    That thing looks like a time machine, the most sedate looking 30+ knots I've seen on any boat review. Nice one.

    From Florida....Best job of showing how a great yacht handles different water and tides. Well-done, Mate! Beautiful vessel.

    That is a huge outboard on that dingy, that dingy must fly. Love your presentations. Top of the charts.

      Super luxury set up in this boat. This has to be one of the best boats for serious cruising that I’ve tested. Thanks for the feedback

    Oh, so easy to imagine comfortable, competent coastal passage making on this boat. What a gem of a boat. Hope you made your flight, Dan!

    The SY 6000 was my favourite Riviera but this is so much better, love it, there seems to be a 2 year waiting time for new build Riviera boats which may put some people off. Price as tested? Great video Dan!

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes they are often taking multiple pre-sales before a new release so the wait times are real. I have a feeling that will continue for a while as Riv is a brand that just keeps improving themselves and people notice this and want to get the benefit of their resale value. I saw this when I was a broker.
      Not sure about the price as tested. They didn't tell me. Best to check with your dealer. Thanks for the feedback

    Nice thorough review; more boat handling demonstrations and actual implementation of the new tech doing its job instead of just a brief description as is all to common during "tours" is a great way for you to differentiate your offerings.
    *a camera angle down the approach side of the boat's line, to better show the system control, next time ;)

      Thanks for the feedback. I just spent the day on the new 58SMY so tried to get the angles you suggested. It’s was stinking hot so I did my best in the conditions but hopefully will be a useful video for you guys

    Great boat and very nice video! Can‘t wait to see the factory tour!
    Complete different boats, but do you will make a video about a Fleming once? Maybe the 65 foot.. or a video with the new owner of the first 85 in Australia.. they have a channel called freja85..
    have a good time and thanks for all the good content!

      It's probably the most professional factory i've visited. I've toured some privately owned Flemming Yachts in France which were owned by channel subscribers but not yet organised any tests. Thats a good idea.

    I noticed on their larger models they have gone with MAN engines. I see it also has a joystick but can it perform as well as the Volvo?

      I will need to test that and let you know in future videos as I don't know the answer yet? Riv have asked me back for a lot of tests coming up this summer so you'll see me posting more around Chrissy time I reckon

    What determines left or right steering? The location it will be used? Is it the same as vehicles?

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 10 месяцев назад +1

      Global rules of the sea are to steer starboard to avoid collision so helm stations are typically on the right so you can quickly check for obstacles starboard.

    How does the Riviera compare quality wise to the Maritimo?

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  Год назад +2

      Hi Greg, i've only toured Maritimo's and not tested any so I can only speak from a surface level. I would actually ask it around the other way and say how does Maritimo compare to Riv? Riv are an example of best practise when it comes to all things boat building. If I get a chance to film any Maritimo's i'll be sure to publish what I learn.

    • @JohnSmith-zo6ir
      @JohnSmith-zo6ir 11 месяцев назад +5

      The Maritimo S55 and S60 would be closest to this. I have been on most Maritimos and Rivieras. The difference in length between the two (S55 and S60) is all in the cockpit and aft platform length.
      Martimo are doing a good job and what stands out in their S model range when you get on board is their volume.
      Their other advantage is that they have a tender garage under the cockpit, but the davit to get it in and out with the space restrictions is not very user friendly. They do have a place for the tender on the roof of the boat, but it spoils the profile of the sports styling.
      Whilst Maritmo have vastly improved there is no doubt that Riviera is the standout benchmark. The 585 SUV beats the Maritimo S60 on just about everything. The volume, the styling, the luxury, the design from tender/swim platform, into the cockpit with its outdoor kitchen and double BBQ, up into the al fresco entertaining deck (which the S60 doesn't have) and is a very important feature because it extends your boating season, especially for people in the Mediterranean, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Asia, America especially up Seattle way etc.
      And then of course on the Riviera 585 you have indoor dining in an area on its own, whilst on the S60 the dining table is part of the saloon.
      The 585 has a saloon and dining seperate which I personally prefer. Also, they have taken the L seating saloon idea from their 5400 and put it next to the helm which is fantastic because now you have seating for six all around the skipper while you are underway and all facing forward.
      In short, the Riviera 585 SUV has blown all competitors away. I would have no hesitation in buying the 585. I think it is $3 million AUD, but you would need to confirm with a dealer, because the options you choose can dictate the end price.
      Hope that helps.

      The only vessels that pips Riviera in their own bracket are Palm Beach (also Aussie) and Neptunus (Canada).

    • @JohnSmith-zo6ir
      @JohnSmith-zo6ir 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@darthkek1953 Nope. Riviera is better than both. The Neptunus 650 exp is too closed especially in the saloon. There is no connection to the water and the bulkhead block the views. Riviera interior quality is better, especially their gloss walnut interior.
