Sammy Davis Jr. is the epitome of gifted and talented. No formal education, yet extremely intelligent, sophisticated and worldly. And on top of it all Sammy is humble and self-reflective. Truly one of the greatest entertainers and humans of all time.

One of the most talented people ever. Musician (drums, trumpet, piano, vibraphone), singer, dancer, comedian, actor. And a veteran.

    WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
Saw Sammy live in Melbourne,Australia in the early 60's at a venue called Festival Hall & he was magnificent, doing his singing, dancing, impersonations & six-gun display.
He is certainly the most gifted performer,i have ever seen & he will always be remembered.

What was your intoxicant of choice when you wrote your comment? What cigarette? Watch his hands. He lit one up after the interview began.

3:17 and sammy davis jr reaction is so adorable.. david didn't know why he laughed so hard- and neither do any of us really.. but he loved it...what a superb moment

My impression is that he's laughing when he hears the absurdity of him being only three years old when it happened. When David asks if there were more three years olds there he realizes how incredibly small and unique that was: "I can't believe it" Haha lovely interview!

Sammy was talented, don’t get me wrong, but the only one in this list you could even remotely compare him to is Dylan.

Had the wonderful experience of seeing Sammy Davis Jr. when I was 18 ( oh so many years ago....he was performing in Las Vegas and billed....with the Will Maston Trio.... just before his terrible accident...and before his great show business breaks! He worked very hard that night and many others... Saw one program in which he said he worked like 350 days a year,, or was it 360? Did he ever rest? Hope a later story wasn't true....that he died 10 million in debt.
