  • We take the NEW Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum for a rest drive offshore in some good swells where we go up and down swell while discussing speeds and fuel consumption plus comfort levels and the overall experience at the helm.
Next we take her inshore to run the twin Volvo 800 IPS (600hp) up to wide open throttle and discover her full speed potential before testing out the slow speed and marina manoeuvring.
Once again Riviera have produced a Sport Yacht that will accommodate a large family for the typical summer day boating activities and keep you happy right up to extended offshore trips to new and far away destinations.
This brand clearly excels at building ultra high quality yet super functional boats that are perfectly suited to harsh environments that include temperature extremes and true ocean conditions.
I found the 4600 to look and feel like a true Sports Yacht and she punches well above her weight when it comes to useability and practical design that will make owner operators lives easier when out on the water.
This is a boat for serious boaters.
    Please enjoy,
    Dan Jones

Dan your direct easy to understand explanations are well appreciated to us boat Aficionados. We currently own a Cruisers Yachts 420 Express and sell it in a heartbeat to purchase a Riv 4600 Platinum if our finances were in place. Thanks for taking your time and energy to produce all of the professional boat videos!

I really appreciate that! I know the Cruiser Yachts from my days as a broker. You will see a noticable upgrade in all areas onboard the Riv. Can recommend.

Oh it's just the Mavic 3 Classic. I just fly with all my sensors off and it lets you get really close to the ocea without the drone freaking out.

To my mind, both fuel efficiency and sea keeping demo'd on this run are truly impressive...and especially when maintaining that 8+ LPH fuel burn up past 30 kts. Moreover, giving us that wide angle shot from the opposing lounge area shows us just how comfortable you both were, even in that slop and wind when outside. And GREAT views as well, Dan. (If I thought it would help, I'd be checking my bank balance right now...)

You really do live in a boating paradise, beautiful...
    Beats south coast UK 😢
Love to see a review of the Belize 66 Daybridge by Riviera.
I think they're another level again?

Well I actually don't live in Australia anymore but yes it is a paradise for boating for sure! I'm talking with Riv about getting on a 66 Daybridge so we will attempt to make it happen as this does look like an exceptional boat! I suspect it's comparable to Sabre Yachts.

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Dan, I agree with Nezzer57, a Beliize 66 review would be fantastic, and if the Sedan is more readily available, that would be great too -- in fact, it's my preference of the two. Btw, I lived in Colombia when I was a kid when my Dad's career took us there while he worked for Pan American Airlines.

We have a Riviera SUV model. Would you please comment on the difference in ride quality for off shore between sport yacht hull vs SUV hull. The hull shape is quite different and I assume center of gravity as well. We often run in the North east Atlantic which is very rough and unpredictable. We love the brand but are hesitant switch to the sport yacht.

Yes I can... but which SUV model are you in now and what port are your boating out of? Best to email me info@dansboatlife.com.au as RUclips doesn't show me your replies on here. Sydney is also rough and unpredicatable which is where I test most of the boats so I should be able to explain if you just give me a bit more info? Overall every Riv I have tested and inspected is what I would refer to as a 'true' offshore hull. It's evident in the way they have been built and the placement of the heavy items within the hull to give you a good center of gravity.

Off shore? the shore is right there mate. You could swim to shore. Put a 100 nm to any land mass, thats off shore.

      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  11 месяцев назад +1

I'd be happy to. But the dealers lending me their boats for the tests generally have limits on how many hrs I can put on these new boats. Plus as soon as you get out the heads it's 1,000NM+ to any land mass so fairly good testing ground considering the swells we get rolling in.

Aren't all boats offshore by their very nature? Think I'd be more impressed if you drove it down the main street.

Nope, definately not. Many are designed for inshore waterways. Might have to start a new channel for main street boat reviews. Dans Trucker Life..?
