and a white, since late 70-tied and thru the 80-ties, that was remodified many times. It is on the cover of Dirt Fingers for example. It was his main, that and the red one, for many years. Did not sound too thin at all. He ha great tone. Check out the live clips from 1987… the looner or any other clip. Much better tone than the Les Paul to me.

Untouchable, so much emotion in his playing, no other guitarist has that
the only one who makes the guitar cry
There will no one like him ever in this millennium...I mean no one.
this the beauty of Gary Moore guitar playing.
Surly one of the greatest most consistent guitar players there ever was !
True legend
100 agree.
I Love you Gary !! Gary ich war im Spital ,hatte eine OP ,aber ich bin wieder zu Hause bei meinen Gitarren und deinen Bildern.❤
One of the best Guitar solos I have ever heard.....Was lucky enough to be in the crowd for this one....Thanks for posting... RIP Gary...
the best with a Lp but Sykes and Personne are great too
the king of melodic solo
Of course. I said the same thing about "Parisenne Walkways". For me, Gary Moore is a genius in guitar soloing.
he could play everything clearly and at the highest level..top...!!
Garys playin/music is my religion
Gary Moore RIP. One of the greatest guitarists ever. His passion for the Blues shines through the rock metal of that era. Born to play the Blues.
Ich vermisse dich so sehr Gary !!
Incredibile non l ho sentito prima di ora........ Fa volare...................
.... Grazie Gary grazie grazie.......
Gary u are missed!!!
Such an intense song, until the break in the middle when it gets smooth as silk.

One of his most beautiful solos Gary ever played, thank so you much for posting it. I was at this gig and have great memories of it.
Genius simple as god bless gary and rory
Give Phil some love. He wrote the song and it's his. The fact Gary doesn't mention Phil everytime he plays it bothers me a bit. Not going to lie.

Los mejores solos de guitarra de todos los tiempos !. Increíble !!! RIP Master !!!
I imagine Gary as a great jockey on one of the great thorobreds who could be Secretariat..or any of the greats as one w Gary..leading the field ..
09:28 faster than the speed of light. I also like what he does at 06:32
No more words to describe it anymore. It is just pure magic. Just sit back and enjoy it .
The greatest.....pure mighty fine.
Probably the best live Post-Phil version of this song.
R.I.P. Gary..thanks for the influence for my playing!!!
The best guitar solo of all time!?

"Military man" was written by Lynott, Philip Parris.
Mama, take a look at your boy
He's a military man
Papa, take a look at your boy
He's crying
Papa, take a look at your boy
He's a soldier
Mama, take a look in his eyes
They're colder
Papa, take a look at your boy
He's a military man
Mama, take a look at your boy
He's dying
Papa, take a look at your boy
He's fighting
Mama, take a look at your boy
He's frightened
They have trained your boy to kill
And kill some day, he will
They have trained your boy to die
And ask no questions why
Papa, take a look at your boy
Take a look at your boy
Take a look at your boy
He's a killer, yeah
Mama, take a look at your boy
Take a look at him now
Take a look at your boy
He's a soldier, he's colder, he's older, mama
Mama, take a look at your boy
Obey the order
Mama, take a look at your boy
Like a lamb to slaughter
They have trained your boy to kill
And kill some day, he will
They have trained your boy to die
And ask no questions why
One day I will write for you a love song, mother
As the children say, "I love you", please hold me
And you and I, we will live our life together
Until that day when we die, I will love you, mother
I will always love you
I am writing from this war
Oh mama, I don't know what I'm fighting for
And have you seen my children?
God bless them, kiss them
And tell them that I miss them
See I'm frightened in the dark
Mama, mama, the blood is ankle deep
They have trained your boy to kill
Kill someday, he will
They have trained your boy to die
Papa, take a look at your boy
Take a look at your boy
Take a look at your boy
He's marching, he's a soldier
Oh mama, oh mama
He's on the street
He's marching to the back beat
Is that Chris Slade on drums? Chris Slade
Totally class!
Drumming is all over the shop
I'm sure Chris Slade was drafted in while this tour had kicked off as Gary got rid of Cozy Powell due to clashes. Slade was probably not as used to the tunes.
@@swordoflight56 you're right
@Steve: Yes, and straight to AC/DC, after the Tour
Midnight oil on drums
I think Victory were Special Guest ... in Zurich Switzerland, on March 28th were Victory Special Guest.
I believe Victory was Special Guest
Yes they were with Herman Franck from Accept.
RIP Hubert
the video is broken in several places
I would have appreciated a warning of that in the title of the vid here.
@@Michael----- yes Gary Moore needs a correct image-video-sound-synch
Bob Daisley/bass and Neil Carter/keys?
Yes sir.
I love this song, but it is not near as good without Phil. Gary on guitar is stellar, but Phil is missed in all ways including musically here.
It looks like Chris Slade - I guess right before he joined AC/DC?
this fender just sounds thin....gary wanted to change it, but les paul has the better lead sound and fender the better clean sound

yes
Maybe Charlie Morgan.
Not the same without phil
Phil's voice was better or this song.
3'41" what the f ?
Dissappointing !, the vocals of Phillo was the driving force in this song.
