You can do the deep conditioner in the shower. I apply with my hair flipped upside down, with it right-side up and parted and then give it a gentle brush with a Wet Brush to ensure it's evenly coated. I scrunch it, making sure there's plenty of water in it (or adding a tad more deep conditioner if necessary) and then put on a shower cap. You can then finish your shower and rinse! I specifically use Eva NYC's Therapy Mask because it's only a 5-minute wait. Great for coarse hair.
😮 thank you! I have those two products but haven't used them both yet. I destroyed my hair last weekend by leaving a heavy curl conditioner on my hair for 3 hours. I'm getting ready to fix it soon, but I'm still learning the CGM. I typed in specific keywords: high porosity, wavy, 2c hair, which I needed this video.❤
Wow! three hours??! That's a super long time! I do an hour at the most. But, Im so glad to hear this helped!! We have videos on how to wash and deep condition in an effective manner also!
@@cayscurlsoh thank you for replying! Actually, I was going to leave it overnight but I'm so glad I didn't! It's because I heard a RUclipsr influencer recommend it but I suppose they could be wrong. Anyway, I'll have to definitely check out your videos on washing and conditioning soon. I was so upset because just recently, my hair became super matted and knotted, and my husband had to help me untangle it. Right now I'm using Curl Quench shampoo and conditioner from Maui Moisture. I used my Wet brush in the shower during conditioner like last time but for some reason, it gave serious problems. It's like my hair keeps changing from one week to the next. As for the NYM defining cream, it does not give me any definition or frizz hold at all. But if I add the flexible gel, then it's better. For years I used OGX coconut curls air-dry defining cream, but lately the formula has been watered down and changed, so I tried switching to a better different brand. My hair looked amazing last week, but I was in tears yesterday. My wavy curls aren't very defined this time. I'm probably going to ditch the cream and just use the gel. As for the super dry tangled hair, Idk what happened. Is it possible to have a mix of high and low porosity, as well as fine and coarse texture? I don't use any hot tools or color. My hair is very long however. I definitely don't want to give up or cut it. Thank you again ❤️💜💚 Edit: I'm rewatching, and I'll be using this video for reference whenever I forget! I didn't apply my gel correctly this time. And I'm convinced, I need that spray bottle, and the right towel, even the clips. Thank you so much for sharing these tips.❤❤
@@OpalMoonstone247 water is Crucial for moistured curls! Your hair should pretty much be dripping before adding products. I would definitely use a leave in conditioner and gel still. The leave in hydrates your curls and moisturizes them, and the gel seals/locks in the moisture! I would love to chat more with you, see your hair, and help however I can! You should sign up for my free 20 min video consultation and we could go from there! I could also send you some product recommendations based on your porosity type. And it’s definitely possible to have more than one porosity.
Finally someone who uses two drug store products. It's about time. Well done. I'm 55 and still don't know what to do with my curls, but this was straight forward and simple. Maybe one day I will get the hang of this!
@@cayscurls I also love seeing so much diversity on you channel! I have 2c waves with a few 3as but I looooove learning how other curlies with denser structures style their hair 🤓 Simply out of curiosity and admiration 😇

This is fantastic! So simple and straightforward! I've got the same hair type and I hope to have at least similar results.

@@SulaiLunaLight yasss!! It’s all so very similar, just a few adjustments, depending on the porosity and a few other things!
This video was so helpful - thank you! Which shampoo do you use?
Why dry it with a towel if you’re going to re wet it?
💯preciate it
I get frizz while diffusing from bottom up ..
Thank you. Currently struggling with high porosity hair... it never dries.
