I am a Quant Analyst. There is a difference between a Quant Analyst and a Quant developer. I can tell you his work does not sound to be that of quant dev. He is more on the analysis and monitoring side.

His role isn't a Quant role. I know seniors who actually joined the Quant roles people target and they were inside top 200 rankings in JEE. Companies like NK Securities, Citadel won't even look at your resume if you aren't top 500 in JEE. Misguiding video giving false hopes to people that they can become a quant. There's handful of people working in HFTs and Quant research teams even in top companies, breaking into Investment Banking, Private Equity is much easier than getting into an HFT. You will need top IITs or extremely well regarded Phd in stats or maths to have chances.

@@abhaymaru7212 try for something like Equit Research or Fixed Incom Research. With poor academics PE IB is not possible, you will need to do a MBA after ER or FI research
@@kumarprateek238 Iits are only in india and people working in these quant roles can be from any country jee rank is only a metric in india to measure. Hfts outside india don't look at your jee rank they see your problem solving abilities but you will need a strong resume to apply in the first place to get selected for an interview.
@@ritvikreddy3959 Kid it's even tougher outside. Citadel hires kids from India and Da Vinci hires kids from India and takes them outside. Not only you will be competing with Indians but folks from MIT and other top colleges who are anyday much smarter than most of the IITians

yes bro i am in class xii - PCM right now, didn't wanted to go the JEE route and this year i figured out that i should look forward to Hedge funds and quat prop trading firms and now i am firm that i not gonna waste a year for jee instead try for BSc Maths Hons in Delhi university and go for good MFE programs abroad. Kindly note dear, US edu system is V. VERY different from India's. In India, there's this shallow stupid bs schema that people subscribe to which is, if you're not a science guy then you're not of any value or if you're not from a technical background then you can't learn x, y, z! Nothing can be further from the truth, it is a function of (how passionate, driven and you're willingness to put in the work) to break into any domain/industry. This is not pop psychology bs, there's a neuroscience that supports this!
Now, unlike India, in US there are overwhelming no. of people who did say BA in Russian literature and then PhD in Physics or BA in liberal arts to PhD computer Sc./PhD maths. Not even kidding! The data is there. Ofcourse these peeps didn't transition their career through some politician/lawyer or under-the-table scheme. These peeps demonstrated their motivation and eligibility non laterally, it could be independent projects, internships, some personal research, what have you! There are much more meaningful ways of assessing a candidate's eligibility other than grades and degrees.
Now, MIT is in the US. MIT and all other ivy leagues also have a very holistic and comprehensive selection process that accounts for many non conventional parameters. So if you're able enough to live out that example which demonstrates how connected you are to the subject you're applying for then I'd say you have a non zero probability of getting in. In other words, you'll be that 'black swan' who will shape the fixed, shallow and linear mindsets of Indians.
I have tons of such examples of peeps who break into Ivy's, Cal and MIT, if it makes you feel any better.
Now chuck your grades and pursue knowledge for its own sake!

On LinkedIn, I see IITB CSE Toppers under 50 JEE Ranks working at these roles and yes their paycheck is a fat one, 2cr is average for them

Bhaiya please make a video for how to get into companies for a quant researcher role just after graduation (please don't keep masters constraints, for the people who can't afford it - the time & money both) even at the most junior level specially companies based out of Delhi NCR (gurugram/noida - I'm location constrained too unfortunately due to certain reasons). That would really be helpful and do mention company names available in these places too.
