    Of the six hosts of NBC's "The Tonight Show"-Steve Allen, Jack Paar, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, and Jimmy Fallon-Johnny was the best, the most versatile, the most multi-talented, the multi-faceted of the six! He was in a comedic legend in a lead of his own!

      The current covid format stinks they should not tape the show until it is post Covid. Johnny was the best.

    • @christopherlees1134
      @christopherlees1134 3 года назад +4

      Agreed! I hated the way the show was suddenly "modernized" when Leno (who himself was not bad) took over. Conan sucked. Way too many gay overtones in all of his narratives. What's up with that?

    • @Tre404
      @Tre404 3 года назад +1

      I think you mean a "league" of his own. And as far as being multitalented, I think Fallon wins that title, because he is a musician, not a bad comic, and an actor. Johnny was the GREATEST, but he wasn't actually multitalented. Still, give me Mr. Carson ANY DAY over the rest of them. Sure miss the guy.

    As a result of Jay Leno being given the "Tonight Show" hosting job-David Letterman hosted a late-evening comedy/variety/music program called "Late Show, With David Letterman"-which ran on CBS from Monday evening, August 30'th, 1993 to May, 2015. Counting his years as host of NBC"s "Late Night, With David Letterman-Dave was hosting on late evening television for 33 years and 3 months! AND-he did an excellent job!

      I have to say that I always thought Letterman sucked. He was the low budget B-Team. To me, it was Johnny and no one else.

      In the end, letterman became overtly political. Thus he lost his greatness.

    • @sheilamacdougal4874

      Letterman was a talentless bore. Actually the only interesting question about him is how he managed to keep his job so long. Presumably all the right asses were kissed, but it still is a mystery.

      What I heard is Leno got the job because he was willing to do more work, meeting with affiliates, etc. and kiss more backside than letterman.

    Dear Class, Angel man "Mr." Barry Manilow, a 10th Degree - Whitebelt in/re 10 Commandment Way now, always, regardless of all always, shows such great form in his music & performance here, as always too, but particularly in this performance.
    He demonstrates great good Classical form in his Music, performance, & singing. If you pay close enough attention, you can see & witness his outstanding form in his stance, with perfect balance, and a stance that promotes good health, good circulation, good blood flow, good nerve stimulation, good Chi', and good vocal power. It goes right to maximizing his performance & voice. He looks great and totally comfortable & happy. Wow, those slacks are so classy & topped out for his show business Career, yikes. Class, when you work as hard as Mr. Barry Manilow you get to "earn" such a nice wardrobe.
    It was great to see Barry happy and very much totally in love in his life, with a happy perfect Romance & Marriage for him to his loving Wife, yay!
    For years and years I have endured other peoples' criticism of Barry Manilow, based on envy of his genius talent, perfect pitch, gloriful music, and total success, and based on this and on that, peoples sometimes get jealous or envious of other peoples' fame, fortune, & success.
    But after years and years of listening to such awful criticism, I 100% totally Defended Mr. Barry Manilow & all of his wonderful music & performances from the critics, with this simple statement, for one thing.........."You'll NEVER be Barry Manilow", lol.
    Barry Manilow works totally hard at & regarding "perfection" in his performances, Class, a goal & credo of Show Business, which Barry exemplifies so well. It's great for us all to know and see & witness what to try for, if we are going to go on stage, on TV, & on the Internet, as Mr. Manilow does so well, .........."perfection".
    Signed,
    an Eternal Barry Manilow fan who is profoundly influenced by Mr. Barry Manilow & his awesome music, always, regardless of all always.

    pannoni 8, I tried to find a way to contact you, on your site here, but couldn't find a way. My question is, I've been looking for the entire shows, of the "KopyKats" which was on an every 3-week rotating basis on I believe the Kraft Music Hall....in the mid-70's. All the impressionists: Rich Little, John Byner, George Kirby, Will Jordan, Marilyn Michaels, Frank Gorshin--all of them would do skits. I have like 2-minute clips, but am looking for the entire shows. Per chance, do you have any full episodes? And also, when Don Rickles hosted the "Tonight Show" for Johnny--some of the best TV ever! Do you perchance have those as well? (Mid-Late 70's)
