Those are Germans and their language is German. The song is about Armin Meiwes, the "Cannibal of Rotenburg". Via an ad he searched for a man to eat.
A man replied to that ad and said: I want to be eaten. Both met each other in the house of Meiwes and Meiwes ate the other man.
That really happened exactly how I described it and the song is about that incident.

Rammstein are true artists. They do what they want, how they want and never explain or apologise. And they've had the same line-up of six guys since they started in the early 90's. No other band in history can claim that.
At least not a band that can still fill stadiums.
They are children born of two worlds, coming of age in communist East Germany with that emphasis on group identity, then learning to succeed in the west with our focus on individualism. It gives them a balance that most purely western bands don't have.

"Most Disturbing" is a subjective claim based on your perception of their works. I personally find other songs by them to disturb me more even in the context of the stage story they provide in their live performances and video clips. But that's personal opinion, based on my perception.

@@inquisitorkitty3283 haha, I remember the stage of my life where I really liked Rammstein's music but my German skills weren't good enough to understand so I looked up the translations and instantly regretted it. That was followed shortly after by the stage of my life when I learned to stop worrying and love their twisted minds.
Rammstien -sonne... is a good start off song for them to get you interested
Sonne is an extremely interesting video. Much more accessible. It is about admiration of another, written in admiration of a pair of brother boxers for a competition to provide their theme song. Hence the counting, cuz rounds. But the video spins the theme of worship in a darker and more entertaining direction.
This is my favorite band. They are German. Amazing live shows with lots of pyro and theatrics. Check out more of their stuff.

The song is based on a case that went through German news a couple of years ago, which included the consensual amputation and consumption of certain male body parts. ("Mein Teil" translates to "my piece", and I suppose you can guess *which* piece is meant now from context.)

Rammstein are true artists and performers, their shows are amazing! I've seen them seven times and hope to see them again. I'm in a wheelchair so I often pass through the doors next to the backstages, and I had the chance to meet Till and Richard three times... they were just adorable! Really! They helped me with the doors and they said "yes" to sign autographs and take pictures with me... they're not devils at all!
Rammstein captured my ass back in the 90's, and they just got better and better. One of the few groups ever that has had NO personnel changes since they were formed. I speak very little German, but I don't care what the words say, lol ! I am in this for the MUSIC !!! Enjoy....

Its not about a serial killer but about a butcher and another guy meeting each other on a cannibal forum on the internet(the butcher placed an ad with all the details, because he was wondering how human would taste as far as i know) and the guy agreed on getting killed and eaten under the condition that they would eat his dick together while he was still concious. They are about as much a stage show as they are with music. Their singer is a professional pyrotechnician and incorporates fire/flamethrowers/fireworks into their live shows.
I'd gladly never hear 'Du Hast' ever again. They have far more vastly better songs.
For folks in the comments that don't know. The reason he's all bloody and cooking their keyboardist. Mein Teil is based off the real life story of Armin Meiwes. Meiwes was a cannibal and put an ad online basically that he was looking for a well built certain age man to be slaughtered. Someone responded. They met up. Had consensual sex, then Meiwes cut off the other guys junk and they ate it together. There's a few more details afterwards but eh you can look it up if you want. It's a dark but fascinating event so of course Rammstein were like "Holy shit we gotta make music about that". Mein Teil is "My part" or "My tool" meaning the genitals that were eaten. The dark demonic stuff being said at the start is basically the ad that was posted. The lyrics "Denn du bist was du isst" are german for "You are what you eat"

The DVD has interviews about what the songs they're singing are about of that live show & is better to watch those then watch the music vid in full as it gives a better idea of what's going on. The theatrics on stage are epic. I hadn't heard of rammstein until i watched the movie XxX (Tripple X) it was the opening sequence (the song was Feuer Frei) & i was hooked as soon as the music started. I stopped the movie & went to end credit to find out who it was. Never looked back since hell man i didn't even finish the movie, ok i did :p . There's other vids of a rubber raft & crowd surfing

I honestly thought you guys were gonna hate all over this XD. Which is totally up to you, I appreciate different opinions. I love this band, I love this performance in particular. Even if you don't like the music, I feel the energy, details, and performance are so well done. I love that they tell a story through visuals, and Theatrics, and not just lyrics. When you said it sounded like some demon language, that was funny. They are the first German singing metal band that I have ever heard, and It grew on me in a big way.
