It’s race weekend for F1 GP in Imola. This is the perfect kickstart to my speedy weekend.

Enough dick sucking guys...

They forgot that in the weight loss test most of the sweat/water loss will stil be in the driving suit, they should have done the before and after weight without the suit on.
Exactly what I thought. I’ve done 2-3 hrs workouts and my thin gear weighs a lot and can be rung out with sweat. The most I’ve ever lost is 6lbs, but I weighed around 145 Lbs at the time (with 142 lbs being my finishing weight, my starting weight that day was 148). I’d imagine the more you weigh, or the bigger you are, the more water you retain and the more calories you burn.
Same goes for the control test. They were wearing their bathing suits and their hair was wet. Should have dried out before weighing.
Thats an American show... Theyre so ignorant that they didnt Look any further than America. This myth is Not even a myth. F1 drivers weigh before and after Race and weve already known that they lose that much weight in races. So Theres nothing to debunk.
True that. And besides, the driving they do, is only half as exhausting as a real race.
the manhole thing actually happened during the inaugural las Vegas F1 race were a sewer cap kept being popped out.
Not just Vegas, it happened many times in F1, like the first F1 in China. I don't know why Mythbusters can't replicate the result.
@AndrewNiccol IndyCar probably wouldn't let them acknowledge the existence of other racecars. I would have loved to have seen them make their own "fan car" to replicate the results though.
I know that the new F1 cars have big, crazy diffusers, probably do significantly more than the car they tested.
It should not have been busted. It has happened. They just couldn't replicate it.
They drove a 2 seater with more weight and less speed and didn't use a real manhole cover or a sewer.
So, they didn't copy the exact same environment.
That manhole is still there today. According to Google Earth it was built between 2012 and 2013 and there it stayed ever since, along the race track.
Wow
The Weight "myth" still stands. All the fluid he lost is in the 3 layers of flame resistant material in hos suit, his balaclava, helmet lining and socks. For the test to count he would need weighing NOT in the race kit before and after. Secondly the video said his speed was 120 mph. An Indy driver would be regularly 200+ (I am however incredibly jealous he got to drive that thing though :) ). As far as the drain covers go just ask the Ferrari F1 team if they come up or not?
Only Americans think that their stuff is "The most Famous.."
They also have 'World Championships' where only America takes part.
@@mycroftsanchez901 yeah, it's really silly lmao. "national news" means world news to them, "the government", assuming everywhere has the same laws.
I hope you never meet a Frenchman then!
@@mycroftsanchez901 'World Championships' is my favorite part. Although with baseball you have to believe it. Apart from Japan(?) there is no country where it has any popularity.
@@mycroftsanchez901 the american sports are baseball, nfl, basketball, sort of hockey, and nascar. Baseball is called mlb only the world series final game has the word world and is by far the most competitive in the world. Baskerball is called nba, the national basketball league. Football is called the nfl also national and the final game is the american vs national team game. Hockey is shared with Canada and is also called the national hockey league and the final game is the stanley cup final. And nascar is named from national as well. All world championships america competed in are called national championships. So what the hell are you guys going on about? Im not even American, i just dont like when people claim ridiculously incorrect things.
Surprised they didn't do the pre- and post race weigh-ins in their underwear instead of still being in the sweat-drenched outfits
100% agreed
I was thinking, this doesn't make sense.
Yeah, how much of the sweat is still in the racesuit?
@@HappyBeezerStudios a lot
100%. I was like "If the water's in the suit, it's going to register... what the fuck"
From finland, 60 celsius is nice sauna temperature here. Some prefer 80 celsius. So 160 or 176 farenheit. Though i like to be 30 to 60min in there. Danger is far from these kind of saunas.
Carrie in the sauna was one of the first moments of my childhood that I was like "Damn women are so hot"
I was 100% prepared to believe Kari was going in the sauna with her boots on.
This is one of the best episodes.
George Russell in 2019 Azerbaijan Grand Prix got a poorly welded manhole out, and destroyed it's Williams floor, so it is possible
If there’s one episode I’d be envious of the MythBusters on, it’d be this one.
Try that manhole cover myth with an F1 car and the car gets destroyed. It happens now and then on street circuits.
I read a long time ago somewhere that Bruce ("Three-Hour Concert") Springsteen and Michael ("Riverdance") Flatley could both lose 10 lbs/show in their heydays.
i feel like the flat aerodynamics of that plastic manhole cover could have fucked the test up, there's gonna be a lot more turbulence going over something textured like a manhole cover, the air will have a harder time moving over it so it might get sucked up more. source: i'm a commercial helicopter pilot so i have significant training on specifically aerodynamics
Source: "Trust me bro"
@@leolamorie-fitzgerald9216 there's a video of me flying from about four years ago on my channel titled 'boring infield circuit'. so yeah, the source is in fact, me. i could even post timestamped pictures of the outside of my license if that isnt enough for you.
Also the "Bueiro" cover in the water test was dragged out by the water, with completely different pysics than air
I'm pretty sure the manhole cover can be lift with by a more ground effect type of downforce like 70 F1, and current F1 and Indycar. There is a reason they weld manholes at Monaco, Singapore and all street circuits. We even saw few years ago in Baku and last year Las vegas GP the damages that happend when those covers are not trully attached.
In F1 it already happened various times that a manhole cover came lose. Remember the one rocketing trough Russells car in Baku?
And Sainz got taken out in Las Vegas last year by a manhole cover.
It happened even earlier, DTM race in Shanghai in 2004

Most of our waste we actually breathe out. Calories consist of hydrocarbons and our muscles use oxygen to convert that into CO2 and water.
Cutting 10 pounds in a day will all be sweat, not burned fat
Calories are a form of measurement of energy/heat we dont have actual hydrocarbons in our body we have some things similar. Can u explain how a measurement of energy has ingredients esp hydrocarbons?
@@cammos Most of the ... waste ... isn't even put into the metabolism and just stays in the gut until it comes out the other end. And then obviously the filtering mechanism that allows us to pee.
It must have been an interesting morning after they swallowed those thermometers
I mean look at last years las vegas grand prix
Roshambo in my social circle and anyplace ive ever heard it mentioned was always a game where you take turns kicking eachother in the nuts and who ever gives up wins. Not rock paper scissors...usually doesnt get past the first half round.
120F in a sauna is way too cold. It's almost that much before i even start a fire in the heater. Proper sauna temperature is closer to 200F or hotter. In my opinion. 😁
the car has also laid down a lot of rubber which will give more traction with every run they do
Ask Carlos Sainz Jr. what he thinks of this myth... By the way, there's more suction under the sidepods instead of the center of the car. Large difference.
I also thught they might have looked myth that an F1 car has so much downforce it can be driven upside down (underneath a bridge).
Actually, next week is Indy 500.
Is it coincidence?
What would be interesting to know is how much of that sweat is still in the overalls... i.e. they should have taken the weight (almost) nude before and after. I suspect there's quite a bit of sweat in that outfit right after the race.
weighing in full kit isnt too accurate as the gear will be holding a fair amount of sweat. best weigh in without it. good fun though.
I guess hindsight is 20/20 but they should definitely have tested without the suits. That plus they forgot to mention that the guys were exerting maybe 50-75% the effort of the pros in an open wheel race car.
Has anyone seen the weigh in numbers from F1? I know they have a drink system but I'm curious now
Around 4kg on average maybe more in places like Singapore and in the middle eastern races
This was so funny to watch haha. And painful at times.
If they wanted to know if drivers really lose 10 pounds, they should've just checked the data of the governing body of indycar. They keep track of these things. At least in F1, the FiA does it. Don't know if and who in indycar does it. But it would surprise me if there weren't any data.
Not put a guy in a car who drives 1/3 the speed of the actual drivers. This isn't scientific.
Edit: Continued watching and holy hell. They think putting these 3 clowns in roadracing cars around willow springs for 3 hours, would be the same as driving an indycar for 3 hours. I can't man
Edit: They acknowledged it. Still, why even run around willow springs haha. I guess they wanted to just have a fun day.
They have to start Mythbusters again
Adam might do it, but Jamie is teaching in Finland.
Nono all things must come to a end
11:45 He has his name on the calculator. 🤣Bless this man.
That's the device he's using to read his temperature, the name is presumably because they would had one for each of them.
They should have done these myths with Jesse
I cant believe they actualy let u put a man hole in the indy racetrack thats crazy.lol
It's in the service road/runoff area right next to the track. It's actually still there and can be seen on satellite. Coordinates 39.794391,-86.234838
24:11 ironic
Um... Tory casually flashing his costars was left in?
I wonder why F1 drivers don't use those furry cooling vests, probably just not a big enough concern to warrant the extra equipment🤷♂
Probably because of the extra weight.
You cant fit to F1 car with loots of clothing and it add weight too.
Its very precise machine instead of Indy cars what is like builded in shed:):)
The most physically demanding sport is rugby with motocross placing a close second. On a warm (not hot) day pro motocross riders can lose 10 lbs in a single race. I lose about 2 to 2 1/2 lbs per hour pushing pretty hard off road (cross country?) but not actually racing.
I think im safe in assuming that professional marathon racing is the most physically demanding sport.
I thing F1 is very close too because you have high mental stress too, keeping very high speed, keeping brakes/tires warm, defend or push to win.
Ever heard about combinated challange too?
I forgott name in english you swim, run, sword play, horse race and shooting on targets.
You need to know loots of things instead of one thing.
Hah iam curious about how hard is driving F1 car iam sure its much more harder then Indy car.
She's more heavy then the guys ???😮
one car won't be able to dislodge a manhole cover but if multiple cars going over it at 150mph if may be very different scenario and a very dangerous one.
The Egocentric Nature of the American, Will Never Cease to Both Amaze & Disgust me.
Single million dollar car? I think more. 15 million for the car and 130 million that each team is allowed to spend on the car and materials.
Me too when i check F1 its like 12-20Mil Euros..
They said it costs one million for it to run it a day on the track, not that the car costs one million.
Haha that aged poorly. F1 cars lift welded manhole covers “all the time”. RUclips it.
Let's see them test the myth that an IndyCar has so much downforce it can drive upside down......
OK, Driver61 is actually going to try this. Crazy as it is.
You have to stop saying “in the world”. You mean “In America”. The most famous raceway in the world is one of - Nurburgring / silverstone / brands hatch /laguna seca / Abu Dhabi. This brick road raceway is not even in the top 5, probably not even in the top 10. The rest of the world has never heard of this loop, so you mean most famous “in America”.
I am not American, nor am I a huge fan of oval racing but let’s be real. Indianapolis is easily one of the most famous racetracks in the world. For sure more famous than Brands Hatch, Laguna Seca and Abu Dhabi.
Then again, so are Monaco, Spa, Monza and Le Mans (just to name a few) so I don’t think you are knowledgeable enough to decide for the rest of the world ;)
Ironic how isolated you seem with that comment
Isle of man TT FFS way more known
Agree
Bro Abu Dhabi… are you fucking serious?
scalextric f1 cars arent indycars...myth busted!
The racing closes are maybe also totally wet from the sweat? Should have been better weighting nude before and after the race ? 🤔
Kari buron is hot 🙂
The heat in those cars cant even come close to Indy cars so that test is pointless
3rd
Good luck doing that with a tesla 😅😂 how times have changed
I once did a solo 100-mile bike ride, and, knowing I'm a heavy sweater, I decided to weigh myself before and after.
I stepped on the scale wearing my backpack with all my water and food for the ride, so I was accounting for intake as well as output - all the food and water either went into my body or stayed in the backpack. If I wasn't burning calories or sweating, I would weigh the same after the ride.
I lost 17 pounds (just under 8 kg). I would estimate at least 15 of that was water weight.
Mythbusters is often making "Hollywood science" to create real-world results.
These are not the fastest race cars in the world. Top fuel is a lot faster.
Well can the top fuel car race on Indianapolis race track?
Can it run for 3 hours straight?
Lol?Jen engine drag cars beat top fuel ones easy.
I think Trust SCC have something to say with 1228Km top speed:):)
Carrie is so beautiful
Literally an angel
Relax guy, try to leave it to one creepy sentance per comment thread.
@@wingerding Whatever
100 mph = 161 km/h My normal night-travel speed her on the Autobahn (well, where it is still allowed).
Just before the 5 min mark the announcer claims that these (formula one) are the fastest race cars in the world. False!!! Nitro top fuel dragsters travel up to 339 mph within 1000'. That's 110 mph faster than the 240 mph these indy cars go. Top fuel dragsters are the fastest racecars in the world. There is a faster category & that's jet powered - salt flats cars. But they are not technically race cars as they are not in a race when they run. They are looking to get the land speed record - which is a contest - but hardly a race as there's nobody racing against you when you go for a land speed record. It could be several years before a top speed is contested. But it's never contested by conducting a race between 2 or more cars. It's just test of a speed record. However if you want to call them race cars anyway the these people on Mythbusters are lying twice - not just once - because there are 2 categories of cars that go faster. Way faster in fact. So I busted a myth right here that these guys are still believing. Someone should have a mythbusters - buster to challenge their lies - er rather "myths".
RIP Jessi
If you are taking about "cars" what about the groundspeed record cars that go over 1100km/h 😂😅
Top Fuel Dragster can go faster.
Manhole cover busted???? Yet its actually happened multiple times! Losing UPTO 10lbs plausible? Its actually confirmed every single race!! The "simulations" were a joke. Driving an indy car with a max top speed of 120mph isnt doing a thing physically, and to suggest mazda mx5s or a street camaro could even be considered the same type of physical activity is just pathetic yet they still lost half the claimed weight.
The claim weight loss myth had a certain number is strawman and not first time they claim to have busted a myth based it not meeting a standard they pulled their butts
They needed show the myths had real source not just what we (mis)heard.
Why did that show have those parts with the 3 young peoples? Their experiences were useless and not teaching anything in physics that a chimp wouldn't known, so what was the point of including those parts?
Entertainment and selling air time.
Hmm tory is only 5'11 I would quite tower over him I thought he would be at my height of 6'3 for some reason
