Fun fact, this episode is the reason I can't flush a toilet without the seat being down, and can't even stand near one with the seat up unless I am using it.

because of this episode, ever since teenager i always bring my toothbrush and other toiletries into my bedroom whenever im not using it. No longer let it at bathroom
But the fecal coliforms were on the control toothbrushes that weren't even in the baathroom so it clearly doesn't matter. You're brushing your teeth with shit no matter what.

It's an ignorance is bliss situation.
As gross as it is to think about, the simple fact is people don't get sick from the toothbrushes sharing a room with your toilet.
Not to mention pursuit of cleanliness results in us becoming more susceptible to disease overall. A little dirt (up to a limit) is good for most people.
Jamie knew that his little soldiers wouldn't work. He just wanted Discovery to buy a bunch a pneumatic actuators for his shop.
Those little yellow guys showed up in many mythbusters builds after this episode.
Jamie straight up invented a new waterskying tecnique, using arms extension to fight the surges of power.
Mythbusters wouldn't have worked if Adam and Jamie were always on the same frequency.

One time I found my toothbrush on the floor in the bathroom. OK it obviously got knocked down somehow. I rinsed it off and put it back. A few days later it happened again. Strange.
A few days later, I spotted something on the floor that looked like a raisin. (You got where this is going?). Long story short, it turned out that rats had got in under the house and gnawed a hole through the weakened floorboards by the side of a water pipe under the bath. The bathroom has a self-closing door fortunately so they didn't get into the rest of the house but each night they were getting into the bathroom and stealing soap pieces and presumably licking toothpaste remnants off my brush.
This is soooo disgusting 😂

I live in Puerto Vallarta, and there are numerous swinging bridges, smaller ones away from tourists that are not suspension but pipe and diamond grate. There are several a little bit longer than the one that was built for the show. It is easy to get them swaying and bouncing up and down. When I cross alone I go rapidly down the middle at a short step and the bridge does not move much at all. When it is single file with opposing traffic our steps are longer but anti rythmn. Once in a while with school kids crossing the river will play games and get the bridge swaying and bouncing. It is dangerous for me with a cane so I stop and hang on or wait for them to cross. I have no doubt they could break these bridges with a trampoline sync style bounce. Two have heavy traffic and are stiffer but the bounce is in them. The worst times are with tourists who have no idea. I believe bridges could be brought down by marching but my question and experience is why once the bridge started to move in a harmonic of the march beat did they continue. It must have been a case of military intelligence. LMAO.
Just as the starting minutes run I remember seeing all of these myths being tested when this episode was new. Credit to the producers of this film that I remember what happened in this episode from 20 years ago.
